This was the first time Ji Mushu had willingly accepted Yu Mobai's touch after experiencing such a chaotic situation.
With her warm embrace, Yu Mobai could sense the complex emotions in her heart, so he said nothing.
The chirping of insects continued all around, and the moonlight shone on the two of them, creating a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.
"Damn it, why did I fall for you?"
Ji Mushu straightened up, her voice still trembling with tears, looking utterly pitiful.
Yu Mobai loved hearing such a soft, sweet tone of voice. He smiled and said, "That's easy, I'm just very charming."
"Where is it big?"
Ji Mushu pulled Yu Mobai's collar to wipe away her tears and said fiercely, "You're a big jerk."
"I'm an asshole, but you still like me."
Yu Mobai pulled her into his arms again and gently nuzzled Ji Mushu's cheek. "Still crying?"
"Whether I cry or not is not up to me!"
Ji Mushu pushed him away, stood up angrily, picked up the shovel next to her, and buried the glass jar again.
Why bury it there?
Yu Mobai didn't stop him, he was just a little curious.
"Memories will be forgotten if you bury them."
Ji Mushu said, "That way I can forget you."
Upon hearing this, Yu Mobai chuckled and said, "Have you ever heard of a seed being forgotten after it's been planted? It's clearly taken root, sprouted, and remained planted in your heart."
Ji Mushu didn't say anything. After burying the glass jar, she clapped her hands and stuck a few foxtail grasses on top.
"You mean you're planning to bring our kids here later?"
Yu Mobai said with a smile, "I'll let my son see how the foxtail grass his mother planted is growing."
"Who would want to have your child?"
Ji Mushu snorted coldly, looked up at the sky again, and then turned and walked out of the abandoned train station.
"Who else could it be but you?"
Yu Mobai followed.
"You should go to Dong Yike about this; she'll definitely be willing to have your child."
Ji Mushu made a casual remark, and Yu Mobai immediately fell silent.
He didn't mention anyone else tonight except Ji Mushu.
As Ji Mushu walked out of the alley in front of the train station, she wanted to go home, but Yu Mobai stopped her. "It's so late. If you go home, you'll inevitably get a lot of questions. If Uncle Ji finds out that you came back with me, he'll definitely scold you again."
Upon hearing this, Ji Mushu stopped and looked Yu Mobai up and down.
"How about we sleep in the car tonight?"
Yu Mobai said with a smile, "I know a place that's good for camping."
Ji Mushu didn't say anything. Yu Mobai took her hand and started walking back. Ji Mushu tried to break free a few times but couldn't, so she just let him be.
Back in the car, Ji Mushu glanced at the sky again, unwilling to give up. "I remember being able to see the stars outside when I was lying in bed as a child."
"Life is always full of regrets and imperfections."
Yu Mobai smiled and turned on the radio, "These memories together are beautiful enough."
Ji Mushu pouted, "You always have so many reasons."
Yu Mobai didn't say anything, and drove straight to an open space and stopped.
Where is this?
It was very dark, and Ji Mushu could vaguely make out that it was a large open space.
"In a few months, this place will be a field of rapeseed flowers."
…
Yu Mobai said with a smile, "Do you remember the last time I brought you here?"
"Um."
Ji Mushu responded softly, resting her arms on the car window and her head on it. The soothing music inside the car and the sound of the wind outside blended together to create a symphony for the night.
She gazed quietly at the twinkling stars in the darkness and suddenly felt that it might be nice if things could stay this way.
"Dong dong dong".
The sound of knocking at the rear of the car broke the silence. Yu Mobai called out, "Wooden Comb, get out of the car."
At this moment, a table was set up in front of Yu Mobai, filled with food and drinks, and a small night lamp was placed on the corner of the table.
He sat in the trunk of the car and invited Ji Mushu to come and eat with him.
Ji Mushu tightened her clothes. "When did you prepare this?"
Yu Mobai smiled but didn't say anything. He couldn't very well say that this had been prepared in advance, could he?
He had originally defined this trip as a spontaneous "memory-remembering" journey.
The two sat in the trunk, quietly eating.
The darkness seemed to have a magical power, drawing the two of them slowly closer. Ji Mushu was, after all, a sentimental and romantic girl.
Everything Yu Mobai had prepared was truly romantic for her. She wore a serene smile, as if nothing had ever happened between them.
It was past midnight when Ji Mushu fell asleep with her head resting on his shoulder.
Yu Mobai gently carried her into the car, cursing, "If you don't sleep on my shoulder soon, you'll lose all feeling."
After closing the car door, Yu Mobai tidied himself up. With Ji Mushu not around, he had no mood to admire the moon and stars.
Such artistic things are not suitable for a rough man like him.
He wouldn't have pulled this stunt if it weren't for Ji Mushu.
It was still early, and he couldn't sleep, so he called Dong Yike to chat.
In the quiet night, Yu Mobai's heart gradually calmed down. He changed his position and began to discuss when he and Dong Yike could experience the joy of making a baby.
Dong Yike said that unless Mu Shumei makes up with him, there's no way.
"Damn, isn't this ridiculous?"
After hanging up the phone, Yu Mobai had no choice but to go back to his car and sleep.
The next morning, he took Ji Mushu back to the small county town for breakfast, and the two planned to visit their high school.
