Chapter 7 Family

Luo Cheng stood there, unable to answer.

This was the first time Luo Zhi asked her this kind of question. Her tone was light and casual, and even had a hint of a relaxed smile as if she was chatting.

But at that moment, there were countless things that had happened in the past, were happening now, and would probably happen in the future, and they all seemed to be summed up lightly with the same sentence structure.

Is she that kind of person?

Luo Zhi is indeed hateful, and it is all her own fault that she has ended up like this... But no matter what, the person on the hospital bed is related to her by blood... Is she such a cold-blooded person? Just like Luo Zhi said...

"She is not that kind of person." Ren Chenbai suddenly said, "Xiao Zhi, you are too malicious towards your sister."

Luo Cheng looked up suddenly.

Her eyes were red, her hands tightly grasped the hem of her clothes, and she looked at Ren Chenbai as if for help.

"Have you seen the comments online? Those people are really hoping you'll die."

Ren Chenbai's voice was very gentle, as if he was patiently teaching a simple truth: "Your sister was angry because you did that because she cares about you, and she was unable to explain herself clearly at the moment."

"If I didn't really care about your family, why would I feel guilty about this matter and come to question you?"

"I was angry with you because I wanted you to be well." Ren Chenbai said, "Maybe I was too anxious and my words weren't considerate enough to take care of your feelings, but that can't be a reason for you to set a trap and slander Xiaocheng."

Ren Chenbai turned to Luo Cheng and said in a gentle tone: "Is that so?"

Luo Cheng bit her lower lip hard. She suddenly felt that the huge rock that was pressing down on her was removed. Her frail body was on the verge of falling and tears welled up in her eyes.

When Luo Chengxiu walked in, he happened to see this scene.

The Luo family almost made a fool of themselves at the birthday party, and Mrs. Luo's condition had been unstable for several days. Luo Zhi had to cause such a scandal at the critical time of the handover of Huaisheng Entertainment.

Luo Chengxiu was already upset because of the storm of public opinion caused by Luo Zhi. When he saw his little daughter shedding tears of grievance and looking at him helplessly and anxiously, the anger accumulated from the big and small storms in the past few days burst out with a bang, rushing to his head with strong disgust.

Luo Chengxiu took a few steps to the bedside, grabbed Luo Zhi's hospital gown, and lifted him up from the bed.

Luo Zhi was extremely thin, and seemed to have almost no weight at all. Luo Chengxiu used too much force this time, and the drastic change in body position quickly caused him to have a dizziness that was enough to overwhelm his consciousness.

Luo Zhi's eyes suddenly went dark.

When he regained consciousness, Ren Chenbai had already calmed down the furious head of the Luo family.

Luo Chengxiu sat in the farthest corner of the ward, with a sullen face and not saying a word. Ren Chenbai was whispering something to persuade others, or perhaps he was explaining the specific "real situation" to Luo Chengxiu.

Luo Cheng curled up in his father's arms, his eyes were red and he looked like he was crying loudly out of grievance.

Luo Zhi leaned against the corner.

He was thrown in the corner next to the bed, but he didn't suffer any new injuries. It seemed that Ren Chenbai stopped him in time.

No one cared about him, and he himself had no strength to move.

Perhaps it was because my blood sugar level had not yet reached the safety line. Even moving my fingertips would cause me to feel extreme panic and numbness, and I was sweating profusely.

Luo Zhi lowered his eyes.

At this moment, his consciousness seemed to suddenly break away from this increasingly weak and dilapidated body, floating quietly somewhere.

It's very relaxing, do nothing, just watch.

Looking at the body hidden in the hospital gown, it seemed to have no bones and collapsed, twisted and folded in a mess, like a pile of dirty and broken fallen leaves swept into a pile on the side of the road.

Luo Zhi thought of the doll costume she had turned into in her dream.

How nice it would be if this were a dream.

When he was five or six years old, he watched too many messed-up TV dramas and got too absorbed in them. He wiped away his tears and imagined himself as some pitiful character, having a long and extremely chaotic nightmare.

Luo Zhi saw a figure appear in front of him. He slowly distinguished the outline of the shadow and raised his head.

Luo Cheng stood in front of him.

The shadow of the tender and childish girl he protected behind him had become very faint. The girl had grown into a graceful girl and her expression had calmed down again.

But his face was still a little pale and his eyes were still red.

"I forgive you." Luo Cheng looked at him, "Luo Zhi."

Luo Zhi looked at her for a few seconds and slightly curled the corners of his mouth.

Luo Cheng took this smile as him trying to cover up his own little calculations, so he didn't pay any attention and continued, "I already understand. You said that on purpose to make me feel like a very disgusting bad person."

"You think my second brother and I teamed up to take away your company, so you set up this trap."

Luo Cheng paused for a moment before continuing softly, "You're going to find ways to make me blame myself, make me feel sorry for you, and then torture me to death... just like mom did."

Luo Zhi himself was surprised at how scheming he was in the eyes of these people. He raised his eyebrows and tried to look at his grown-up sister.

Because of the blurred vision, Luo Zhi's eyes were covered with a thin layer of mist. His pupils were a little dilated, which made his eyes appear even darker and clearer, and his long, thick eyelashes cast a small shadow.

Luo Cheng was being looked at by those eyes. Even though Luo Zhi's gaze did not have a clear focus, she still felt as if she was suddenly pricked by an extremely thin needle.

