Chapter 451: The Battle of Dragon Roar Valley (Part 2)

Chapter 451. Battle of Dragon Roar Valley (Part 2)

"Hold on! For humanity!" a centurion roared hoarsely, leaping up and slashing his battle axe into the eye socket of a troll. But the next second, the enraged troll grabbed him and flung him against the rock wall.

Before the troll could finish venting his anger, several arrows shot from his newly formed blind spot and pierced his head.

Its massive body shook violently a few times before crashing backward, crushing several demon soldiers below who couldn't dodge in time.

In this narrow valley, tactics have become meaningless, and humans and demons have engaged in the most primitive and bloody meat grinder war.

Every inch of the land was soaked in blood, and severed limbs and remains were mixed together, indistinguishable from one another.

The battle in mid-air was equally intense.

Elite vampire warriors and flying half-demons relentlessly assaulted the human walkways on the rock face.

Figures from both sides continued to fall from the sky, some human defenders torn apart by claws, others demons with their wings pierced by arrows. Their corpses mingled with the chaotic battlefield below and vanished in an instant.

“Veralis, you go and keep Alama occupied,” Sigismund calmly assigned the task. “I’ll take care of that fat… guy named Lorenzo.”

He meant to say "fatty," but changed his mind at the last minute.

Despite his intense desire to personally end Alama's life, on the battlefield, reason had to prevail over personal grudges.

Alama, who possesses the Sunstone, is too effective against vampires. It would be most sensible to have the sun-proof Verallis deal with him.

However, he had clearly forgotten what a maverick Verallis was.

When Lorenzo reappeared on a towering boardwalk, Veralis didn't even greet this "prey" she had failed to capture twice in a row. Instead, she let out a sharp, strange cry and, like a gecko, darted up the steep rock face towards Lorenzo's location!

Sigismund's eye twitched slightly, but he was helpless. He had no choice but to face Alama and that loathsome sunstone himself, but fortunately, he wasn't entirely unprepared.

He took out an exquisite crystal bottle from his pocket, inside which swirled a thick, inky black mist. He uncorked the bottle and without hesitation drank the strange potion inside in one gulp.

Twisted black lines appeared on his pale skin, and he exuded a chilling aura.

"What is this?" Even with a major battle looming, Lin Jun maintained her strong thirst for knowledge.

"Something that can make me immune to the weakness of the sunstone,"

[Status: Dark Curse]

Lin Jun looked at the information displayed on the panel and remained silent for a moment... Okay, if Xiao Xi says it's a good thing, then so be it.

Sigismund said no more. With a casual gesture, the still-fresh blood on the ground seemed to come alive as it flowed and gathered, coalescing behind him into several weapons of various shapes, each exuding a bloody aura.

Meanwhile, Alama on the opposite side slowly drew the two-handed greatsword he was carrying on his back.

As he moved, the sunstone embedded in the sword guard suddenly burst forth with a blazing, dazzling light, like the midday sun, dispelling some of the chill in the valley.

"Dad!" Just as Alama was about to charge forward, his daughter Inanna's urgent cry came from inside the heavy armored creature behind him, abruptly stopping him in his tracks.

"That! That glowing thing!" Inanna's voice was filled with indescribable excitement. "I can feel it! It's incredibly useful to Puji!"

"You mean the Sunstone?!" Alama suddenly remembered the previous discussion about the fungal carpet needing sunlight, but at the time no one dared to set their sights on this heirloom artifact.

However, the battle situation was critical at the moment, and there was obviously no time to slowly study what kind of miraculous effects the Sunstone could have on the creep and the Puji.

"Let's get through this crisis first!" Alama roared, raising his greatsword, which gleamed in the sunlight, once more as he charged toward Sigismund in the center of the battlefield.

Through the narrow gap under her heavy armor and mushroom cap, Inanna watched her father's resolute charging figure and cried anxiously, "Boss, what do we do? The old man charged forward without even listening to me!"

Lin Jun, on the contrary, was much calmer and comforted him, saying, "Don't worry, don't worry. Even without Puji's help, we might still be able to persevere."

...

The crimson weapons floating behind Sigismund shot out. Alama roared and swung his Sunstone Greatsword into a blazing white halo, shattering all the incoming crimson weapons. The splattered blood intertwined with the sun-like sword light, producing a sizzling sound.

However, with each blood-soaked weapon shattered, Alama's arm sank.

The body, having just been rid of the blood toxins, is far from being in its best condition.

