Chapter 12 New Form

Chapter 12 New Form

Lin Yao had just opened his eyes when he saw the cooling system of the virtual cabin emitting white mist.

He took off the headband and rubbed his temples with his fingertips.

The mental power value that popped up on the computer screen was so sharp that it hurt my eyes: 68%. It seemed that a lot of energy was consumed in the training ground today!

As such, the separation of energy is imminent.

Lin Yao drank a high-concentration nutrient solution. The cold liquid slid down his throat, suppressing the restlessness surging in his spiritual sea, while also replenishing his mental strength.

The recovery of mental power made the energy rings on the Killing Tree trunk brighter.

Lin Yao first carefully observed Shasha's current condition. The ten old roots grew out from the branches on the left and right sides. Since the two energies need to be separated now, it is better to distinguish them by left and right.

The first thing is to separate the two basic energies of ice blue and gilt.

"I'll divide the home among you first." Lin Yao's mental power was divided into four streams, three of which suppressed the gilded, bright green and scarlet energies; the other stream gently pushed aside the entangled energy flows and mobilized the ice-blue energy.

The ice-blue energy flowed gently like a tamed stream toward the treetops on the left. Wherever it passed, the silvery-white bark shone with a delicate pearlescent luster, and even the air was filled with the faint fragrance of grass and trees.

When all the ice blue changed the color of a quarter of the tree canopy, it also meant that all the killing power was channeled into one place.

Lin Yao quickly sealed this part, and then took action against the golden energy.

It really has a bad temper. The golden color is like a lit spark, rushing to the treetops on the right. The bark it passes by is instantly dyed with a cold metallic luster, with an unquestionable sharpness.

This process was more strenuous than expected. By the time the last wisp of gilded energy was driven to the right, Lin Yao's mental strength had been depleted by nearly half.

When it was sealed, the alarm of the optical computer started beeping in reality, but the effect was immediate.

Lin Yao stared at the flashing alarm icon on the light brain, his fingertips quickly operating on the virtual keyboard, and paused to replenish the high-concentration nutrient solution.

While waiting for his mental strength to recover, Lin Yao planned the next steps:

According to his speculation, the bright green was the healing and strengthening color imparted by the ice blue when it flowed through the energy ring, while the scarlet was the killing and intensifying color catalyzed by the gilded gold and catalyzed by the energy ring.

Since the origin lies in ice blue and gold, the best way is to let them fade back to their original state.

After his mental strength recovered to 95%, Lin Yao began to work on the "fading" project, adjusting the mental strength output mode to fine control.

Lin Yao separated the three suppressing energies into two, wrapping the bright green and scarlet respectively.

He did not drive them away directly, but guided them to gather at the center of the energy pattern, which was the starting point of energy dyeing.

When the bright green energy touched the inside of the energy ring, it seemed as if the pigment was washed away, gradually fading into pure ice blue, flowing back along the lines on the ring to the left canopy, and merging with the original ice blue.

"It's true." Lin Yao breathed a sigh of relief, but frowned the next second.

The scarlet energy seemed to have taken root, clinging tightly to the outside of the energy ring. No matter how the suppressing force pulled it, it just surged violently, even burning tiny scorch marks on the ring.

"You still dare to be stubborn?" Lin Yao increased his mental power output and at the same time mobilized the golden energy on the right side to form a return channel outside the energy ring.

This trick was indeed effective. The scarlet energy seemed to be attracted by the same power and finally began to fade reluctantly, turning into strands of red-gold light, flowing along the channel into the treetops on the right and merging with the gilded gold.

When the last trace of scarlet disappeared from the energy ring, the gold color in the bottom circle of two-color patterns suddenly became astonishingly bright, and fine runes appeared on the entire surface of the spiral pattern, as if to express gratitude for the cleansing.

Lin Yao took the opportunity to use his mental power to draw different marks on all the spiral patterns, so that the abilities carrying the same marks would automatically gather together, making it easier to separate and gather again.

Lin Yao also tried it himself. Various dyes faded, but the energies on both sides were not mixed together. Perhaps he was still afraid of not being able to maintain the balance and causing fluctuations!

