Chapter 11 Chicken Dinner

"It's not impossible for me to leave, as long as you return my father's pension to me, then I promise to take my mother, my sister, and me far away."

Upon hearing the first two sentences, the grandmother and the others' eyes lit up instantly, thinking that their kindred spirit would leave.

But when she heard the conditions for leaving, her grandmother instantly exploded, seemingly forgetting all her fear, and immediately glared angrily at Zhiyin.

"Don't even think about it!"

"That's my money, you can forget about getting a single penny."

"If you're not afraid of being gossiped about behind your back by people from all around, then go ahead and be arrogant!"

She spoke bitterly, her eyes wary as she looked at Zhiyin, fearing she might steal the silver. She was already planning to add two more locks.

Money is her lifeblood!

She won't give it to me.

“Yinyin, how about this, let’s separate the family. I can give you one tael of silver, a piece of land, and the old house to live in.”

Grandfather felt this was not a good thing; he didn't want things to be chaotic every day from now on.

Since I can't even eat in peace, I might as well send my confidant away.

He felt he had given more than enough, and that his kindred spirit would definitely agree.

But Zhiyin just looked at him coldly, "Are you trying to fob me off like a beggar? I won't give you any!"

It's easy to imagine that the piece of land he would give would be the most desolate, or the furthest from the old house.

Besides, what kind of old house is that?

It was alright before, but since the heavy snow this year, it's been weighed down and is about to collapse.

She was afraid that the house would collapse shortly after they moved in, and they might be crushed to death.

Moreover, according to the laws of the Great Chu Dynasty, once the family was divided, her father's pension would never be recovered.

Separating the family is definitely happening!

But that can only be done after we receive the pension and have some money!

She didn't want to see this bunch of monsters and demons! She didn't want to spend all her time arguing and fighting with them.

"You old geezer, are you trying to kill us?"

How could you be so heartless?

Upon hearing this, Yao Yulin couldn't sit still any longer. Her eyes turned bloodshot as she angrily pointed at her grandfather and began to curse.

Grandfather felt guilty and didn't dare to meet her gaze.

"No way, why should we divide the family property? Why should we give her a tael of silver? I won't divide it! We can just stay like this."

Grandmother disagreed and kept muttering angrily from the side.

"Yes, that's right. If we split the assets, who will do the laundry and cooking at home?"

Aunt's eyes were full of agreement; she didn't want to leave three free laborers unused.

She always believed that Zhiyin had just suddenly gone mad and would eventually behave himself.

After all, which girl can survive without her parents' home?

Isn't she afraid of being gossiped about by her in-laws in the future? Without them, who will support her?

Unfortunately, she didn't say these words. If Zhiyin knew that her aunt thought this way, she would be overjoyed.

Unfortunately, Zhiyin didn't know that she had already clapped her hands impatiently, "Whatever, it's fine if you don't want to hand it over. I have plenty of ways to deal with it. Just don't regret it!"

As she spoke, she glanced at her uncle with a half-smile, and her uncle immediately felt as if he were being watched, with a bad premonition in his heart.

He couldn't help but frown, but ultimately couldn't utter a single word.

After all, he knew perfectly well that the money would eventually end up in his hands anyway.

Grandmother scratched her ear indifferently and irresponsibly, "Whatever... You're not getting a single copper coin out of me!"

"Of course, if you behave as you have before, I won't hold these things against you."

Zhiyin immediately scoffed, "What? You want us to be your slaves? Dream on!"

Looking at the crowd whose faces had darkened, she felt a sense of satisfaction.

"What do you mean by 'working like an ox or a horse'? Don't use such harsh words. We're all family. What's wrong with doing something? Besides, you guys are just idle all day long."

The listener, impatient, simply walked away, too lazy to listen, and headed straight for the stove.

Just then, Grandma's smug voice came over again, "There's nothing in the pot. If you want to eat, you'd better behave, or you'll be starving in this freezing weather."

Zhiyin chuckled and immediately changed direction, heading straight for the chicken coop.

She simply didn't believe that her grandmother had put the chickens in her room and locked them up.

Did they think this would threaten her?

Tsk…

That's utterly delusional.

She told Yao Yulin and Zhihua to wait patiently while she ran to the chicken coop to look at the four lively chickens.

The aromas of spicy chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and chicken stew involuntarily flashed through my mind.

He couldn't help but lick his lips, his eyes gleaming with lust.

He decisively grabbed a fat, large chicken by the neck and lifted it up.

The chicken immediately let out a pitiful clucking sound.

The smiles of the grandmother and aunts inside the house froze on their faces as they realized what Zhiyin was doing.

Grandmother immediately let out a strange cry and rushed out. As soon as she arrived, she saw Zhiyin raise her knife and decisively cut off the chicken's neck.

All the words stuck in his throat, and he forced a bitter smile. "Yinyin, oh dear, how could you kill it?"

"I'm counting on it to lay eggs this winter, so I can sell them when the weather gets better!"

She was heartbroken and felt like she couldn't breathe.

It felt like countless coins were floating away towards me.

I hated it so much!

I deeply regret the decision I made.

I wanted to slap myself twice. What on earth was wrong with her?

I wonder if that little slut Zhiyin is capable of anything?

Her lucky rooster!

Just like that, one was gone!

Zhiyin raised an eyebrow at her, deliberately moved the chicken closer to her, and teased her with a mocking expression, "See? If you don't feed us again, we'll eat a chicken every day."

Having said that, he skipped and hopped inside, commenting as if talking to himself, "Sigh, this chicken is so plump and strong, it probably costs 100 coins, right? Tsk tsk tsk... I've never eaten anything so expensive before!"

"It will smell delicious!"

As he spoke, his eyes gleamed with delight, as if he were watching a good show.

Her words were like a needle piercing her grandmother's heart, causing her even greater pain.

"Oh dear, my money!!"

After she finished speaking resentfully, fearing that her confidante would eat the remaining three chickens, she quickly herded all the chickens into her bedroom.

They are on high alert and guarding against it.

The grandfathers also witnessed this scene, and they were all extremely angry.

Especially my aunt, you know, this chicken is very precious!

In the past, when chickens were occasionally killed, the meat usually went to Zhifu, her uncle, and her grandparents; she could only drink the soup.

Now that I see that little slut Zhiyin is actually eating delicious meat, I'm absolutely furious.

I wish I could snatch it away, but unfortunately, I can only dream about it.
