Chapter Eighty: The Wedding (Part Two)

The Fifth Prince was truly innocent this time; he was merely trying to curry favor with the future emperor. He then smiled at Wei Wangqing.

This must have terrified Wei Wangqing. What's going on with this Fifth Prince?

Feeling that he had performed well, the Fifth Prince turned and left, leaving Wei Wangqing completely bewildered.

Wei Wangqing stopped thinking about it and went to each table to express his gratitude.

Wei Wuyan thought to himself, people are really different. Who would have thought that the Sixth Princess would have such good fortune? And Chen Zhiyan, he is truly a blessed person!

Kyoto, no, probably no one in the entire Northern Dynasty didn't envy it.

Even he was one of them.

Then look at the Fourth Prince. He hasn't been married to the Fourth Princess for very long, and he's already been worn down like this.

Inside and outside the mansion, his fourth sister's lovers were everywhere, and he didn't let go of either men or women.

Marrying the wrong person is the worst thing ever.

As for him, the operation will be completed soon.

I imagine Forsythia suspensa is about to burst into bloom.

Oh!

At the same moment, Nan Xiangrong in the military camp gazed at the bright moon. He had risen through the ranks, yet he was getting further and further away from her. She was probably already married to Young Master Chen and about to enter the bridal chamber.

Nan Xiangrong gave a bitter smile; in the end, she could only miss out.

Wei Wangqing saw the guest out after drinking a few cups of wine, since she was a princess and no one dared to let her drink more.

Then they headed towards the new house.

Before entering, Wei Wangqing had prepared himself mentally, after all, tonight was his wedding night, and luckily he had drunk a few cups of wine to bolster his courage.

After all, this is a matriarchal society, so she's probably in charge of this kind of thing.

Wei Wangqing took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

Chen Zhiyan remained seated, waiting.

"Why didn't you rest first?" After saying that, Wei Wangqing felt that he had asked an unnecessary question. How could he possibly go to sleep first on his wedding night?

"Wait for Your Highness and Mistress to return," Chen Zhiyan said with a smile.

"Oh, well, how about we eat something first?" Wei Wangqing said, forcing himself to speak, otherwise he wouldn't have the strength later.

Chen Zhiyan blushed and said, "Okay."

Wei Wangqing gave the order to have two bowls of noodles made, saying it would be good to have some noodles for dinner.

But after finishing the noodles, the atmosphere remained awkward and silent.

Wei Wangqing thought that whether he stuck his neck out or not, he would be killed anyway, so he might as well finish the job quickly.

"Shall we take a break?" Wei Wangqing asked tentatively.

Chen Zhiyan felt the room was so hot that he could hardly breathe. Remembering his father's teachings to him last night, his face flushed even more.

Chen Zhiyan could only nod shyly.

Wei Wangqing walked to the bedside and lowered the curtain.

"Ahem, well, this is my first time too, so I might not be very good. Please forgive me."

Chen Zhiyan was so shocked that he couldn't speak. His Highness had never had a concubine?

Thinking back to how her father wanted to prepare some maids for her as part of her dowry before the wedding, but she refused because she didn't want to, she couldn't help but feel glad that he didn't want to share his prince with anyone.

But this only proves that His Highness is virtuous and belongs entirely to him.

Therefore, Chen Zhiyan was more pleased than ashamed.

"It's okay, it's my first time too. We can learn from each other."

Thus began their long learning journey.

The red candles burned out overnight.

The next morning, Wei Wangqing woke up first.

She was still not quite used to having a husband, and the feeling of suddenly having another person in her bed was naturally different.

But looking at Chen Zhiyan's sleeping face, Wei Wangqing still felt a sense of satisfaction.

Chen Zhiyan looked even better asleep, with a pure face and an obedient demeanor like a child. Seeing how dependent he was on her, Wei Wangqing couldn't resist leaning over and stealing a kiss.

Wei Wangqing felt that he had become bolder after that night.

Chen Zhiyan had already been awakened by Wei Wangqing's inner monologue, but he didn't dare to move until he felt a soft, warm object approach his lips.

Chen Zhiyan couldn't hold back any longer and grinned.

"The wife."

"Yes, my husband," Wei Wangqing replied with a smile.

In fact, Wei Wangqing had been struggling with what to call Chen Zhiyan. Before they were married, he could call him Young Master Chen, but calling him Zhiyan or Yan'er felt a bit uncomfortable. In the end, he decided to call him Ayan.

"Ah Yan," Chen Zhiyan murmured to himself.

He had never felt so happy before; it was as beautiful as a dream.

"Let's get up, have breakfast first, and then go to the palace to express our gratitude."

"Okay, sure."

"Don't worry, the Empress will not make things difficult for you. As for the Empress Dowager, he is not my biological father after all, and he won't say much anyway. After that, you will be in charge of the household, and you can do whatever you want in the future."

"Yes, thank you, my wife." Chen Zhiyan said with a smile. With such a considerate wife, what more could he ask for?

The happier he was, the more he felt that the secret in his heart was hard to talk about, like a huge stone pressing on his heart, making it hard to breathe.

After finishing their breakfast, the two headed straight for the Taiji Hall.

The Empress was pleased to see how well the two of them complemented each other.

Even though she didn't like this daughter, she couldn't help but say that the two of them were a perfect match when they stood together.

It's not about appearance, but rather the aura that blends in perfectly, making it impossible for a third person to intrude.

"Now that you have married a proper husband, you should start producing heirs for the royal family as soon as possible," the Empress instructed. For some reason, none of her younger generation had any daughters.

She's getting old and just wants to hold the princess's granddaughter.

Wei Wangqing felt a little embarrassed, as the two of them had just gotten married.

But outwardly it should be the case.

The Empress didn't say much to the two men, since she had nothing to say to this daughter, and sent them away.
