Chapter 152: Taking Advantage of the Situation

Chapter 152: Taking Advantage of the Situation

"When we were here before, the dean rarely communicated with us, and we didn't know what he was doing!"

"That's right, we are the teachers who took the money first and did the job. They wanted us to take over too much, but they didn't give us the corresponding price!"

These teachers were talking to each other, and they seemed to have no psychological burden at all, as if whether these children were good or bad had nothing to do with them.

"Didn't the dean tell you where he took those children? Aren't you curious at all?"

Jiang Linan felt his headache getting worse, and he began to regret it.

He shouldn't have asked these teachers, because even if he did, he wouldn't be able to get any answers.

Sure enough, he returned empty-handed from the teacher and didn't get anything out of him.

Instead, the children came to Jiang Lunnan and comforted him: "Uncle, we're fine. Living here is worse than disappearing. If we could really disappear from the world, would we never see the dean again?"

Faced with the children's innocent questions, Jiang Linan felt for the first time that whatever he said was excessive.

"Of course not. They disappeared from the orphanage. Maybe they were taken away by the director. Don't think that leaving the orphanage is a good thing!"

Despite Jiang Runan's repeated warnings, the children ultimately did not have too many expectations.

After all, Jiang Linan is busy enough dealing with company affairs every day, and also looking for Xu Yangyang.

He really didn't have much energy to take care of these children's feelings.

A day passed, and he still hadn't found Xu Yangyang, and there was no news about the missing child.

He sat dejectedly on the bench where he and Xu Yangyang once sat, watching the children play, recalling every moment they had spent together, unwilling to go back to rest.

"It's getting late. You'll catch a cold if you sit here. Go back and get some rest."

Just when Jiang Linan was thinking about Xu Yangyang, he suddenly heard the voice of one of the teachers.

Looking towards the source of the voice, he met the woman's ingratiating smile.

Jiang Linan didn't say anything, just stood up and went back to the room.

However, the moment he opened the door, he suddenly felt something was wrong.

Few people came into the room where he was. In the past, only the cleaning lady would come to check on him occasionally.

After his aunt disappeared with Xu Yangyang, no one entered his room again.

But now there were obvious signs that someone had been in his room, and it was very obvious.

Do these people think he can't see it?

Jiang Runan snorted coldly, pretending not to notice, and went to wash up and sleep in the room.

Ten minutes later, someone outside the room spoke, "Did he really faint? Looking at his burly figure and those men, I don't think this man is easy to get along with."

"Don't worry, I've already put drugs in his room. How could you possibly be no match for him? He might have already passed out by now. No matter what you do to him, he won't wake up!"

"So the square-shaped incense they put in my room was a drug."

Jiang Linan was thoughtful. Did they take Xu Yangyang away in the same way last time?

However, Jiang Lunnan had already thrown away the incense, and he was not sure whether it was the incense that caused the problem.

The people outside the window were still muttering, with no intention of coming in. Jiang Runan was getting a little impatient and turned over, making some noise.

"Didn't you say he was knocked unconscious? Why is there still noise in the room?!"

The people outside were cursing and trying to leave, but were stopped by a woman's voice.

"Impossible! He must have fainted. Let's go in quickly. This opportunity is now or never. If we miss this chance, the next time he's on high alert and brings his men over to guard the house, we'll have no chance!"

The other person felt that what the woman said made sense, and after hesitating for a while, he walked in.

The door was opened, and Jiang Linan's body went limp, looking as if he had been knocked unconscious.

"Look, I said he fainted."

The woman whispered, but the man didn't believe her and walked over to Jiang Runan and hit him on the shoulder.

Although it was a bit painful, Jiang Linan did not make a sound and fell to the other side with the man's force.

"He really fainted..." The voice was a man. While muttering, he put his hands under Jiang Runan's armpits and dragged him up.

They walked for a long time, and at first Jiang Lunnan could still tell which courtyard they came out of and which way to turn.

But as he walked around for too long, Jiang Linan gradually forgot the way he came. In the end, he could only let him take him away first and then deal with the situation as the time went by.

"Snack."

It sounded like a mechanism being activated, and Jiang Lunnan suddenly had an idea: "Could this be the mechanism of the secret passage?"

Then, the man dragged him downwards again, and as if confirming his guess, the air around him became a little humid, as if it was underground.

But Jiang Lunnan couldn't figure out the direction with his eyes closed, let alone where this place was.

After a lot of effort, he heard the door open, and then he was thrown to the ground.

The man complained a few more times before leaving. The sound of his footsteps became farther and farther away. Only after the sound completely disappeared did Jiang Runan open his eyes.

It was pitch black and he couldn't even tell whether he was outside or indoors.

When he took in everything around him, he discovered that the room was not empty. There was a bed, a table and chairs, as well as some items needed for daily life.

Just when Jiang Linan thought that the other party intended to lock him up in this place for a long time, he saw Xu Yangyang lying unconscious on the bed.

"Yangyang?" Jiang Runan opened his mouth, only to find that his voice had become hoarse due to excitement.

He hurriedly got up, came to Xu Yangyang and held her in his arms: "Yangyang, are you okay? Wake up, it's me!"

Xu Yangyang was still unconscious. Jiang Linan pinched her philtrum and she slowly woke up: "..."

It was too dark. Xu Yangyang hadn't eaten well during this period and felt a little weak. For a moment, she didn't recognize who was in front of her.

"Yangyang, I'm Lu Nan. Are you feeling better?"

After hearing Jiang Linan's words, Xu Yangyang's consciousness gradually returned to her body and she recognized the person in front of her.

"Lunan!" Xu Yangyang threw herself into Jiang Lunan's arms, grabbed the clothes on his chest with both hands, and heard his steady and strong heartbeat, only then was she sure that she was really with Jiang Lunan and not dreaming.

She had been living in fear every day during this period. Now that Jiang Runan was by her side, instead of giving her a sense of security, it made her even more desperate.

"How did you get here? Were you caught by them too?" Xu Yangyang wanted to check Jiang Lunnan's body, but he grabbed her wrist.
