Chapter 30 Then I won't eat it.

After leaving the hot pot restaurant, Tang Qi and Lu Zhe took a taxi straight home.

The car stopped on the side of the road at the destination.

Lu Zhe got out of the car first, followed by Tang Qi. However, just as Miss Tang stepped out of the car, the driver in the front seat stared at her and said, "Little sister, you're so pretty."

Tang Qi turned her head to look at the driver, smiled, and slammed the car door shut.

The two walked towards the entrance of the apartment building.

Suddenly, Lu Zhe couldn't help but ask a question: "Miss, aren't you worried about your safety? You were just kidnapped a few days ago."

Tang Qi turned around, blinked her big eyes, and asked, "Why are you afraid? I booked the car through the platform, and we went to places with people and cameras everywhere."

Lu Zhe organized his thoughts and said, "I know that rationally there's not much to be afraid of. But I think it's a normal emotional reaction for a girl to feel scared, right?"

Tang Qi laughed and said, "But no one says you have to be afraid, right? I'm not a coward!"

"You've got some nerve?"

Lu Zhe recalled how Miss Tang had screamed and almost threw the controller while playing the two-player version of Resident Evil, and he was very suspicious. But he held back from saying it.

Tang Qi rubbed her neck and suddenly sighed, "I was too careless. The mild spiciness in Rongdu... it hurts a bit."

Lu Zhe: "Go back and drink more water, and eat lighter meals these next few days."

Tang Qi turned to look at him, a hint of anticipation on her face: "Would you like something a little lighter?"

Lu Zhe: "Yes, I'll cook. I can make it a little lighter."

This answer pleased Miss Tang greatly.

As they spoke, the two entered the apartment building, took the elevator up, and entered their password to their apartment on the floor they were on.

As soon as she got home, Tang Qi went straight to the kitchen.

Hearing the sound of the refrigerator door being pulled open, Lu Zhe suddenly remembered a possibility and immediately ran over.

Sure enough, she opened the freezer compartment of the refrigerator.

Lu Zhe quickly pressed the refrigerator door shut and asked, "What do you want to eat?"

Tang Qi: "Ice cream!"

Lu Zhe: "You're eating spicy food until your throat hurts, and you're still eating ice cream? Do you really want to get acute pharyngitis?"

The refrigerator door was held shut.

Tang Qi tried to pull the refrigerator door open again, but she was far weaker than Lu Zhe. The refrigerator door only wobbled slightly, without even opening a crack.

Tang Qi puffed out her cheeks: "I want ice cream!"

Lu Zhe: "No way!"

Tang Qi: "Get out of the way!"

Lu Zhe: "As an assistant, I can't back down at a time like this, unless you fire me."

As soon as he finished speaking, Tang Qi froze.

Lu Zhe asked, somewhat puzzled, "What's wrong?"

Tang Qi's voice suddenly weakened: "If you want me to eat ice cream, are you going to quit your job?"

Lu Zhe frowned. That wasn't what he meant; his earlier statement, "Unless you fire me," was just a figure of speech.

However, Tang Qi slumped her shoulders and muttered softly, "Fine, then I won't eat..."

After saying that, she turned and left.

Lu Zhe stood there, completely bewildered.

He considered pulling the young lady back to explain, but then thought, why bother? Letting her misunderstand like this isn't a big deal; after all, the goal of stopping the employer from courting disaster had been achieved.

However, such a simple sentence caused her to react so strongly... Did she really think she was that important to her?

As Lu Zhe thought this, he couldn't help but feel a little smug.

Although he still couldn't help but hesitate between Miss Tang and Xue Xiaodie, the realization that the girl cared so much about him made him very happy. Of course, along with the happiness came a little bit of psychological pressure.

Lu Zhe opened the refrigerator to check and hid the only three ice creams inside even deeper.

Then he went back to his bedroom, closed the door, and let out a long sigh.

"The kindness of a beautiful woman is the hardest to bear..."

He leaned against the windowsill, looked out the window, and began counting the lights outside.

"No, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no..."

It's like counting leaves to make a decision: if you count an odd number, you won't comply; if you count an even number, you'll comply.

Lu Zhe was genuinely hesitant.

Outside the window, the lights were dim and dim, seemingly unable to give him a definite answer.
