Chapter 85 Little Butterfly's Breakfast

After dinner, the three of them had just returned home when Tang Qi turned on the TV and the game console connected to it. Then, the young lady dragged Lu Zhe along and started playing Devil May Cry 5, where you could switch characters every time you died.

However, Tang Qi wouldn't allow the scores to be tallied tonight, because—

“Scoring has ruined the original fun of the game!” Tang Qi said emphatically.

Lu Zhe smiled gently and said, "If you say so, then so be it."

Tang Qi picked up the controller and started playing.

Lu Zhe sat to one side, while Xue Xiaodie sat a little further away on the same sofa. The girl suddenly leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Miss doesn't allow scoring, is it because she can't beat you?"

Lu Zhe also replied in a low voice, "Be more confident, and remove the words 'couldn't be'."

"oops!"

Just then, Tang Qi couldn't help but scream and stared blankly at the screen.

On the screen, Nero is kneeling on the ground, and a window pops up: [Are you sure you don't want to resurrect here?]

Lu Zhe snatched the controller and pressed "Yes" to abandon the revival. Nero was thus defeated, and the scene shifted to start again from the nearest save point.

Tang Qi hugged her knees, her legs, encased in black knee-high stockings, tucked into the sofa, sullenly curled up in a ball. She moved to the right side of the sofa.

Xue Xiaodie secretly wanted to laugh. She stood up, walked to sit next to the young lady, and said in a low voice, "Xiao Qi, I have something I want to ask you... By the way, can I call you Xiao Qi?"

Upon noticing her 'love rival' approaching, Tang Qi immediately straightened her posture and put her legs down.

She thought for a moment and said, "It's best not to, because only my dad calls me that. If you call me that too, it just feels a little strange."

"Really?" Lu Zhe, who was whittling down the BOSS's health with a pistol, suddenly had an idea when he heard this. "Xiao Qi, I'll call you that from now on."

Xue Xiaodie: "..."

Tang Qi: "...You're taking advantage of me, aren't you?"

Xue Xiaodie waved her hand: "Ignore him. Just tell me what I should call you. Besides your father, what do your friends call you?"

Tang Qi blinked her big eyes twice: "What friend?"

Xue Xiaodie: "..."

Lu Zhe: "..."

Now Lu Zhe understood what the young lady meant when she said she "used to be rather withdrawn." She didn't even have a nickname for her best friend, so she didn't have any friends at all?

Xue Xiaodie felt as if she had touched a sore spot, and couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed.

Fortunately, Tang Qi didn't feel embarrassed. Instead, she had a sudden inspiration: "Can you call me Little Rainbow Candy?"

As she said this, the young lady glanced at Lu Zhe before quickly returning her gaze to Xue Xiaodie in front of her.

Xue Xiaodie thought for a moment and asked, "Does your 'Qi' mean colorful?"

Tang Qi: "Beautiful and colorful!"

Xue Xiaodie smiled and said, "Of course, no problem, Little Candy."

Lu Zhe swept away the elite monsters blocking his way, controlled Nero to continue running forward, and casually said, "I'll still call you Xiao Qi."

Tang Qi pouted and said, "If you really want to take advantage of me... you can. Just promise my dad that you can be my stepmother."

Stepmother?

Lu Zhe decisively changed his tune: "Since you've taken the initiative to suggest it, I'll respect the person involved's opinion, right, Little Rainbow?"

Hearing that familiar nickname from his mouth made Tang Qi unable to help but show a sweet smile.

Seeing her like this, Xue Xiaodie felt a little uncomfortable.

The girl with glasses said quietly, "I want a nickname too..."

Lu Zhe: "No problem, little butterfly."

Little butterfly?

In Xue Xiaodie's memory, this guy had never addressed her like that before. But now it sounded... kind of nice?

The girl was in a daze for a while. When she came to her senses, she saw that Lu Zhe had already rushed up to the BOSS.

He tried the challenge, but he couldn't last long before he gave up.

Next, it was Tang Qi's turn to take the stage.

"But I don't want to fight the BOSS..." the young lady said with a frown. "Isn't it annoying that I have to fight the BOSS right from the start?"

Lu Zhe: "Sorry, this level is a bit short; you'll reach the end while running around."

Tang Qi puffed out her cheeks and started the game.

Half a minute later, Tang Qi, still with her cheeks puffed out, handed the handle to Lu Zhe.

"Alright, it's your turn!"

Lu Zhe: "How could it be so fast? You're deliberately feeding kills, aren't you?"

Xue Xiaodie watched the two of them from the side, not openly mocking them, but covering her mouth and chuckling.

And so, Lu Zhe and Tang Qi played until late at night, even past midnight. Xue Xiaodie sat nearby, scrolling through her phone and chatting, keeping them company until midnight as well…

It was nearly 1 a.m., and at Lu Zhe's urging, the two girls finally returned to their respective rooms, while Lu Zhe also went back to his bedroom to wash up and get ready.

By the time I finally went to bed, it was already past 1:30.

————

I woke up at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

This was probably the most relaxing time of the week, and Lu Zhe couldn't resist lying down a little longer.

"Being able to idly pass the time is also a kind of happiness..."

He was lying in bed, lost in thought, when suddenly there was a knock on the bedroom door. The knock wasn't very loud, but it wasn't quiet either; it was clear enough to hear.

Immediately afterwards, Xue Xiaodie's voice rang out from outside the door: "Lu Zhe, are you awake?"

He sat up: "Is there something you need?"

Xue Xiaodie: "May I come in?"
