Chapter 61: Red Shadow Legion 1

Chapter 61: Red Shadow Legion 1

De Linwei's wedding ceremony ended in such a hurry, and the time spent in total was not as long as the time Lin Yao spent on styling.

Lin Yao, who was following behind Ye Heng: What does it mean to be at a loss?

After all, for this wedding, he let the stylist fiddle with him for nearly an hour, even spraying his hair with styling spray, but the ceremony was so fast that it seemed like it was played at double speed.

As Ye Heng walked, he looked back at him, held his hand and shook it gently.

A lot of people have gathered around the two newcomers, most of whom are powerful people who are on good terms with the De Lin family or the White Tiger Legion.

De Linwei stood there in her elaborate and luxuriously embellished wedding dress, with a proper smile on her face, responding to the guests' blessings.

But the smile never reached his eyes. When he occasionally looked up at Cangye, there was always an indescribable complexity in his eyes.

Cangye stood with his back straight, his hands clasped in front of him, and nodded slightly when someone came forward to congratulate him.

He would only say a word or two when someone brought up topics other than the wedding.

Ye Heng brought Lin Yao to a distance in front of the two of them, and Cangye's eyes fell on Ye Heng.

"Major General Cang." Ye Heng's tone didn't convey much emotion, it sounded like a routine greeting when they met on the battlefield.

"Marshal Ye." Cangye's response was equally concise. His eyes quickly swept over Lin Yao and then fell back on Ye Heng's face. There was no extra conversation between the two.

Even the polite congratulations were omitted. A face-to-face greeting and a few words of greeting were enough to complete the most necessary social etiquette of this wedding.

Lin Yao nodded as a greeting.

After saying hello, Ye Heng took Lin Yao's hand and turned to leave. Their clasped hands swayed gently between the clothes.

De Linwei looked at the two people walking away. Lin Yao seemed to be saying something to Ye Heng. In order to hear clearly, Ye Heng turned his head towards Lin Yao.

Delinwei's hands at her side quietly clenched the hem of her dress, her knuckles turning white. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, trying to suppress the emotions surging in her heart.

But my chest felt like it was blocked by a ball of cold, damp cotton, making it stuffy and painful.

Cangye beside her hadn't even glanced at her the entire time. Suddenly, he spoke, his words icy and cold: "What? Are you reluctant to leave Marshal Ye again? Are you regretting it?"

This was the first time he took the initiative to talk to her after returning to the Central Star.

De Linwei's shoulders trembled violently, as if she was stabbed by these words, and her eyes turned red in an instant.

She quickly raised her head and looked upwards, forcing herself to hold back her tears. Her voice trembled slightly, "I don't regret it."

"No regrets?" The sarcasm in Cangye's eyes almost overflowed.

"I will never regret it." Delinwei took a deep breath. Although her voice was still trembling, it was filled with a desperate determination. "I will never regret the path I have chosen."

Cangye suddenly sneered, his laughter full of disapproval: "I hope you will always remember what you said today."

After saying that, he walked towards the group of guests, leaving Delinwei standing there alone.

She looked particularly thin in her gorgeous wedding dress amidst the noisy crowd.

She looked at Cangye's back as he blended into the crowd, and then subconsciously looked in the direction where Ye Heng and Lin Yao disappeared.

It felt like something was blocking her throat, and she couldn't hold it back. Warm liquid slid down her cheeks and hit the heart-shaped grass brooch on her chest, leaving a small wet mark.

Suddenly, a warm hand gently covered the back of her hand.

De Linwei turned her head and saw Gu Yun looking at her with heartache.

Gu Yun was wearing a lilac dress with a pearl flower pinned to her hair. She was frowning at the tear marks on her cheeks, and gently wiped away her tears with her fingertips:

"Weiwei, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Delinwei quickly turned her face away, raised her hand to rub her eyes, and used the action of adjusting her hair to hide her panic, her voice still a little hoarse:

"It's okay, Mom. It's just that the crystal chandelier is too bright and it's a bit glaring for my eyes."

Gu Yun followed her gaze towards the dome, where the glass lamps were reflecting dazzling light.

She didn't expose her daughter's lie, but just sighed and held her hand tightly:

"Silly child, if you feel uncomfortable, tell your mother. Cangye..."

When she mentioned this name, Gu Yun paused, and finally softened her voice, "He's leaving soon."

De Linwei lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes casting a shadow under her eyes, and did not respond.

"Actually, Mom thinks this is a good idea." Gu Yun patted the back of her hand, her tone filled with motherly concern.

"The front line is so dangerous, with bullets flying everywhere. It would be very difficult for you as a guide to go there. It would be much better to stay in the Central Star, where it would be safe and secure."

Having said that, Gu Yun couldn't help but frown again. That was true, and she thought so in her heart.

