Chapter 7 Very late working hours

Lu Zhe walked into a bedroom, looked around, and decided that was it.

This second bedroom alone is several times larger than the small single room he rented, and it even has its own bathroom. As for the total number of bathrooms in the entire apartment, he counted them, and there are about three.

There's another secondary bedroom, about the same size, but with a smaller window and no bathroom. Although the suite's shared bathroom is just a short walk away, it's still more convenient to have one in the bedroom.

Lu Zhe stepped onto the bathroom floor tiles, touched the pristine white sink countertop, and took a breath.

Hmm, not only is there no unpleasant bathroom odor, but it also has a faint, pleasant fragrance. Looking at its brand new, shiny appearance, a professional cleaner must have thoroughly cleaned the bathroom and probably even applied some fragrance.

But Lu Zhe still felt a little unreal.

Just then, a series of hurried footsteps approached from afar and stopped at the bedroom door.

Tang Qi ran over, but when she reached the bedroom door, she didn't come in immediately.

Lu Zhe: "Miss Tang, is there anything I can help you with?"

He felt it was necessary to show some respect to someone who could pay him a five-figure salary.

Tang Qi hesitated outside the door for a few seconds before finally coming in.

So Lu Zhe saw what she looked like now.

In reality, Tang Qi didn't change her clothes; her face and toes remained unchanged, except for her hairstyle. But just that one change in hairstyle completely transformed her appearance.

She tied her hair into pigtails.

The petite and adorable girl, with this hairstyle, looks like a middle school student who has just started to act like a delinquent, giving off a playful yet innocent Lolita vibe.

For a moment, Lu Zhe was stunned.

Tang Qi suddenly clapped her hands: "I get it, you're the kind of person who's into lolis, aren't you!"

Lu Zhe snapped out of his daze and immediately retorted righteously, "How dare you slander me for no reason? I was just a little curious why you changed your hairstyle at home, I didn't mean anything by it."

Tang Qi touched the smooth braid by her ear and snorted, clearly not believing it. However, she didn't dwell on it further and instead sat down on the chair next to her to get down to business.

"Didn't you ask me about my job before? Well, it's not that complicated. It's just helping me with some everyday problems. Like tutoring me, taking me out for good food at mealtimes..."

Hearing her say this, Lu Zhe couldn't help but interrupt, "Do you really need me to take you to eat? Do you want to eat at a roadside noodle shop with me?"

Tang Qi smiled without any pretense: "Sure, I can give it a try. I'm not familiar with Chengdu, and I haven't eaten at many of the restaurants there, so I'll need someone to help me find one..."

Lu Zhe: "Okay, so how about tutoring? Are you in high school or college?"

Tang Qi: "University, majoring in finance. You must have graduated from university, right? Can you teach me math? I haven't officially enrolled yet, but I checked and it seems we have to study calculus and linear algebra."

Lu Zhe thought for a moment and said cautiously, "If I tutor these two subjects, then I also need to review them."

Tang Qi: "It's okay, I haven't started school yet, I have plenty of time. Oh, by the way, there's one more thing, you have to help me rank up!"

Lu Zhe: "Playing games?"

Tang Qi nodded emphatically: "That's right, we'll be playing duo queue, you'll be my support!"

"I've been playing mostly single-player games lately, but I should be able to practice without too much trouble..." Lu Zhe said cautiously, "So, is this all my job entails? Accompanying you to eat, play, and study?"

Tang Qi: "There's more, it's just helping me with some odds and ends."

Lu Zhe hesitated for a moment, wanting to say something but then stopping himself.

In his view, a soon-to-be college student living in such a house, with no shortage of money, shouldn't need any help with anything. At least the difficulties that had left a deep impression on him were all problems that could have been solved with money, but his biggest problem back then was simply not having any money.

But it's hard to say. Rich heiresses might just be a bit spoiled; they need constant protection in games and even need someone to accompany them for meals.

However, if the job content is like this, there are some very important issues.

Lu Zhe asked, "What are the working hours? What time does it take each day, and are there weekends off?"

Tang Qi touched the smooth braid beside her ear and hesitated, "This... let me think about it."

Lu Zhe then asked, "So, will we sign a contract? Will there be social insurance and housing fund benefits?"

"Five insurances..." Tang Qi was even more dumbfounded when she heard this.

Silence fell over the room for a moment.

Lu Zhe observed the girl's expression and quickly calmed down. He realized that the job she was offering offered absolutely no security. There were no legal constraints, no career development opportunities; in other words, it could only be used temporarily and not as a long-term plan.

Even if it's just to get by temporarily, isn't it nice to have 10,000 a month?

He was going to agree.

But just then, Tang Qi stood up and said solemnly, "I can sign a contract with you, with a confirmed monthly salary of 10,000. The working hours are eight hours a day, and two days off a week, but I can't say which two days are it. I'll arrange it... Is that okay with you?"

Lu Zhe immediately extended his right hand and smiled, "Then I look forward to your guidance in the future, Mr. Tang."

One second, the girl's face was full of seriousness. But before Lu Zhe had even finished speaking, she couldn't hold back any longer, and a bright smile appeared on her face.

The two clasped hands and shook them, as if they had already made a pact. However, the meaning behind this pact seemed to be different for the two of them.