"Now, it's time to find you a new container."

In order to allow the enhanced abilities after dyeing to pass, it is necessary to use these enhanced abilities to stimulate the growth of new roots.

So Lin Yao dyed the ice blue into bright green, and then condensed it into a thin stream of light, which accurately pierced the center of the nodule.

With a "buzz" sound, the nodule was instantly filled with bright green, and fine ice patterns appeared on the surface.

Unlike the previous slow growth, under the stimulation of enhanced energy, the bright green root tip suddenly broke through the nodule and extended outward at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Energy surges through the roots, as if injected with powerful power, making the spiral lines on the surface of the roots clearer and deeper, and also condensing a thin layer of crystals with a bright green luster, which is a manifestation of highly concentrated energy.

In just a moment, the first new root grew to the same length as the old root. It was thicker than the one grown with ordinary energy, and the tip was naturally curved, with a sense of enhanced flexibility.

The subsequent four new roots grew equally smoothly. The bright green energy was like a stream of clear spring water, continuously nourishing them and making the bright green color of these new roots even purer.

It also naturally grows ice-blue leaves with rounded edges and a lustrous luster, which have a more healing feel than ordinary leaves.

After dealing with the left side, Lin Yao turned to the treetops on the right.

The golden energy turned scarlet and became extremely violent under his control. This was the sharp feeling brought by the enhanced power.

He locked onto a nodule on the right branch, compressed the scarlet energy into a sharp energy blade, and stabbed it fiercely into the nodule.

The nodule was split open by the energy blade, and the dark brown root tip emerged with a strong evil spirit, growing wildly under the drive of the enhanced energy.

Countless sharp barbs grew crazily on the surface of the roots, like carefully polished blades. The star-shaped serrations at the tip opened and closed at an extremely fast speed, flashing a terrifying cold light.

Because the energy was too strong, the roots even made a sound of breaking through the air as they grew, and the scarlet energy burned out red lines on the surface. This was the unique mark left by the enhanced energy.

In a short time, five new roots on the right side have taken shape. They are more upright than the new roots on the left. The dark brown roots are dotted with gold and dark red, which looks very domineering. Scarlet leaves also grow along with them. The edges of the leaves are as sharp as knives, revealing a strong murderous aura.

Lin Yao, who has obsessive-compulsive disorder, also helped to transform the old root system. Seeing that the single color passed, it showed single color, and the double color passed, it showed double color. Finally, the aerial root vines were harmonious and consistent. Lin Yao jokingly said that he had started a hair dyeing business.

At this time, the optical brain was sharply sounding an alarm, and the mental power value had dropped to 21%. When Lin Yao's consciousness withdrew from the spiritual sea, his eyes went dark, but he couldn't help but curl up the corners of his mouth.

Have a good rest today and do some healing exercises tomorrow. After Lin Yao’s consciousness left the spiritual sea, he fell into a deep sleep.

Shasha was waving his aerial roots in the sea of spirituality, looking so happy!

-

The familiar sound of bamboo was like a string of jumping notes, drilling into Lin Yao's ears.

He woke up almost instantly, feeling light as if his body was filled with refreshing energy.

Lin Yao looked down at his hands. There seemed to be a faint halo lingering around his fingertips, which was a sign of his overflowing mental strength.

"This is..." Lin Yao was delighted and immediately sank his consciousness into the sea of spiritual energy.

The aerial roots on both sides of the spiritual sea stretched out very freely, and the energy on the left leaf flowed smoothly and fully. With every gentle sway, delicate healing particles diffused and nourished the entire spiritual sea.

The right side is full of fierce momentum, and the serrations on the edge of the scarlet leaves are flashing with cold light, but there is no trace of disorder. Instead, it reveals a sense of power that can be controlled freely.

Lin Yao greeted Sha Sha happily and shook his fist at Sha Sha in his spiritual sea. The ice-blue aerial roots immediately wrapped around his wrist, and the leaves rubbed his hand, making it itchy.

Both parties reached a consensus: they must try the power of the new aerial roots today!

He smiled and opened the light brain, his fingertips hovering over the icon of the training ground entrance, but suddenly an unread letter popped up in front of him, and the sender column clearly read "Delinwei".

