Hearing the growing noise outside, Dong Yike got out of bed.
She walked to the window and looked outside.
They even opened the window and leaned out to look in the direction of the sound.
The smell of burning food hit me.
Combined with the earlier sound of sirens, it's easy to conclude that there's a fire somewhere on campus.
“My boyfriend just told me that there was a fire on campus, and a lot of guys from his dorm ran out to put it out.”
"That's what one of the girls in the dorm said."
"Where's the fire?" another roommate asked.
"He didn't say either, I'll ask him again."
Wearing her pajamas, Dong Yike returned to bed and picked up her phone. For some reason, looking at the flashing police lights outside, she felt a sense of panic.

After thinking about it, she decided to call Yu Mobai.
The call was answered quickly, followed by a familiar voice, "Yike, why are you calling so late?"
His voice is so gentle.
This was Dong Yike's first thought.
Little did they know that Yu Mobai had calmed down for a while before deliberately lowering his voice to say this.
"Little Whitey, did you hear the sirens outside? My roommate said it sounds like there's a fire somewhere."
Dong Yike sat on the bed and said softly, "It's so noisy over there. Are you there too?"
"I... was there too."
Yu Mobai hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"Where is the fire? Did you go off to be a hero?"
Dong Yike laughed out loud, "Being an outstanding student makes a difference in one's mindset."
"Hmm...I guess so."
Yu Mobai forced a smile, "I have something to take care of, I'll hang up now."
"You still haven't told me where the fire is."
Dong Yike persisted in asking.
"Activity Center".
Upon hearing these four words, Dong Yike's smile froze on her face. "The activity center is on fire? What happened?"
"It's nothing serious, you don't need to come over, I'm right here. Don't you trust me?"
Yu Mobai said casually, "Alright, that's all for now, bye."
After hanging up the phone, Dong Yike felt uneasy, so she simply put on her clothes and ran out in the chaos.
At the building entrance, she ran into Yan Moxuan and several of her roommates, who shared the same sentiment.
Several people jumped out of the bathroom window.
"Hey, what's wrong with you?"
One can ask questions even in winter.
Yan Moxuan shook her head. "I only heard it from someone else."
A group of people quickly walked to the back of the teaching building, where a cordon was set up far from the activity center, and firefighters were working hard to put out the fire.
Outside, there was a group of boys dressed in pajamas and slippers.
Several teachers were maintaining order.
Dong Yike scanned the crowd with her beautiful eyes, but did not spot Yu Mobai.
Everyone was out, and Yu Mobai asked on the phone what he was busy with.
Was he allowed inside because he's the person in charge of the studio?
Soon, she spotted Wei Yufan and a few others at the front of the crowd.
Where is Yu Mobai?
Dong Yike approached and asked.
"He...he's still inside and hasn't come out yet."
Wei Yufan shook his head and said, "I don't know how it is."
"Why does he insist on going in to play the hero? Do you think he can handle a firefighter?"
Dong Yike frowned slightly. "What if he gets hurt?"
"He's trapped inside, he..."
Kang Enbo blurted it out without hesitation, and Wei Yufan didn't have time to stop him.
"Trapped inside?"
Dong Yike was taken aback for a moment, then asked again to confirm, "He...is he inside the activity center?"
Wei Yufan kicked Kang Enbo before nodding with a bitter expression, "He's the one who called me and told me to come out and call for help to put out the fire. But don't worry, he's fine. We were just... Hey, you can't go in!"
Before Dong Yike could finish listening to him, she bent down and crossed the cordon.
However, the teacher quickly stopped him, saying, "You can't go in, it's dangerous inside."
"Don't stop me, let me in."
Dong Yike was trembling all over, and tears streamed down her face. "My boyfriend is still inside. Let me in."
"No, you can't go in. You wait outside."
"I'm fucking going in, don't stop me!"
Dong Yike suddenly acted out, forcefully shoving a teacher away and running away while crying.
As she approached the entrance of the activity center, she saw a group of school leaders standing in front of her.
"How did a student get in here? Director Yan, please take her away."
Yan Wenbin waved his hand impatiently.
“Principal, I’ve seen this girl in the studio.”
When Yan Sumin saw the pretty girl, she quickly greeted her, "Why did you come in? It's dangerous. Go back quickly."
"I can't leave."
Dong Yike wiped away her tears hastily and said in a choked voice, "Yu Mobai is still inside."
"Are you from this studio?"
Yan Wenbin tilted his head and asked.
"I am his girlfriend."
Dong Yike's voice trembled slightly.
She watched as raging flames poured out of the window, thick black smoke swirled in the air, and even the windowpanes shattered into pieces. Her heart trembled.
She was unloved and uncared for since she was a child.
