But the child reached out and grabbed Wei Wangqing's sleeve, "I don't want to go back."
Wei Wangqing frowned. "Why?"
“I have no relatives left; they are the ones who handed me over to human traffickers.”
Wei Wangqing frowned; this was indeed a difficult situation.
"So what do you want?"
"Let me follow you. I will eat very little, but I will definitely make something of myself in the future to repay you."
Wei Wangqing remained noncommittal; she neither cared whether she ate a little or a little, nor did she need any repayment.
I just feel that this child is really precocious, but I don't know whether he will grow up to be good or evil.
"But what if I don't need your repayment?" Wei Wangqing wanted to see what she would do.
Many diners couldn't bear to see the child like this and wished they could adopt it themselves.
Besides, these people are dressed in fine clothes and clearly have plenty of money. What's wrong with adopting a child?
Is it not enough for you to open your mouth and eat?
These rich people just can't understand the suffering of the poor.
Shen Wenqi looked at Wei Yingling with reddened eyes.
Ling'er?
"Mother, please take this older sister in. She's so pitiful."
Wei Wangqing felt a surge of anger. Very well, she could tell at a glance that Ling'er was the easiest one to subdue among this group.
But how dare they use her son!
"Ling'er, some people are worth saving, but some people are not. You need to know that."
Ling'er seemed to understand but not quite, but he naturally listened to what his mother said.
Mother must have her reasons for doing this; he needs to be good.
Zhen'er looked at Shen Wenqi thoughtfully.
Shen Wenqi then panicked a little. Had she done something wrong?
She has no one she can trust. Everything changed after her mother's accidental departure.
When his father found out, he spent his days in tears and stopped caring about him altogether.
He died soon after, depressed and dejected.
And all the relatives changed their expressions, as if everyone had turned against one person.
Her former playmates and sisters all changed to a mocking attitude.
Finally, before she lost consciousness, she heard her dear second aunt say that she was going to give her away to a human trafficker, to sell her far away to a rural village, so that she would never be able to return to Quzhou.
She was unwilling to accept this; she wanted to escape.
Time and time again, she finally managed to escape.
But, having escaped the wolf's den, they entered the tiger's mouth.
The two men took her to the capital, saying she was a fine woman and could fetch a high price.
But this time, escaping wasn't so easy.
The repeated beatings could only damage her body, but could not destroy her will.
She could only feign submission and wait for her opportunity.
Finally, what she had been waiting for came to her.
She sensed their difference the moment they entered the restaurant.
That kind of noble air is something that others don't possess.
She was even worse than her mother; it could be said that she had never seen such a person before, whether in Quzhou or after arriving in the capital.
She felt that her opportunity had arrived.
But now, is she going to fail? Was she wrong?
Shen Wenqi was somewhat confused.
She just wanted revenge, she wanted to make something of herself, and she wanted to reclaim what rightfully belonged to her mother through her own efforts.
Wei Wangqing ignored these people; she was hungry and it was time to eat.
He said directly to the waiter, "Where's the food? Isn't it ready yet?"
"Hey, hey, alright, alright." The waiter had been so engrossed in watching the commotion that he forgot all about his work and hurriedly brought the dishes to the table.
But believe it or not, there's no one here actually eating.
This person, however, made them all lose their appetite, while she started eating.
Bloodblade made a gesture, and the team of soldiers left with the two slaves, but they didn't pay any attention to the child.
Meanwhile, Bloodblade and his companions remained hidden in the shadows, nowhere to be seen.
The restaurant was eerily quiet; no one seemed to have any appetite.
The lively and cheerful scene of before was gone.
Wei Wangqing considered today as a lesson for the two children.
Not everyone in this world is a good person, and sometimes, power determines everything.
Wei Wangqing sat down and invited them to eat.
"Ayan, Zhen'er, Ling'er, eat quickly, I'm starving."
Upon hearing this, Chen Zhiyan felt sorry for Wei Wangqing and quickly put some food on her plate, saying, "My lady, please eat."
"Um."
The family of four ate as if no one else was around.
Even though there were occasional subtle glances from those around him, Wei Wangqing didn't care.
It won't hurt anyone to see it.
Shen Wenqi stood to the side watching them.
It is both contemplation and reflection.
What should she do?
She knew she couldn't stay like this; she needed time to grow. Right now, she was no match for her second aunt or the Shen family. She needed someone to take her in.
The family in front of her was the best choice; they could provide her with protection.
What she said was true; she genuinely wanted to repay them. But why was this woman unwilling?
Recalling everything that had just happened, she knew she really wanted to save her; she could feel it.
But when did things start to change?
Yes, it seems to be that boy?
She discovered it.
It seems that she got a little angry around that time.
Actually, that was just her subconscious gesture, trying to gain sympathy, something she learned from the slave trader.
But now it seems that it doesn't work well.
At least, not for this woman.
Shen Wenqi felt she had found the key to the matter, and she had to continue to fight for it.
After Wei Wangqing finished eating, Shen Wenqi walked to the table.