The joyful mood deflated instantly like a popped bubble.

Lin Yao raised his eyebrows and opened the letter. It was sent last night. He was very tired yesterday, so he didn't have time to read it.

Cold interstellar text came into view: "Meet me in the lobby at 9 am. Go directly to the White Tower to handle the formalities. Don't be late."

His fingertips tapped on the computer screen, making a crisp "tapping" sound, and a sneer appeared on Lin Yao's lips.

His cousin's ability to choose the right time has become increasingly refined.

Lin Yao looked out the window. The sun was shining brightly, but the joy in his heart brought by the increase in mental strength had already been shattered by this sudden news.

More than a month has passed since he negotiated compensation with his second uncle's family.

Thinking of the scene at that time, a barely perceptible sharpness flashed in Lin Yao's eyes.

My second uncle is much more sensible than I thought.

Maybe he was in the wrong, or maybe he was afraid that the matter would get out of hand and affect the family's reputation.

Within a week after he made his request for compensation, all the star coins and resources he deserved were delivered to him.

Including the inheritance of the original owner's parents that they had previously seized, because Lin Yao was not yet 20 years old and could not inherit the inheritance left by his parents, all of them were returned to the De Lin family warehouse one by one.

The only thing was that the White Tower job and the necklace that had been promised seemed to have been forgotten, and there was no progress.

According to Imperial regulations, this kind of work change requires the presence of both leaders to confirm and sign the relevant documents before it can be filed in the system.

Lin Yao knew that it was useless to ask his second uncle for help. Even if he was tactful, he could not control De Linwei.

Therefore, we have to find the real person De Linwei in this matter.

Lin Yao went to ask several times.

"Cousin, when are we going to go and change the job we agreed to do at the White Tower?"

He remembered that when he first asked about the job, Delinwei was sitting in front of the dressing table trying on new jewelry. Upon hearing his words, she just glanced at him nonchalantly and said lightly:

"Why are you in such a hurry? I'm busy preparing for the wedding, so I don't have time to worry about this."

When I asked again later, the answer I got was similar.

Either "there are too many wedding details and I can't leave", or "there are still some things to be finalized at the Cang family, I'll talk to him after I'm done with this."

After so many times, Lin Yao was too lazy to ask anymore, and his mind was as clear as a mirror.

De Linwei is reluctant to give up this job and wants to drag it out. Maybe she is even hoping that he will give it up on his own initiative.

And that necklace has been in the "not found yet" state.

-

Lin Yao still remembered that the next day after discussing compensation, he went to De Linwei's yard.

At that time, this delicate young lady was drinking afternoon tea in the terrace teahouse.

He went to find her because of the necklace.

That was left to the original owner by his mother, and it must not fall into Delinwei's hands no matter where it ends up.

On the bamboo chair on the terrace, Delinwei was slowly picking up a macaron with a silver fork. The sunlight filtering through the parasol cast mottled shadows on her face.

She saw Lin Yao rushing in, even raising his hand gracefully to signal the servant to add more cups:

"Hey, what a rare guest. I was just about to ask someone to invite you. Have you received the compensation from my family?"

Lin Yao didn't sit down, staring down at her with a mocking tone:

"You owe me this. Don't act like you're giving me charity."

He paused, his eyes as cold as ice, "Where's the necklace?"

Delinwei bit off half of the macaron, licked the frosting on the corner of her lips with the tip of her tongue, and then slowly raised her eyes:

"A necklace..."

She blinked in pretense of thought, "Oh, you know, my family has been busy dealing with compensation these days and hasn't had time to look for him yet."

"Didn't you take care of it?" Lin Yao took a half step forward, and the wind from the terrace lifted the corner of his clothes.

"Delinwei, don't try to play tricks on me. You know whether it needs to find you or not."

"Clearly, clearly," Delinwei put down her fork, picked up the black tea and took a sip. The rim of the cup left a light red mark on her lips.

"But things have to be done one at a time, right? As for the necklace, the place where you dropped it is so big, I have to give you some time to search for it. I can't just conjure it out of thin air, right?"