But until now, there has been no definite statement from the Cang family. They haven't said that De Linwei will move into the Cang family's house. Now that the marriage is done, De Linwei can't stay in her parents' home all the time. It would look terrible if the news got out.

Delinwei's fingertips suddenly grasped the hem of her dress, her nails almost digging into the fabric.

She knew what her mother hadn't finished saying. She had originally arranged the marriage in order to avoid Ye Heng, a madman who would later lose control and kill an entire army.

De Linwei also knew that Cangye had no interest in him, but as long as she could avoid Ye Heng and live a new life, De Linwei felt that nothing mattered.

But now she seemed to have jumped from a snake's den to a tiger's den. Cangye had trapped her in a gorgeous cage, without even a legitimate home.

It was clear in her memory of her previous life that Lin Yao and Cangye lived a good life after marriage, so why did everything change for her?

"Mom, I know." She took a deep breath and tried to make her voice sound calmer. "Don't worry, there's always a way."

Gu Yun felt a pain in her heart as if it were being pricked by needles as she watched her daughter trying to hold on.

She raised her hand to tidy up her daughter's hair, her eyes reddened: "I'm sorry for putting you through this, child."

Delinwei shook her head and forced a smile that was uglier than crying: "I'm not wronged."

The laughter of the guests in the distance made the mother and daughter's place seem even quieter.

Gu Yun wanted to say something, but saw Cangye had already walked out of the crowd and was heading towards the exit, without even looking at them.

De Linwei looked at his resolute back, and the tears that she had just suppressed began to well up in her eyes again.

She quickly turned her face away and buried it in her mother's shoulder, her shoulders trembling slightly.

Gu Yun patted her back gently, feeling mixed emotions.

-

When Lin Yao left, he said to Ye Heng, "Now that the formalities are over, shall we go home?"

Ye Heng said yes, but did not walk towards the exit. Instead, he led him towards the flower stand: "On the way, let's go and take a look."

"I've already told you I'm not interested." Lin Yao said this, but he followed him honestly, his eyes involuntarily glancing at the floating flower stand.

It is the third one from the ceremony platform. The metal bracket is wrapped with simulated vines and there are more than a hundred mineral flowers on it, with petals shining with crystal luster.

The two of them walked closer and took a few looks. There was really nothing special about this flower stand. The varieties of mineral flowers were the same as those on other flower stands.

"It's just an ordinary flower stand." Lin Yao poked Ye Heng's arm, "I guess Cangye was too bored looking elsewhere, so he stared at this thing in a daze."

Ye Heng caught Lin Yao's finger that was poking his arm and said, "Now that you're done, let's go home."

"Go home, go home." Lin Yao withdrew his finger and motioned him to go to the exit. The two quickly disappeared in the hall.

The weekend passed by in a flash, as if it was fast-forwarded by the Delinwei wedding ceremony.

If you were to ask what Lin Yao did this weekend, it was except going to Star Harbor to pick up Yu Ze on Sunday afternoon.

Taking into account this person's social anxiety, Lin Yao invited him to dinner at his home and let him be his roommate again. The rest was very ordinary.

Ye Heng spent the whole Saturday with him. Before going to bed at night, he told Lin Yao that there was something to deal with in the legion. He would probably be in the military headquarters from morning to night tomorrow and might not be able to come back.

Lin Yao nestled in his arms and said that she understood.

On Monday, Lin Yao and Yu Ze took a taxi to the White Pagoda together. As they squeezed into the back seat of a hover taxi, Lin Yao once again expressed his desire to buy a car.

It was the same process as the last time Delinwei brought him to make the change.

After both of them signed, the staff took back Lin Yao's authority card.

He then handed Yu Ze a new authorization card and said the same thing as before: "Use this card to go to the onboarding center to start work."

Lin Yao led Yu Ze into the onboarding center. Duomi quickly slid over to them. "Good morning, Guide Lin Yao. Is this the new employee?"

After getting Yu Ze's answer, Duomi enthusiastically said the words to welcome the newcomers, and even the tone of his voice when he called out to Sister Zhang was equally enthusiastic.

Chen Ke also appeared and took Yu Ze to familiarize himself with the counseling room. Before leaving, he said to Lin Yao, "Goodbye."

"goodbye."

Lin Yao also said goodbye to Sister Zhang and Li Xue. He also ran to say goodbye to Duomi and interrupted Duomi several times.

As Lin Yao's optical brain received a message, Duomi took out a sealed cup of warm energy tea from the round body and handed it to Lin Yao.

"This is a calming energy tea. I hope you have a happy day every day! Goodbye, Guide Lin Yao."

-

Lin Yao couldn't wait for Yu Ze any longer because he had just received the approval from the Red Shadow Legion and now had to rush to the military headquarters to sign the confirmation letter.