"What's wrong, Alama? Your sword has become dull!" Sigismund sneered, his figure advancing like a ghost, his pale fingers curled into claws, dark red light gathering at his fingertips, aiming straight for Alama's throat.

Alama dodged to the side, his greatsword slashing diagonally, forcing Sigismund back, but a bloody gash was still cut into his chest by the sharp claw wind.

Alama's breathing grew heavier, cold sweat beaded on his forehead, and the sunstone's light remained dazzling, but his condition was deteriorating.

At the same time, the human front gradually collapsed in the face of the demon army, which was superior to them in both quality and quantity.

In mid-air, Lorenzo's situation became even more precarious.

Veralis's speed exceeded his expectations. With her ghostly movements, she darted between the plank road and the rock wall, her twin blades transforming into a deadly silver storm, constantly adding new wounds to Lorenzo's robes.

His magical shield was constantly being destroyed by the relentless slashes, his spellcasting rhythm was completely disrupted, and he could only parry and dodge in a sorry state, unable to even complete a decent counter-spell.

Alama watched all of this, but was powerless to do anything about it. With each block, he could feel the soreness and numbness in his arms intensifying, and with each dodge, his steps became more sluggish than the last.

Sigismund spotted a tiny opening in Alama's defenses and fired a spear made of congealed blood from the side, piercing Alama's left shoulder!

"It seems the guardian of humanity is destined to fall here." Sigismund's voice carried a hint of pleasure as he slowly stepped forward, crimson energy surging in his palms. "When you betrayed me without cause, did you ever imagine you would end up like this?"

Alama used his sword to prop himself up, blood still gushing from the hole in his left shoulder, but his eyes remained resolute: "To climb up the ranks, you killed an entire village of innocent people, and you actually think this is 'unjustified'?"

"What do they have to do with you?!" Sigismund's voice suddenly rose. "Did they save your life? It was me! I risked being discovered by that old monster to drag you out of the dungeon! And you, all of you! You betrayed me for a bunch of people who have nothing to do with you! You drove me to the brink of despair!"

"Hmph," Alama spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, "How many times have we had similar conversations? At a time like this, you still want to argue about this?"

“Ah…you’re right.” Sigismund took a deep breath, and a dark red blood blade quickly took shape in his hand. “It’s just that at the end, I couldn’t help but say a few more words.”

The moment he finished speaking, the sunstone on the greatsword in Alama's hand suddenly burst forth with a blazing light far exceeding its previous intensity, like the final burst of a dying sun!

Wherever the light reached, the blood-red blade in Sigismund's hand emitted a "sizzling" sound, and its edges began to melt rapidly. Even the dark black patterns on his skin seemed to distort slightly in the light.

With this final burst of energy, Alama roared and charged forward, his sword aimed straight at Sigismund's heart!

However, a cold, silver arc swept past at an even faster speed!

Sigismund seemed to have anticipated this, and with his other hand he had somehow already grasped the curved sword at his waist. With a flash of light, the sword sliced through Alama's right arm, which was holding the sword.

His arm and the gleaming greatsword flew up together, tracing an arc in the air before crashing to the ground.

Alama staggered backward, blood gushing from his severed arm.

Sigismund flicked the blood off his scimitar, his tone mocking: "It's just to let you say a few more words. You don't think I'll let my guard down because of that, do you?"

He raised his scimitar and aimed it at Alama's neck.

Farewell.

However, just as the scimitar was about to strike, Sigismund suddenly changed its trajectory, the blade drawing a sharp silver arc as it slashed fiercely towards the empty space beside him!

Clang!

Two piercing metallic clangs rang out almost simultaneously!

With this sudden block, the blood energy surrounding Sigismund exploded instantly, turning into a pervasive crimson mist that reflected the two previously completely transparent knights.

Sigismund's gaze instantly swept past them, locking onto a familiar figure in the distance, holding a Puji and sporting striking pink hair.

It's that girl! Alama's daughter! What's she doing here? Did she control those two lurking Poogi?

Inanna, Puji, Yimeng, roommate...

A series of questions flashed through Sigismund's mind like lightning.

However, before he could sort out his chaotic thoughts, his roommate, who had previously been relatively well-behaved, suddenly erupted with almost manic excitement and desire, his shrill mental fluctuations nearly tearing his consciousness apart:

"Quick! That's it! The one that the woman is holding! Snatch it! Now! Immediately! At any cost!"

Sigismund: "???"