Luo Cheng didn't understand what was going on, but subconsciously looked away in a hurry: "You wouldn't...you wouldn't forget that you drove Mom crazy, right?"

Luo Zhi thought about it.

He remembered that he seemed to have been charged with such a crime.

That should have happened when he was twelve years old. Luo Zhi still had some impression of it. That day he was taken to talk to Mrs. Luo for a few words, and later they had some disputes.

Later, he was pushed out of the second-floor window by Mrs. Luo.

After that, Mrs. Luo's mental condition obviously became worse and worse.

Luo Cheng twisted the corner of her clothes with her fingertips. She didn't know why she was so nervous. She just lowered her head and continued, "Change it. Don't hurt others in the future."

Luo Zhi drooped her eyelashes and just smiled without saying anything.

Luo Cheng finally realized that something was wrong with him. She frowned and pulled Luo Zhi's hand: "Luo Zhi, you——"

Luo Zhi's hands were so cold that he shuddered.

Luo Cheng subconsciously let go. She saw Luo Zhi's arm fall down softly. The already thin and pale hand fell to the ground, and the joints hit the tiles with a very sharp and crisp sound.

Luo Chengxiu was ready to leave and was waiting for her at the door: "Luo Cheng."

Luo Cheng turned his head back in panic.

In fact, she was still afraid of Luo Zhi. If her father was not here, she was worried that Luo Zhi would continue to brainwash him with more vicious means as Brother Chen Bai said.

Thinking of this, Luo Cheng couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief as he looked at Luo Zhi who was quiet and silent.

If Luo Zhi could always be like this, not making trouble or doing evil, and just being quiet, that would be great.

After all, they are related by blood, so it is impossible for them to completely ignore him.

If Luo Zhi couldn't move or talk anymore and just lay in the hospital, she could actually visit him every month...

When this thought came to his mind, Luo Cheng was frightened by himself at first, then he followed Brother Chen Bai's instructions, calmed down and pressed his chest.

It wasn't that she had any malicious thoughts, but what Luo Zhi did was really too much.

Luo Zhi came back for revenge and tried every means to destroy the Luo family. He drove his mother crazy and forced his second brother Jane to live in his shadow, and now he is going to drive her crazy.

Even the most gentle brother Chen Bai, who had always taken care of them, was exhausted by Luo Zhi's affairs.

I heard online that when Luo Zhi debuted, he used his power to bully others. After he opened a company, he wanted to insult the company's artists. After they refused, he used other means to hide them in the dark for several years.

She did not seek revenge on Luo Zhi, the person who hurt their family, but just secretly had such thoughts, which was not wrong.

Luo Cheng swallowed back what he was about to say.

She didn't even look at Luo Zhi again, she ran out of the ward without looking back, and hurried away with her father.

Ren Chenbai went out to see them off and closed the ward door behind him.

The ward finally became quiet.

The silence lasted for three or four hours. Because Mr. Ren had informed in advance that his family would visit him, the doctors and nurses on rounds deliberately avoided this ward.

When Ren Chenbai had dealt with some things and returned to the ward, everything was the same as when he left, except that it had gotten dark.

Because Luo Cheng cried so hard in her father's arms, Luo Chengxiu was afraid that his precious daughter would suffocate, so he asked someone to open the window. The window is still half-closed.

It's probably going to rain tonight, and the night wind blows in, bringing with it a damp and chilly feeling.

The silver moon was dim, and its cold light penetrated through the gap in the curtains that was blown open by the wind, and merged into the lamp that was still on in the house.

Luo Zhi was still sitting at the foot of the bed with her head down.

Ren Chenbai stopped at the door for a moment.

His eyes were complicated, but all the complexity was eventually covered by coldness. He walked in front of Luo Zhi and looked down at the embarrassed figure.

"Do you know you're wrong?" Ren Chenbai said in a calm tone, "You can't survive on your own."

Luo Zhi sat at the junction of light and moonlight.

Ren Chenbai stood in front of him, his usually gentle and considerate face was chilled by the cold moon: "Jian Huaiyi is cautious at every step, your family is selfish and cold-blooded, and the sister you want to protect is just a brainless idiot."

Luo Zhi remained silent and did not reply.

"You realized that I hate you, so you don't want to go home with me?"

Ren Chenbai half squatted down and pinched Luo Zhi's pale chin: "But I won't let you go."

"I really wanted to be with you." Ren Chenbai's tone was gentle, but his words were completely different. "But I didn't know that you were also a heartless monster that you couldn't tame..."

Luo Zhi's body followed this force and leaned silently into his arms, with her forehead softly resting on his neck.

Ren Chenbai looked at him and his arms stiffened unconsciously for a moment.

But that brief pause was immediately overwhelmed by a more vivid feeling of disgust and contempt. Ren Chenbai shook off his arm and stood up suddenly: "Get out! I don't know when you--"

He stopped talking suddenly.

Luo Zhi was thrown away by him, rolled twice and hit the corner of the bed heavily, but still had no reaction.

Ren Chenbai was suddenly overcome by a strong feeling of suffocation. He squatted down in a daze and turned the person in front of him over.

Ren Chenbai stood still for a long while, then slowly raised his hand and reached towards Luo Zhi's nose.

Luo Zhi's body was frighteningly cold.

He tilted his head quietly, his arms hanging limply, and his breathing was so light that it couldn't even blow up a feather.