The transfer order that Ye Heng gave him had a validity period of ten working days, which means that he could submit the transfer application at any time within the ten working days, and this time period could be used to control changes.

After submitting the application and the legion agrees, Lin Yao must go to the military headquarters to sign and confirm within three days from the date of application submission. This date cannot be changed.

Once the military signs the confirmation, they will arrive at the expedition battlefield on the latest Red Shadow warship.

When Lin Yao and Yu Ze were checking the change agreement, Lin Yao's light brain suddenly vibrated.

His fingertips paused on the virtual keyboard, and the moment he swiped the screen, Ye Heng's message popped up: The latest dispatch notice has arrived, and I have to return to the front line at 12:00 noon.

The message ended with a line of small words, like a feather gently brushing across my heart:

If you don't apply today, I will go back alone again.

Lin Yao stared at the words "alone" for three seconds, and suddenly laughed softly.

Yu Ze, who was still reading the agreement carefully, looked up when he heard the voice: "What's wrong?"

"It's okay." His fingertips tapped quickly on the screen and replied to Ye Heng with three words: Can't catch up!

The moment he pressed the send button, there seemed to be a voice in his heart tempting him.

It was 9:50. Even if Lin Yao submitted his transfer application immediately, who knew how long it would take for the Red Shadow Corps to approve it? Or how long would it take at the military headquarters?

It takes at least twenty minutes to get to the military headquarters. From the White Tower to the military headquarters and then to the star port, the journey alone takes an hour.

The warship set sail at 12:00, which seemed impossible to catch up with no matter how you looked at it.

But the four words "alone" always flash before my eyes.

Lin Yao bit his lower lip and pressed the confirmation button for the file transfer application.

When the 'Application Submitted' prompt popped up on the virtual screen, he seemed to hear the sound of his own heartbeat hitting his chest, rapid and loud.

"What are you doing..." Yu Ze looked over curiously, and Lin Yao explained to him.

The first question Yu Ze asked after hearing this was: "Can I catch up?"

"Let's try it." Lin Yao closed his laptop, his fingertips still burning.

"There's another one in three days anyway. If I can't make it this time, I'll just wait for the next one."

Having said that, he subconsciously sped up the process of checking the agreement.

When the formalities were completed, Lin Yao checked the computer and did not receive any message.

Then he suddenly remembered something and asked Yu Ze, "Have you found a place to live on the Central Star? If not, I can ask someone to help you."

Yu Ze was stunned when he heard this, then waved his hand: "No, no, Zhang Zhang has already rented a house for me. It's in the third district, quite close to the White Pagoda."

"Zhang Zhang?" Lin Yao raised his eyebrows, a hint of understanding flashing in his eyes. He seemed to have gotten something. "Okay, as long as you have a place to stay."

When Lin Yao was teasing Domi in the hall, the message he received was the review reply from the Red Shadow Legion.

He took the energy tea that Domi gave him, said goodbye to Domi, and ran out of the White Tower.

After getting in the car, Lin Yao contacted Yu Ze again and told him that he was going to the military headquarters.

When Lin Yao arrived at the military headquarters, the Red Shadow Corps staff in charge of handling the formalities were somewhat surprised to see him.

Generally, guides who join the corps will wait until the last day to confirm.

To be honest, this was the first time he had seen someone like Lin Yao report for duty less than an hour after applying.

He was also surprised that the guide's name was the same as his marshal's future marriage partner.

However, the trained staff quickly adjusted themselves and helped him complete the procedures quickly.

Lin Yao also signed his name quickly.

After he signed, the staff handed him a temporary boarding card, which showed that the departure time was today at 14:00.

Lin Yao asked why the departure was delayed for two hours?

The staff told him that two Akagi warships would be heading to the front line today, one was the Akagi Y001 main ship at 12:00; the other was the Akagi C112 patrol ship at 14:00.

The warship will close the boarding passage ten minutes in advance, so it is definitely too late to catch up with the main ship now.

Lin Yao looked at the time again. Oh no, it was really difficult to catch up with the Red Shadow main ship at this time.

-

In the Red Shadow main ship, Ye Heng's office.

The holographic star map hanging on the wall was refreshing the star coordinates in real time, and the faint blue light spread over Ye Heng's cold and hard profile.

He sat in the command chair, tapping the table with his fingertips. Ye Mang, who was standing in front of him, was reporting with his head down, and behind him stood two of his personal guards, Xu Li and Zhao Kun.

Everyone stood tall and straight, with a calm demeanor, as if they had merged into one with the surrounding metal walls.

"... The vanguard squadron in the Seventh Star Region reported back that the Zerg's movement trajectory had deviated from predictions. A group of Zerg had broken away from the main group and was heading towards the Delta System."

