Chapter 4 This is too much!

Lu Zhe forced himself to calm down.

He had never experienced being held at gunpoint before. But the panic he felt was less than he had expected.

My heart was racing, the rhythm in my chest like a motor, thumping incessantly. Although my limbs weren't moving, they felt incredibly powerful. Everything in my vision seemed clearer than usual.

Lu Zhe observed his surroundings and calmly began to analyze the situation.

Both assailants were wearing sunglasses and masks, obscuring their faces. However, their body language suggested they were quite relaxed, indicating that they didn't perceive her or the girl beside her as a threat.

Wait, there's a problem... In China's security environment, carrying a gun is definitely an extremely risky thing. Why would someone be carrying a gun and acting so nonchalantly? Could they be a habitual criminal or a hardened criminal?

If I were to fall into the hands of such ruthless bandits, would I have any chance of saving my life?

Lu Zhe immediately decided that he absolutely couldn't let these two thugs take him to an abandoned warehouse or anything like that. The girl beside him was referred to as 'Miss,' which suggested she was probably a rich girl—the thugs' target. If they paid him in time, the girl might have a chance to go back alive, but he would be in serious trouble.

So, on the road ahead, we'll have to see if there's an opportunity...

The girl suddenly spoke up: "I'll go with you, but don't involve innocent people."

The first thug to appear laughed, "How could that be? Miss, don't be so naive. How would we know if this person has any connection to your family?"

Another thug taunted, "Even if we don't know your family, it's such a hassle to call the police if this person runs away, isn't it? Okay, come with us!"

As Lu Zhe had expected, after gaining control of the situation, the assailant forced him and the girl to walk out of the park. The route they chose was a small path leading to the side gate of the park, which was the least frequented path, with few security cameras and most of them blocked by branches and leaves.

Two assailants flanked the two hostages, holding their arms tightly, making escape difficult.

Lu Zhe remained calm and observed.

The assailant with the pistol was to his right. The girl was to his left, and another assailant was to the girl's left. Lu Zhe noticed that the assailant on his left didn't seem to have a gun. Only the assailant on his right was armed.

Summer clothes are relatively thin, and people don't wear jackets. Therefore, if a gun is in a pocket, its bulging outline will be easily recognizable.

From the perspective of the perpetrator, it's true that one gun is enough to deal with a girl whose age is unknown. Even with a passerby, there's no need for a second gun.

Logically speaking...

So, what if we could subdue the assailant on the right immediately and seize his gun?

For some reason, despite being in a dangerous situation, Lu Zhe felt excited. It wasn't panic, but rather a sense of anticipation. It was as if some hidden switch had been flipped, awakening a kind of adventurous instinct.

He was getting impatient.

Four people walked side by side across a small bridge. The bridge was very narrow, but the four people were still side by side, so the thugs on either side had very little foothold on the edge. What's even more ingenious is that this tiny bridge had no railings.

When he reached the middle of the bridge, Lu Zhe silently took a deep breath and suddenly moved.

He suddenly grabbed the man on his right, arched his back, and pulled him into the water. Moreover, Lu Zhe's hand was pressed tightly against the other man's gun-wielding hand.

The water here is just a small tributary drawn from the lake, and it only reaches an adult's chest.

But the assailant was caught off guard, and being held by Lu Zhe, he couldn't stand up straight—more importantly, he couldn't prepare himself mentally like Lu Zhe had and take in enough air before falling into the water.

The gunman choked on the water and struggled violently.

Lu Zhe snatched the pistol from his hand, released his grip, and turned to climb ashore. Before he could even stand up, he pointed the gun at another thug on the bridge.

"You bastard..." The thug was stunned and couldn't even speak.

At this point, Lu Zhe noticed a problem.

The gun in my hand is lighter than I expected... Can a real gun really be this light? It feels so similar to the toy guns I used to play with as a kid?

Suddenly, the girl who was still on the bridge also moved.

She gave a strong push, shoving the thug next to her into the water, and then ran quickly over. When she reached Lu Zhe, she grabbed his wrist and, without saying a word, dragged him away.

In the blink of an eye, the figures of the man and woman disappeared around the corner of the tree-lined path.

As for the two thugs, they were now standing upright in the water. The water was indeed only chest-deep, so as long as they stood firm, there was no danger of choking.

The two looked at each other, then sighed in unison.

"That kid is indeed a bit wild. How exactly did Miss Tang discover him?"

"What she wants to do is none of our business. Anyway, let's just treat it as overtime."

"It's not bad to get overtime pay for acting in a play or taking a bath."

"Heh, that was you. It was Miss Tang who pushed you down, and she even went easy on you. I was shoved down by that kid, and I even got punched twice in the water. I almost drowned..."

"Come on, you think you can drown in 1.3 meters of water? That's ridiculous."

"How is that impossible! A basin of water can drown a person. Today's mission is very dangerous, you need extra pay!"

"That makes sense. I'll go back and apply for it. But that gun... I guess it'll give us away?"

"That's none of our business."

After running out of Donghu Park, Lu Zhe couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

The streets outside the park were brightly lit, and there were security cameras everywhere. Even if those two thugs chased after us again, they certainly wouldn't dare to do anything more. Besides, they still had their guns in their hands.

Wait, a gun?

Lu Zhe snapped out of his daze and examined the gun in his hand.

The girl stood beside him, and asked somewhat nervously, "What are you doing?"

Lu Zhe removed the magazine from the pistol, revealing the bullets inside.

The bullet is bright yellow, has a plastic texture, is a neat circle, and is smaller than a marble... Yes, I often saw this kind of thing when I was a kid, and I played with it more than once or twice.

Lu Zhe: "For kidnapping, they use toy guns!"

If you were to take this thing as evidence to the police station, the officers would probably laugh you to death...

The girl blinked, looking somewhat bewildered: "How is this possible?"

Lu Zhe shoved the gun and magazine into her hands: "Take a look for yourself."

The girl looked down for a few seconds, then looked up, her pretty face filled with disbelief.

"They actually kidnapped me with toy guns... That's outrageous!"
