Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Tug-of-War Between Three Girls

"Why don't you two go see a movie tonight?"

Dong Yike suggested, "You two hardly ever spend time together, so you should definitely create more opportunities for each other to be together. I think watching a movie would be a good idea."

"Before we talk about this, could you please take your hands out of my clothes?"

Perhaps because Dong Yike was on her side this time, Ji Mushu didn't directly swat away her hand, but only gave her a light reminder.

"Oh, I was just testing your strap to see if it had any elasticity for the lazy dog."

Dong Yike said with a grin, "No wonder boys like to accept these tapes, so that's what it feels like."

"You're so boring."

Ji Mushu rolled her eyes at her, "Don't you have one yourself?"

"I don't feel anything when I'm holding my own."

Dong Yike didn't take Ji Mushu back to school. The two of them turned at the intersection and headed down another road.

Where to?

"Of course I'll book tickets for you at the movie theater."

"Do you really want to see it?"

"You just told me to take the initiative, and you've already forgotten?"

There were no movie theaters near the school, so the two of them had to go to the Zhongjie shopping district, which was about half an hour away by car, to buy tickets.

When they arrived at the movie theater, Ji Mushu pushed Dong Yike away, saying, "Go and rest for a while. I can buy the tickets myself."

She walked to the ticket counter alone, where there were several young couples in line. She could choose a movie.

However, when it comes to watching a movie, this is the first time she's going to watch one with a boy, so she subconsciously starts to wonder if Yu Mobai likes the movie.

This period saw a flourishing of films, including Hollywood's "Iron Man," "Kung Fu Panda," and Hayao Miyazaki's "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea."

Ji Mushu rarely goes to the movies, and seeing that the couples in front of her had all made their choices, she became a little anxious.

"Is there anything you'd like to see?"

At this moment, the girl in the couple in front asked, "It's your birthday today, so I'll listen to you."

"Then let's watch Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, with Ponyo and Sosuke."

The boy said with a smile.

"Okay, then I'll buy tickets for this game, two tickets, thank you."

This brief conversation provided Ji Mushu with many reminders.

Since the boy in front likes watching Miyazaki Hayao's animated films, Yu Mobai should like them too, right?

"Hello, which movie ticket do you want?"

The young couple in front of us bought their tickets and left. The ticket seller asked us with a smile.

"Buy...Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea."

Ji Mushu said.

One sheet?

Two.

What time of show do you want?

"I asked the ticket seller."

Ji Mushu's heart tightened, and she secretly glanced at Dong Yike behind her.

At this moment, Dong Yike was looking at the movie introductions in the lobby out of boredom, completely unaware of Ji Mushu's gaze.

Dong Yike shared a lot of experience with her along the way.

For example, when choosing a venue, you must choose one at night, the later the better.

She looked up at the timetable.

The school closes the dormitories at 10:30, so it's just right for her to leave the school at 9:00.

Thinking of this, Ji Mushu raised her head and smiled, "Could you please provide two tickets for the 10 o'clock showing?"

"Okay, please wait a moment."

The ticket seller nodded and began printing the tickets.

Ji Mushu looked back again, then quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

I'm a little nervous about asking a guy to the movies for the first time...

She was so focused on watching a midnight movie that she didn't even think about how she would get back to her dorm afterward.

It's true that sometimes when girls get really into something, they can easily become a little forgetful.

After getting the ticket, she put it in her jacket pocket and returned to her original spot.

"Have you finished buying?" Dong Yike asked.

"Um, I'm going to the restroom."

Ji Mushu nodded slightly. "Where is the toilet?"

"It's quite a distance ahead, you go ahead and I'll wait for you here."

Dong Yike said with a grin.

Watching Ji Mushu leave, Dong Yike's gaze drifted to the ticket counter. She glanced at it again, and after realizing that Ji Mushu was no longer in sight, she hurriedly walked to the ticket counter. "Excuse me, two tickets for the 10 o'clock showing of Kung Fu Panda, thank you."

"OK."

The ticket seller started printing the tickets.

Dong Yike looked towards the toilet with a slightly guilty conscience.

Since it was she who suggested going to the movies, it essentially gave Ji Mushu and Yu Mobai some time alone together.

How could she not create some time for herself as well?

She's not stupid!

If Ji Mushu is going to book tickets, she will probably consider the evening session, since she needs to get back to her dorm before it closes off at night.

She had calculated the timing perfectly. Based on Ji Mushu's personality, she should have booked the 7 PM showing, so that she would finish watching the movie around 9 PM and have just enough time to get back to school!

She's figured out which wall in the school she can jump over in the last few days. Even if she can't get in, it doesn't matter. Maybe she can take things a step further by booking a room.

So she doesn't need to care what time the movie is showing; the later the better.

The 10 PM show ended right at midnight, which was perfect timing.

"Hello, the tickets have been printed."

Upon receiving the movie ticket, Dong Yike had already spotted Ji Mushu, so she quickly stuffed the ticket into her chest.

Her outfit today didn't have any pockets, which was a bit of a mistake.

"Are you alright?"

Dong Yike greeted her with a smile, casually inquiring, "What time did you buy your ticket?"

"what?"

Ji Mushu looked at her with great vigilance.