She spread her hands, and the nonchalant tone in her voice pierced people like a needle, showing her lying with open eyes to the fullest.

"Take your time to look for it?" Lin Yao's voice suddenly rose. "I can't wait for you to take your time to look for it."

De Linwei seemed to be amused by Lin Yao's tone. She leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs.

"Lin Yao, you need to change your impatience.

It’s just an old necklace. Besides, this is not the place for you to act wildly…”

"Shut up!" Lin Yao interrupted her abruptly.

Delinwei's lazy look, as if it had nothing to do with him, and her contemptuous tone instantly ignited his pent-up anger.

He glanced at the bone china plates on the table and his eyes fell on the silver bread knife he used to cut his sandwiches.

When De Linwei was about to say something, Lin Yao moved as fast as lightning.

He grabbed Delinwei's face and grabbed the bread knife.

With a flip of his wrist, the cold blade pressed against Delinwei's fair cheek with a "snap".

The smile on Delinwei's face froze instantly, and her pupils shrank suddenly.

Just as she was about to scream, she was frightened by the cruelty in Lin Yao's eyes, and the sound got stuck in her throat and turned into a whimper.

"I'll say it one last time," Lin Yao's voice was low and dangerous.

The blade exerted a little force, and a white mark could be seen on the skin of Delinwei's cheek.

"Give me the necklace, now, immediately."

"I... I really didn't find it..." Delinwei's voice trembled and her body began to shake.

"Lin Yao, you are crazy! If you hurt me..." She didn't finish her words.

"Crazy?" Lin Yao sneered, and tightened his grip on the knife.

"Try making excuses again! Don't you treasure your face the most? I just don't know if the repair chamber can heal it after it's been cut open."

Before he could finish his words, he pinched Delinwei's face tightly.

The hand holding the knife began to exert force, slowly cutting a cut on her face, and blood gushed out.

"Ah--!" Delinwei finally couldn't help but scream, tears mixed with fear rolling down her face.

Even so, Delinwei still did not change her words, looking like a dead pig that was not afraid of boiling water.

Lin Yao caught a glimpse of the black rope exposed around her neck. The style was exactly the same as the original owner's memory!

Without thinking too much, he let go of Delinwei's face, reached out suddenly, grabbed the rope tightly and pulled it hard!

The black rope broke with a sound, Delinwei wailed again, and blood gushed out from her neck.

Lin Yao held the pendant in his palm. It was an ordinary, dull stone.

It’s not the azure stone in the original owner’s memory at all!

The moment Lin Yao was stunned, De Linwei covered the wound on her face with one hand and the wound on her neck with the other hand, crying:

"It's not that one! It's really not that one! I really haven't found it yet!"

Lin Yao held the fake stone, looking at the bleeding wound between De Linwei's fingers, and the undisguised fear in her eyes.

The hand holding the knife trembled slightly.

It's not anger, but a kind of empty, almost uncontrollable frustration.

Where is the necklace?

Not only did he hurt Delinwei that day, he also turned her jewelry room upside down.

If housekeeper Zhan had not brought people to stop him, Lin Yao felt that he would have demolished De Linwei's yard and made it exactly the same as the place where the original owner lived.

Even so, he didn't find the necklace.

After returning to his residence, Lin Yao rubbed his head dejectedly. Apart from the beautiful color, the necklace was nothing special in the original owner's memory.

He went to Delinwei to ask for it, also for the original owner, after all, it was the thought left by his mother.

The necklace was still there yesterday, but disappeared the next day. Lin Yao found it unbelievable.

So he decided to block Delinwei every day, holding a knife and asking her to show the necklace she was wearing that day to see if there was any trace of the original owner's necklace.

This went on for more than half a month, and Lin Yao had to admit that De Linwei was really patient, like a divine turtle.

At five o'clock in the morning, Delinwei's hovercraft had just slid to the side door, and he was able to flip down from the top of the wall wrapped in morning dew.

The knife in his hand clanged against the car door frame, the blade gleaming coldly in the morning mist. "What are you wearing today? Take it off and let me see it."

