Chapter 109 The Secret in the Pen 2
The atmosphere in the main control room had just eased a little when there was a sudden light sound at the door.
Bian Miao stood at the door holding his coat, feeling caught in a dilemma.
Just now, seeing that Major General Lin and the Marshal were clearly in a state of tension, he wisely wanted to slip out for some fresh air.
When he reached the door of the lounge, he discovered that the terminal data card was still inserted into the main console interface. This was the encryption program card he had saved for three months and he couldn't throw it away.
"Um... I came back to get a card." He scratched the back of his head and walked very lightly, for fear of disturbing the people inside.
But just as he walked to the console, he heard Lin Yao talking to Ye Heng about the groove in the pen barrel. The edges were worn and it didn't look like decoration.
Bian Miao paused.
As the top hacker in Chiying, words like "groove" are like magnets, instantly attracting his attention.
He forgot about taking the card and leaned over to take a look:
"Major General Lin, which pen with grooves are you talking about? What does it look like?"
Seeing him coming over to ask, Lin Yao didn't hesitate and handed over the sealed bag:
"That's it. We thought it might be a clue, perhaps some kind of audio or video recording, but when we opened it, we found nothing. Furthermore, the grooves don't look right."
Bian Miao asked Lin Yao if he could try it out, and Ye Heng said yes.
Bian Miao took the sealed bag and looked at it over and over again while holding a pen.
His fingertips had calluses from years of keyboarding. When he touched the pen's groove, he paused, squinting at the light for a long time.
Suddenly his eyes lit up: "This is not a groove! Look at this arc--"
He took out a pair of micro tweezers from the tool kit next to him, carefully inserted them into the groove, and tried them at one-third and two-thirds.
Finally, I chose a point two-thirds of the way through and inserted it with some skillful force.
With a slight "click" sound, a small crack appeared in the groove, revealing half a piece of metal sheet hidden inside.
"Can this groove be opened?" Lin Yao and Ye Heng both came over. They had tried it before!
Bian Miao said that they probably just tried it casually and gave up when it didn't work.
But this is a special lock that looks like a decoration, but the key to open it is at one-third or two-thirds.
Then Bian Miao's fingers flew as if he was disassembling a precision instrument.
He first unscrewed the pen cap, revealing the empty refill slot, and then used tweezers to grab the half piece of metal and pull it out.
The whole pen snapped into three parts, and a metal frame the size of a fingernail was embedded in the middle of the pen barrel, which was covered with fine contacts.
"This structure..." Bian Miao frowned.
I put the disassembled parts in a row on the table and suddenly slapped my thigh.
"I know! This isn't a pen, it's a modular storage device! The pen is the outer shell, the chip is the guide, and this metal frame is the data carrier!"
As he spoke, he picked up the half piece of metal and pressed it against the contact point of the metal frame.
Then screw the chip-containing part at the bottom back to the middle, and finally put on the pen cap.
The original black pen turned into a small storage device with a silver wing emblem.
The badge on the pen cap fits perfectly into the interface of the reservoir.
"Oh my god..." Lin Yao stared at the things on the table, stunned for a while, "This person's ability to hide things is really great. He actually made the storage device into the shape of a pen."
Ye Heng picked up the reassembled storage device and stroked the cold metal shell with his fingertips:
"I'm afraid there's a very important secret hidden inside. Bian Miao, can you read the data inside?"
Bian Miao was eager to try it out, so he took the memory stick and inserted it into the terminal:
"Try it and you'll know! This interface looks like it's for military use, but I have an adapter... It's done! Decryption in progress!"
The control room fell silent again, with only the low hum of the terminal running.
Lin Yao looked at the code scrolling on the screen and suddenly remembered the layer of mud in the Mingsha Star Cave.
Someone had hidden the pen there on purpose, waiting to be discovered.
Who hid this pen?
When the decryption progress bar on the terminal screen slowly climbed to 98%, Bian Miao's fingertips hovered on the Enter key.
Lin Yao and Ye Heng were standing behind him. His action made Ye Heng's Adam's apple move unconsciously. The control room was so quiet that they could hear each other's breathing.
Ye Heng stared at the code jumping on the screen. He already had the answer in his mind, but he still wanted some tangible evidence.
Bian Miao pressed the Enter key, a slight movement that seemed to open Pandora's box.
An audio file instantly popped up on the screen, and when the folder opened, a string of recordings rushed to fill the screen.
Ye Heng's fingertips unconsciously clenched. Lin Yao reached out and pressed his shoulder, adjusting his voice: "Play it and listen."
Bian Miao double-clicked the file, and a burst of electrical noise came from the terminal speaker, followed by the sound of conversation.
"How's the situation with the Guyinworm..."
"Inject this into it..."
"Modify the capture data of the Guyin insect..."
Conversations, orders, and familiar voices shattered Ye Heng's inner hope completely.
It turned out to be him, and they had been on opposite sides for a long time.
