This was Lu Zhe's first time in a restaurant where the average cost per person was five or six hundred yuan, so it was difficult for him to establish a reasonable evaluation system. When the steak entered his mouth, the only feeling he could say was—it was indeed delicious.
Tender and juicy, with an irresistible aroma, every chew is a delight.
The steak was served on a square wooden board, along with some brightly colored side dishes and three small piles of seasoning powders with different flavors.
Before he knew it, he had finished the entire piece of beef. Not even the side dishes he had served as garnish were left.
The girl sitting opposite me suddenly teased, "Hey, didn't you say you weren't hungry and couldn't eat?"
Lu Zhe gave a wry smile: "I'm not really hungry, just craving something. I had dinner just two hours ago. I thought I wouldn't be able to eat steak, but now it seems... I underestimated my appetite."
Tang Qi stared at him, slowly put down her fork, picked up her glass, and took a small sip of juice. After swallowing the sweet and refreshing drink, the girl smiled and said, "I'm glad you like it. This is a small token of my gratitude for helping me out of this crisis."
Lu Zhe: "Even without me, you won't be in any danger."
“They were using replica guns, but without you, I definitely wouldn’t have noticed. If I were kidnapped, it would be a huge liability for my dad, and the losses could be enormous…” Tang Qi couldn’t help but stick out her tongue again as she said this, “So, I definitely have to thank you.”
Lu Zhe picked up his soda and took a sip, jokingly saying, "If you really want to thank me, then help me find a job."
Tang Qi was slightly taken aback: "Aren't you working right now?"
It felt a little embarrassing to admit to a girl that he was an unemployed office worker. Fortunately, Lu Zhe wasn't that thin-skinned, so he said frankly, "Yes, I'm currently unemployed."
Before she finished speaking, Tang Qi took a deep breath and her eyes widened even more intently.
For some reason, Lu Zhe noticed that the girl seemed to become quite excited after hearing the words "unemployed".
Tang Qi put down her cup, placed her hands on the table, leaned forward, and said earnestly, "I can help you arrange work."
Lu Zhe: "Arrange it directly?"
Tang Qi: "Yes, yes, it's not about introducing you to a job, it's about arranging one for you directly!"
Lu Zhe was shocked, and his hand trembled, almost spilling the soda water in the cup.
He couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you just eighteen? And you... can already run the family company?"
Tang Qi quickly shook her head: "My dad's company is very professional, how could he let me control it? The arrangement I'm talking about is to arrange something for me to be by my side, like a personal assistant or something."
Lu Zhe: "A personal assistant, huh..."
It sounds even more intriguing than a job in a company.
Lu Zhe placed the glass on the table, but his hand remained on it. Touching the smooth glass and watching the light reflected from it, he remained silent in thought.
After waiting a while, Tang Qi couldn't help but ask, "What do you think?"
Lu Zhe looked up at her, remaining calm: "That depends on the treatment you offer."
Tang Qi: "How much was your salary in your last job?"
"Monthly salary of eight thousand."
Lu Zhe wasn't lying, but he wasn't entirely telling the truth either. His nominal salary at his previous job was indeed eight thousand, but that was performance-based pay. And performance-based pay meant he could never actually earn the full amount. In reality, before leaving that job, he usually took home around seven thousand each month.
Tang Qi seemed to have entered business negotiation mode, and began to think seriously. However, she subconsciously puffed out her cheeks, making her look less like a working woman and more like a teenage girl.
After thinking for a while, Tang Qi held up one index finger: "I'll offer you a monthly salary of ten thousand!"
Lu Zhe's heart started racing: "Are you serious?"
Tang Qi nodded seriously.
Lu Zhe stared at that youthful and adorable face, at her solemn yet expectant gaze, and swallowed hard.
Then he said, "I think we can discuss this in more detail... what are the specific job requirements?"
Tang Qi clapped her hands: "Waiter, the bill!"
When the waiter came over, the girl looked at the boy in front of her and smiled, "Come on, let me take you to see your workplace first, and we'll talk when we get there."

As Tang Qi walked into the building, Lu Zhe had only one impression—it was high-end and elegant.
The building's exterior features a unified glass curtain wall, much like the surrounding high-end office buildings. Inside, the decor is tastefully arranged, with even the staircase leading to the second-floor bar being a spiral design.
Of course, they wouldn't go up the stairs.
When they arrived at the elevator, Tang Qi pressed the 49th floor button on the wall panel before the elevator doors opened.
He entered the elevator, waited a short while, and it smoothly ascended to his floor. Stepping out, he saw a simply outlined corridor and rows of doors spaced far apart. This corridor and these doors reminded Lu Zhe of a five-star hotel.
He had never stayed in a five-star hotel, but he had seen them in movies. And this place seemed even more expensive than a five-star hotel.
Reaching a door, Tang Qi entered the password and unlocked it. Then, as she pushed the door open, the two were suddenly greeted by a bright light.
There's no need to search for light switches in the dark; the lighting in this apartment is automatic and turns on when someone comes in.
Tang Qi went in first, then waved behind her, saying, "Come in, what are you standing there for?"
Lu Zhe: "Don't you need to change into slippers?"
Tang Qi shook her head: "No need, someone will clean the house in a couple of days, and there's also a robot mopping machine in the house."