De Linwei closed her eyes and pretended to sleep. The car door trembled when the knife handle hit her, and her eyelashes fluttered like a frightened butterfly. But she could only grit her teeth and hum, "Lin Yao, are you done yet?"

The back of the knife knocked against the door frame again. She was finally helpless and raised her hand to pull her collar askew, revealing her gorgeous pearl necklace.

At noon in the banquet hall of the De Lin family, she was drinking tea with Gu Yun. When Lin Yao walked over with a tray of food, the knife in his hand had been unsheathed without her knowing when.

He used the back of his knife to gently hook the silk scarf around her neck, the tip of the knife barely touching her collarbone. "I heard you were wearing a black jade pendant?"

De Linwei was so shocked that she knocked over the teacup. She slammed her hand on the silk scarf, her knuckles pressed against the blade, and her voice trembled: "Lin Yao! How dare you!"

There was even one time when she went to the horse farm on the outskirts of the city. Just as she got on her horse, Lin Yao caught up with her on horseback, and the knife was stuck in the leather sheath next to the saddle.

As the two horses rode side by side, he did not take off the leather sheath. He pushed aside her ponytail that hung behind her shoulders and accurately hooked the thin chain hidden in the braid.

There was a small agate hanging from the end of the chain. He picked it up, looked at it for three seconds, and then threw it back: "Not this one."

Delinwei's hair was messed up by the scabbard, and she cursed with tears in her voice: "Mad man! Aren't you afraid that the scabbard will slip and hurt someone?"

He was indeed going mad.

When he was rummaging through her dressing box, the knife was on the dressing table, and the blade reflected the glitter of the box full of jewels;

When checking the maid's dessert plate, the tip of the knife would first knock on the edge of the plate three times, scaring the maid so much that her hands would shake.

Once, Delinwei wore a necklace inlaid with sapphires, and he chased her around the garden three times until he trapped her in the rose bushes.

He raised his hand and picked up the necklace with the tip of the knife. The gem gleamed a faint blue in the cold light of the blade. He squinted at the sun and said, "The color is wrong."

Delinwei's skirt, torn by rose thorns, was stained with mud, and her neck was red from being squeezed by the necklace. She looked at the tip of the knife just inches away from her throat, but her voice remained hard despite her stiff neck:

"No, that's it! It's no use gesturing with a knife!"

Her endurance is simply amazing.

At first, she cried whenever she saw the knife, screaming for the housekeeper to stop her, and even threw herself into De Lincheng's arms and cried, "He forced me with a knife!"

De Lincheng looked at the half-open knife in Lin Yao's hand and could only try to smooth things over: "Weiwei, if you really found it..."

But she cried even harder: "I said I didn't find it! He just used the knife to scare me!"

Later she stopped crying and hiding.

When he blocked her at the entrance of the alley, she could stare blankly at his hand holding the knife. He mechanically pulled out the necklace from around her neck, her knuckles turning white from the effort. "Another wasted effort today."

It was raining heavily that day. He was blocking the door of De's house with an umbrella. The knife in his hand was hidden under the umbrella, with only half of the handle exposed.

Just as Delinwei was about to get into the car wearing her cloak, he raised his hand and the blade slid out from the edge of the umbrella, leaving a cold light in the rain.

She lifted the collar of her cloak as usual: "I'm not wearing it today."

The rain flowed down the blade and formed a small puddle on her neck.

Delinwei then gathered her cloak, raised her chin slightly, and her eyelashes, wet from the rain, were stained with water droplets. She looked at the knife with an unusually calm look.

Lin Yao stared at her for a long time. The scar on her cheek had long faded and was no longer visible, but when the knife was pressed against her collar, her breathing did not even become disordered.

He suddenly felt a little ridiculous.

I feel like a trapped beast holding a knife, swinging at a stone that can't even be heated up every day, but the other party doesn't even bother to raise his eyelids.

"Delinwei," he sheathed his sword, his voice muffled by the sound of rain, "you're really great! Aren't you afraid that I'll post the video?"

De Linwei twitched the corners of her mouth but didn't laugh: "If there really was one, you would have posted it long ago."

