Chapter 58 Going to their door

Although she was called Granny Xu, she was actually only in her early forties, in the prime of her life, because people in ancient times married young.

They lived in a small tile-roofed house at the end of the village, and there were only six people in the family.

Her husband, son and daughter-in-law, and two infant grandchildren.

I heard that their family wasn't actually well-off. The husband was very skilled and made a living by weaving various baskets from bamboo strips. The son worked as a laborer in the county and didn't earn much money throughout the year.

Logically speaking, in such a family, she wouldn't have time to gossip like a street urchin, visiting neighbors and sitting around telling stories.

But she was lucky; she married a loving husband, and her son and daughter-in-law were also filial.

Everyone felt sorry for her and didn't need her to do anything. In the past, two men earned the money, and her daughter-in-law did the housework and cooking.

She usually just takes care of her grandson.

When Zhiyin arrived, wisps of smoke were already rising from their house, indicating that they were cooking.

The door was wide open, and as soon as Zhiyin arrived, she saw Granny Xu sitting by the stove, holding a child and eating melon seeds.

Seeing her grinning so hard her teeth were practically splitting behind her ears, Zhiyin instantly flew into a rage.

Depend on!

This is really annoying!

Why is she so happy?

Immediately, Zhiyin rushed in with a cold face, grabbed Granny Xu's hair, and dragged her to the ground with all her might.

"ah!!!"

Before she could even see who it was, Granny Xu was startled and felt a tearing pain in her scalp. Her face immediately turned pale.

It let out a shrill scream.

The moment she recognized her as her soulmate, her pupils constricted sharply, and she felt guilty and dared not look at her.

Especially when he saw Zhiyin looking fierce and holding a dagger, as if she was about to kill someone, he was so scared that he almost wet his pants.

"You...you...what are you going to do? Zhiyin, you little bitch, are you crazy?"

"Waaaaah..."

"Waaaaah..."

The baby in her arms seemed to be frightened as well, letting out a series of pitiful screams.

Zhiyin realized she had frightened the child, silently repeating her sins several times before snatching the child from Granny Xu's arms.

"Hey! Why are you trying to steal my grandson?"

"My precious grandson!"

Granny Xu's face immediately changed drastically. She finally realized that Zhiyin was going to harm the child. With a ferocious expression, she bared her teeth and claws, ready to pounce and snatch the child.

"roll…"

Zhiyin glanced at her dismissively, then delivered a swift and stylish back kick, sending her flying.

She gently placed the child, who had stopped crying, on the bed beside her, and even pinched his chubby cheeks with a smile, "Good boy, it's not your fault, go to sleep!"

The moment she turned her head, Zhiyin's smile vanished, replaced by an extremely gloomy expression.

"You old hag, I've wanted to beat you up for ages, and today I've finally got my chance!"

After speaking to himself, he carelessly rolled up his sleeves and dashed off at top speed.

He grabbed the hair of Granny Xu, who was groaning and rubbing her bottom, and gave her a cruel smile.

"You...you...you...don't come any closer!"

"Are you out of your mind?"

Seeing that Zhiyin was acting completely mad, Granny Xu kept backing away.

She then frantically shouted towards the kitchen, "Husband, daughter-in-law, come quick, save me!"

"Waaaaah..."

Before she could finish speaking, Zhiyin, annoyed by her excessive noise, impatiently picked up rotten vegetable leaves and strands of hair from the ground and stuffed them into her mouth.

He then grinned maliciously at her.

With his left hand, he yanked her hair outwards forcefully, while with his right hand, he slapped her hard across the face without any hesitation.

"hey-hey…"

"Smack!!"

"Huh? Spreading rumors?"

"Slap slap slap!!!"

"How dare you spread rumors and gossip about me? Have you lost your mind?"

"You really think I'm someone to be trifled with?"

For every two slaps a friend receives, he will unleash a barrage of angry words.

She moved with lightning speed, and because she was so angry and almost merciless, almost instantly, Granny Xu's face swelled up like a pig's head.

"Please...please..."

Granny Xu was quite frightened, completely unable to believe that her confidante would know that she was the one who did it, and at the same time, she was shocked that she dared to come directly to her door to cause trouble.

Feeling the burning pain on her face, her voice was almost choked with sobs, and she couldn't bring herself to deny it at all; she just kept begging for mercy.

"Waaaaah... I was wrong, I'll never do it again!"

Zhiyin ignored him and continued whipping, the whole courtyard filled with the crackling sound of the blows.

Her daughter-in-law came out as soon as she heard the noise, but when she saw the scene that was nothing short of violent, she couldn't help but cover her mouth and was instantly at a loss.

They dared not come out at all, for fear of being beaten, and dared not even make a sound. They just hurriedly ran back.

"Father...you must go quickly...Mother has been beaten!"

She went straight to the backyard to find her father-in-law who was chopping wood. Seeing that he was oblivious, she quickly shouted.

"What?"

Old Mrs. Xu's husband was an ordinary, honest, and simple old farmer. He was dark-skinned and thin. When he heard that his wife had been beaten, he was terrified and ran outside in fear that something had happened to her.

"Ah!! What's going on? Stop it! Stop it!"
