Chapter 17 Making Trouble

The tigers escorted their confidant to the outer perimeter to avoid being seen by others, and then left.

Zhiyin glanced at the contents of her basket and felt it was rather abrupt. To avoid being seen by others and causing unnecessary trouble, she casually grabbed a few handfuls of grass from the ground and covered the basket before slowly making her way home.

At this moment, Yao Yulin and Zhihua saw that it was already very dark and were worried that Zhiyin was in danger, so they no longer cared about what Zhiyin had said earlier.

He opened the door and prepared to search.

Then she saw her grandparents and their family enjoying their meal at the wooden table, when she came out.

Grandmother and aunt both tensed up, their faces immediately falling, fearing she would come over and snatch the food.

At this moment, Zhi Zhaodi suddenly tugged at her aunt's sleeve, her eyes flickering, "Mother, I think I heard Erniu and the others say that my cousin went up the mountain. You said she hasn't come back yet, is something wrong?"

Sure enough, as soon as she said that, her aunt, who was initially impatient with her, burst into laughter.

Zhi Zhaodi's voice wasn't very loud, but it was loud enough for Yao Yulin to hear, and her face immediately turned pale.

The grandmother paused for a moment, but then visibly became happy, showing no sign of worry for her granddaughter.

Seeing that Yao Yulin's face was pale and she could barely stand, he seemed to remember something and said with feigned sadness, "Sigh, Zhao Di, is what you said true?"

Zhi Zhaodi nodded repeatedly, then said worriedly, "I heard that someone saw a tiger on the mountain. You said that my cousin has been gone for so long and hasn't come back yet. Could she have been eaten by a tiger?"

After she finished speaking, she saw that Yao Yulin's figure was becoming more and more unsteady, and a mischievous and malicious glint flashed in her eyes.

"Huh? No way?"

Auntie's mouth dropped open in exaggerated surprise, and she said in a sarcastic tone, "Isn't Yinyin supposed to be quite capable? How could she possibly be eaten by a worm?"

Grandmother couldn't help but frown. "Why not? With her mediocre skills, she can only show off in front of us. She'll probably get eaten by a tiger."

"She's really overestimating herself. Is that back mountain a place that ordinary people can go to? Even if they go, they have to go in groups. She's just a little girl who dares to go alone. She's really asking for death!"

"Mother, don't talk nonsense. You mustn't curse Yinyin. She'll be fine."

Even though Yao Yulin's face was already in terrible shape, she still forced herself to keep going.

Upon hearing everything, Zhihua couldn't help but burst into tears. She glared at Zhizhaodi with hatred and roared at her, "You're not allowed to talk nonsense! How could anything happen to my sister? She's so strong!"

"I don't…"

Zhi Zhaodi retorted defiantly, but when she met Zhi Hua's fierce, wolf-like gaze, she still shrank back in fear.

"What nonsense are you talking about? It's already dark. Even if she wasn't eaten by the worm, something must have definitely happened to her."

Grandmother said this in an annoyed tone.

Upon hearing this, Yao Yulin immediately looked at her grandmother and her grandfather and uncle, who were eating silently, with pleading eyes, "Father, Mother, Big Brother, can you come with me to find Yinyin?"

"I'm really afraid something will happen to her..."

Grandmother's expression immediately changed. "You're afraid something will happen to her, but not to us?"

Grandfather suddenly said, "Searching isn't impossible. I can ask the clan chief to mobilize all the able-bodied men in the village to go and search for them..."

He paused for a moment, then, meeting Yao Yulin's suddenly bright eyes, added, "But you must promise that you and Zhiyin will continue to be as obedient as before, not to anger us again, not to bully Fu'er, and to move back into your own rooms."

"And don't try to covet the pension my son left behind."

"If you can agree, I'll go find someone right now!"

Upon hearing this, the grandmother and aunt, who had initially looked displeased, immediately beamed with joy and nodded repeatedly, "Yes, yes, yes!"

"Oh, and they also need to kneel down and apologize to us for what happened these past few days."

"And that little bitch Zhiyin ate one of my precious chickens, you have to pay her back!"

Yao Yulin looked at them in disbelief, never expecting that they would not only kick her when she was down, but also take the opportunity to blackmail her.

"Father, Mother, are you even human? That's your granddaughter!"

Because she was too excited, angry, and annoyed, Yao Yulin's voice was particularly sharp and piercing.

Grandmother and grandfather's faces immediately darkened. "What's wrong with our granddaughter? She wanted to go herself, we didn't beg her to go. Ha... If you ask me, she deserves to die!"

"It's better that she's dead. One less troublemaker. Without her, let's see how you dare to continue opposing us!"

At this point, Grandma really felt it was good that Zhiyin, that stubborn man, was dead, so that their family could finally return to peace.

Yao Yulin and Zhihua can now continue to work tirelessly for their family without worry.

The more she thought about it, the brighter her and her grandfather's eyes became, and they had absolutely no urge to call someone to check on them.

Seeing this tense scene, the eldest aunt's eyes were full of anticipation, and she was only gloating.

When Yao Yulin saw the change in their eyes, she knew perfectly well what they were thinking, and she felt utterly disheartened.

Even though she already knew that her father-in-law and mother-in-law were extremely self-centered, eccentric, and profit-driven people, she never expected that they would be so utterly depraved.

Her heart was completely chilled.

"Forget about it. If anything happens to Yinyin, I won't let you control me anymore!"

After speaking with a resolute look in her eyes, she glared fiercely at the group of people, then took Zhihua's hand and prepared to leave.

"Tsk...Once that little slut Zhiyin dies, how much of a fuss do you think you can stir up?"

Grandmother curled her lips in disdain, and even her eldest uncle looked at her with sarcasm. They all thought that Yao Yulin was all alone and had fled here. Without her family, where could she go without their protection?

It's all just talk!

There will be a time when she has to beg them.

"Yulin, are you home?"

"Ouch"

Just as Yao Yulin stepped out of her house in a panic, a crisp and familiar voice rang out.

She immediately bumped into the person who came.

"Hey... Yulin, where are you going? Come on, I was just about to invite you and Yinyin to my house for dinner."

The person who came was Aunt Xu. When she saw Yao Yulin, she immediately grabbed her and prepared to leave.

Yao Yulin, however, seemed to have grasped a lifeline. She grabbed Aunt Xu's hand and looked at her with red eyes, "Weiwei, can I ask you for a favor?"