"When you don't want to look for it anymore, I will 'find' it." This was what she said before getting on the car.

The hover car sped past. Lin Yao stood in the rain, the umbrella handle was hot from being gripped, and the water stains on the scabbard dripped down through his fingers.

He looked down at the knife he had used for more than half a month. The cold light on the blade reflected the stubborn determination in his eyes that refused to give up.

He finally understood that Delinwei probably had other uses for this necklace.

Okay, then let’s waste time.

He has plenty of time.

Lin Yao wanted to see what she could do with this necklace.

-

But now, the situation is strange, not to mention the necklace.

Lin Yao slid his fingertips across the screen to bring up the calendar.

There are less than two months left until Delinwei and Cangye’s wedding.

Logically speaking, the closer the wedding date gets, the more trivial matters there are, such as ordering wedding invitations, confirming the guest list, arranging the wedding process... Each and every one of them requires attention. How did she have time to deal with this job change?

"The sun rises from the west?" Lin Yao muttered softly, his fingertips tapping the table unconsciously.

Shasha in the spiritual sea seemed to have sensed his doubts. The ice-blue aerial roots on the left shook slightly, and the energy fluctuations on the leaves became somewhat brighter.

The gilded aerial roots on the right were stretched straight, and the serrations on the scarlet leaves were slightly open, as if alert to something.

Lin Yao patted Shasha's trunk soothingly, but he was quickly thinking in his mind, what happened to Delinwei?

Or is there some trick behind this that he doesn't know about?

He stroked his chin, and his eyes gradually became deeper.

No matter what, it was a good thing for him that Delinwei was willing to bring up this matter.

He was determined to get the job at the White Tower. As for the reason why Delinwei suddenly changed her attitude... he would eventually find out.

"Okay, since you are free, I will accompany you to the end." Lin Yao said to the computer screen, his tone without emotion, only a kind of determination to win.

He replied with an "OK", then closed the message interface and also turned off the computer. He had to prepare the materials.

Then, I went to meet this "busy and tough" cousin.

-

When Lin Yao stuffed the last spirit body matching report into the alloy file bag, the optical computer showed 8:50.

He walked out of the room carrying the bag, and the high-end hover car that had been waiting at the door started its engine. The De Lin family's newly bought hover car was said to have a fast acceleration and could withstand the third-level energy impact. It was perfect for using it to get to the appointment on time.

The hovercraft glided smoothly across the tree-lined avenue of the family territory. Lin Yao leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes to rest.

Shasha in the spiritual sea was extremely excited, and the ice blue and gilded air roots intertwined and tied a knot, as if simulating the action of signing a document.

He chuckled, his fingertips tapping a brisk rhythm on the document bag. He checked the materials inside three times, from identity verification to spiritual body registration certificate. Every page was affixed with the Imperial anti-counterfeiting label to ensure that there was no mistake.

With a "creak", the hovercraft stopped in front of the carved iron gate outside the main courtyard of the De Lin family. It was exactly nine o'clock.

The two guards in black uniforms were still guarding the gate. They stood as straight as two steel pillars, and the expressions on their faces were even stiffer than the last time I saw them. They looked like two emotionless sculptures.

The moment Lin Yao pushed open the car door, both of them looked at him in unison, scrutinizing him, without even a twitch of their lips.

Lin Yao was too lazy to deal with them and just took out his laptop.

He had no interest in going in and listening to Delinwei's mumbling. The complicated greeting etiquette in the main hall seemed a waste of time just thinking about it.

The moment the call was connected, Delinwei's voice was like a needle tempered by ice: "Where are you? I've been waiting in the main hall for ten minutes--"

"Outside the main courtyard, the hovercraft has just stopped." Lin Yao interrupted her, his fingertips casually sliding across the door handle.

"Let's go straight to the White Tower. We'll be taking a car anyway, so there's no need to go through the main hall and circle around."

There was silence on the other end of the phone for two seconds, and then there was a crackling sound, as if something was being swept to the ground.

Delinwei's roar nearly broke the speaker: "Lin Yao, what do you mean? I let you into the main hall to give you face! Do you think I am willing to be with you like this—"

"Beep—beep—" Lin Yao directly pressed the hang-up button and put the computer back into his pocket.

