Chapter 209 Completely Awake

"Of course we know that everything is beyond our control. Even if we wanted to hide her, someone would make her step forward." The sect leader has been protecting Nian Wanzhou ever since she entered the sect.

For more than 20 years, apart from the first competition she had to participate in, she has never had any other opportunities to appear in public or in the real world.

Sect members rarely venture out.

All for the sake of protecting her, aside from one or two times when their negligence led to the dragon cub being kidnapped, they never allowed the dragon cub to be exposed to danger again.

But everything is unpredictable.

After Nian Wanzhou first appeared in the world, the sect leader also mentioned to Qingyun what happened during the competition. These were all unexpected events that they could not have foreseen.

"Such a thing is true?" Qingyun scratched her head in frustration; she had never seen anything like it before.

Looking back on everything that has happened over the years, nothing compares to the absurdity this little dragon cub has encountered in the last few decades. It's simply outrageous.

A group of people stared blankly at Nian Wanzhou, unsure of what to do.

Until late in the year, Zhou was completely sober.

Looking at the group of people surrounding her, she knew she was back. "How long have I been asleep?"

“Nine days,” Lexi replied.

"Can...can I have something to eat? I'm so hungry and thirsty." She looked weakly at the crowd, having finally managed to transform into human form, begging for a bite to eat.

Only then did everyone notice that her face was pale and her lips were chapped.

Lexi quickly took out the food she had prepared beforehand. It's amazing that the first thing she did after waking up was to eat; she's as carefree as ever.

"Thank you, senior brother," Nian Wanzhou said weakly, then immediately started eating, enduring the excruciating pain in his body as he stuffed food into his mouth. While eating, he also took out a pot from his ring and gulped down water, making satisfied noises.

Everyone: You have a good appetite.

"I'm finally alive!" After eating and drinking her fill, Nian Wanzhou rubbed her stomach and sat down without any regard for her image. "Well, here's what happened..."

He got stuck before he even started speaking.

Nian Wanzhou knew that Xiao Tiandao had placed a restriction to prevent her from revealing the truth.

Instead of talking about other unimportant things, I decided to leave the most important things unsaid, as doing so would only implicate the people of the Heavenly Mystery Sect.

She pointed to the sky: "After my senior sister and I passed through the Nine-Story Demon Tower, we were ejected and landed in an unfamiliar place. As soon as we got out, my senior sister's spiritual power could no longer be suppressed."

The advancement was about to begin, but the tribulation lightning was slow; the black mist came for us first. Later, because I stopped the black mist from poisoning my senior sister, I angered it, so it wanted to eliminate me once and for all. Fortunately, I held on, even though I was injured like this. Seeing that it couldn't kill my senior sister and me, the black mist somehow ran away.

She finished speaking in one breath, looked at everyone, and sure enough, everyone had a bewildered and angry expression.

However, she did not intend to say everything. The remaining key points concerned the survival of the entire Tianji Sect, and she alone was enough to bear them.

She has enjoyed the protection and nurturing of the Tianji Sect for more than 20 years, and should therefore bear the corresponding responsibilities.

Everyone remained silent, their expressions grave.

They knew that Nian Wanzhou must have taken all the blame, which was why she ended up in such a miserable state.

"How did I get back?" Nian Wanzhou asked them.

Le Xi answered first: "It was Senior Sister who carried you out with Cui Kaichao and a few other cultivators. When we got there, everything was over. They were still unconscious and hadn't woken up yet, but you were the only one who woke up."

Nian Wanzhou was somewhat surprised.

Cui Kaichao actually saved her? This guy was the one she beat up.

Song Yan chimed in, "It seemed like a complete mess inside. I don't know what happened to you in there, but I saw Wen Ru and her group with dazed expressions as they carried you out. They kept shouting that they would protect you as they came out, and they seemed to be out of their minds."

That was truly terrifying. You didn't make a sound, and there was blood everywhere, leaving a trail of bloody footprints for Wenru and the others. Only when they got closer did they realize you were still breathing.

Nian Wanzhou thought to herself, "So that's how it is. But this is too strange!"

"I don't know why Cui Kaichao also climbed to the ninth floor. It seems he used some kind of magic weapon. I didn't let him pass, and we got into a fight. He actually... rescued me?"

Years later, the boat remained puzzled.

Lexi laughed when she heard this: "Is that so? I guess you saved his life inside, and he saved you to protect himself, and escaped under your protection. Otherwise, no other reason would make sense."

Nian Wanzhou: ......

Sect Master: "He is the closed-door disciple of the Xuanwu Sect Master. Naturally, he has prepared a lot of magical treasures in order to obtain good things in this secret realm."

The Grand Elder nodded in agreement.

They interrupted their conversation, saying, "Wanwan, let's check on your senior sister first. We don't dare to wake her up easily."

"Okay." Mian Wanzhou struggled to her feet, refusing Le Xi's help, and went to see Wei Wenru on her own.

She touched Wei Wenru to feel her condition.

It was still that familiar power of the Heavenly Dao, subtly repelling her, yet forced to accept the probe of her spiritual energy. It wanted to absorb her power, but dared not.

"Senior sister is alright, she'll wake up tomorrow." Nian Wanzhou withdrew her hand and lay down next to Wei Wenru.

His carefree and easygoing manner was truly adorable, making Lexi's heart flutter.

Seeing that everything was alright, the sect leader wanted to take Qingyun, who looked envious, out for a chat, but the other party simply wouldn't budge an inch.

The little dragon's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

Sect Master, Grand Elder: No, why are you dragons so obsessed with cubs? We know you have a hard time producing offspring, but you don't have to be so fixated on other people's cubs!

Yuheng wanted to get some attention from her daughter, so she asked with concern, "Wanwan, is there anything else that's bothering you?"

Nian Wanzhou then remembered the valuable items she had brought out from the secret realm and took them all out: "These are the things I obtained in the secret realm. I haven't handed them over to the sect yet. Godfather, could you do it for me?"

And also, I don't know what this bottle of pills is, but I reckon it's something good. Godfather, you take it!

Several storage bags were thrown on the jade bed, bulging and clearly containing many valuable items.

Yuheng was moved to tears. His good daughter was always thinking of him; she was such a sweet little girl!

"Wanwan is so good to me~" he said, then smelled the pill. Oh, he couldn't tell what it was, so he asked the Fourth Elder to take a look.

The Fourth Elder's eyes widened at the smell: "A Soul-Stabilizing Pill, and a top-grade one at that! It can enhance cultivation, calm the mind and soul, strengthen the spirit, reduce the invasion of inner demons, and make advancement easier."

"Little dragon cubs, did you rob the Nine-Story Demon Tower? You've looted all this good stuff!"