He leaned against the car and looked at the neatly trimmed lawn inside the main gate. Sure enough, less than half a minute later, he saw a pink figure rushing out from the direction of the main hall, and the hem of her skirt swept across the steps, creating a gust of wind.

De Linwei was obviously very angry. Her carefully styled curly hair was a little messy, and the file bag in her hand was squeezed out of shape.

She rushed to the iron gate and glared at Lin Yao through the bars. Her delicate makeup couldn't hide the anger in her eyes: "Can't you understand some rules?"

Lin Yao shook the alloy file bag in his hand, and the sound of metal clashing was crisp and pleasant. "The rule is to be on time, or does my cousin want the White Tower staff to wait for us?"

His carelessness made the frustrated Delinwei feel at a disadvantage.

The two guards at the gate still maintained their poker faces, but they couldn't help but glance over here out of the corner of their eyes.

Delinwei took a deep breath and rushed to her pink hovercraft: "Get in!" The anger in her tone almost burned through the soles of her shoes.

Lin Yao smiled and opened the passenger door. When he got in, he deliberately placed the document bag in the storage compartment between the two of them, with the corners of the bag facing De Linwei.

When the hovercraft restarted, he caught a glimpse of Delinwei typing in front of the computer with gritted teeth, her knuckles turning white from the exertion, and he didn't know which little sister she was complaining to about her rudeness.

Shasha in the spiritual sea suddenly poked his consciousness with the gilded air root, and the leaves turned towards Delinwei with interest, as if they had noticed something.

Lin Yao raised his eyebrows and looked over, only to see a light pink energy stream lingering in the hair beside De Linwei's ear. A white lily the size of a palm was slowly stretching out its petals, the edges of the petals were faintly pink and very gentle, and the stamens were sparkling with tiny rays of light.

That was Delinwei's spirit, a healing lily that was carefully cared for.

The lily's stem trembled slightly, and a few petals tilted towards Lin Yao, as if looking at him curiously.

Lin Yao withdrew his gaze indifferently, thinking to himself: A pure auxiliary flower is not enough to kill and fill the gaps in my teeth.

He shifted his attention, but the Shasha in his spiritual sea became restless, obviously interested in the lily, as if he had seen some delicious snack.

Shasha suddenly released a dangerous aura, the barbs on the gilded aerial roots instantly stood up, the scarlet leaves flashed with a bloodthirsty cold light, and it was so ferocious that it seemed as if it would rush out and tear the lily to pieces in the next second.

The lily beside Delinwei's ear instantly felt the fatal threat. The originally stretched petals suddenly contracted, and the flower stems trembled violently, looking alert and vigilant, and the pink halo on the edge of the petals faded a little.

"What's wrong?" De Linwei touched the lily beside her ear in confusion. Feeling its uneasiness, she looked at Lin Yao in confusion, as if asking if he was the one behind it!

Lin Yao also pretended to be stupid and spread his hands to say: What are you talking about? What can I do to your spiritual body?

He knew in his heart that it was the murderous aura that frightened the lily.

But he remained expressionless, and secretly used his mental power to pat Shasha, signaling it to restrain itself.

Shasha reluctantly restrained his breath a little, but the gilded aerial vines still stared at the lily, as if ready to pounce at any time.

Lin Yao shook his head helplessly. This must be the reincarnation of Taotie! He really wants to taste everything he sees.

The scenery outside the floating car window was rapidly receding, the spire of the white tower in the distance was getting closer and closer, and the silver-gray tower body was shining coldly in the sunlight.

Lin Yao looked at the spire and temporarily suppressed the little episode caused by Shasha. He had only one thought in his mind: to quickly complete the formalities and enter the White Tower.

Delinwei was still whispering to comfort her lily, her brows furrowed, obviously not understanding why her docile spirit had suddenly become so alert and fearful.

She did not doubt Lin Yao, and her previous question was just subconscious. After all, she knew clearly what Lin Yao's spiritual body looked like.

The atmosphere inside the car was a little subtle for a moment, with only the slight sound of the hover car moving echoing.