Ye Mang's voice echoed clearly in the office. The light computer in his hand projected a three-dimensional image of the Zerg's activities. Dense red dots were wriggling on the star map.

"We have urgently dispatched a batch of high-energy explosives, which are expected to arrive at the front-line supply depot tomorrow night."

Ye Heng's gaze lingered on the star map for a moment, and his fingertips tapped on the words "Delta Galaxy":

"Send a team from the Second Army to intercept them. We must eliminate the Zerg before they enter the Delta system. We can't let them disturb the colonies there."

"Yes." Ye Mang immediately recorded the instructions on the light computer, but he caught a glimpse of Shang Yeheng's eyes sweeping across the light computer on the corner of the table again. The screen was dark and there was no new message prompt.

The clock on the office wall pointed to 11:30, and there was only half an hour left before the warship set sail at 12:00.

At this time, another member of the Royal Guard, Lin Yue, knocked on the door of Ye Heng's office.

"Enter."

Lin Yue came in and saluted Ye Heng:

"Marshal, the final debugging of the ship's weapon system has been completed. The energy shield will be fully charged in fifteen minutes, and the engine has entered the heating state in twenty minutes according to the scheduled program."

Ye Heng nodded slightly, but his gaze drifted involuntarily to the window. The outline of the dock seemed a little blurry behind the thick porthole glass.

He knew that the starship's launch procedures were strict to the second, and the shipboard system would start the final countdown at 11:45, and the boarding passage would be closed on time at 11:50.

Even if Lin Yao set out now to see him off, it would be difficult for him to catch up from the White Tower to the Star Harbor.

"Marshal," Ye Mang's voice pulled him back from his thoughts.

"Captain Yun Ling sent a message saying that the Feiyu Corps is about to arrive at the Chuyuan Galaxy and asked if he should wait for our fleet to arrive before making the jump together."

"No need." Ye Heng's voice returned to its usual coldness. "Let them go ahead as planned and rendezvous at the predetermined coordinates."

He paused, then added, "Collate the casualty data on the front lines."

At 11:40, the red countdown numbers were jumping next to the star map, indicating that there were 20 minutes left.

After Ye Mang and the others reported on the preparations for the starship's launch, the office became temporarily quiet, with only the sound of the computer tapping and the ticking of the clock's second hand.

Ye Heng picked up the laptop, his fingertips hovering over the input box. He wanted to send Lin Yao a message to ask about the situation. He wanted to know how his work handover was going. Was it going smoothly?

But I typed and deleted it, and finally locked the screen.

He knew very well that he didn't want to ask him these things. It would be better not to ask. Lin Yao would contact him when he was done with his work.

At 11:45, the shipborne system issued the first short alarm, prompting personnel at all posts to enter standby status.

The guards in the office immediately tensed up, ready to execute the order to set sail at any time.

Ye Heng refocused his gaze on the star map, his fingertips slid across the location of the Zerg hive, and he issued precise instructions.

It seemed as if the person who kept looking at the light brain just now was just an illusion.

But only Ye Mang, who was standing nearby, noticed that the joints of Ye Heng's clenched fingers had turned slightly white.

At 11:50, the notification tone of the closure of the boarding passage came through the communicator, cold and mechanical.

Ye Heng put away his laptop and stood up, adjusting the collar of his uniform. The badge on his body gleamed sharply under the light. "Notify all units: countdown to departure."

"Yes!" The guards responded in unison, turned and walked out of the office to convey the order.

Before leaving, Ye Mang hesitated for a moment and then asked, "Marshal, Guide Lin..."

Ye Mang is the only one who knows that Ye Heng has sent a message to Lin Yao. In fact, he also hopes that Lin Yao can go to the front line with them this time.

But the transfer order came too hastily. I had just finished my work last night and had just finished the meeting this morning when the transfer order came.

"He will come eventually." Ye Heng's voice was emotionless as he walked to the window and looked at the starport.

Ten working days, six of which have already been used including today. Lin Yao will submit his application by this Friday at the latest, and they will be able to see him by next week at the latest.

"The situation on the front line is complicated right now, so it's better for him to come a few days later."

At 12:00, the engine emitted a low roar and the entire warship began to vibrate slightly.

The starport outside the window quickly receded, eventually shrinking into a blurry point of light and being swallowed by the deep universe.

Ye Heng stood in front of the window, but his laptop never turned on.

He raised his hand and pressed his brow to suppress the inexplicable loss. They would meet again on the front line.

On the holographic star map in the office, the light spots representing the Red Shadow warships were speeding towards the distant battlefield.

Behind him was the gradually shrinking central star, in front of him was the front line filled with smoke, and in his light brain, still stored was Lin Yao's reply: Can't catch up!

-

In the guide dormitory area of the Chiying warship, Lin Yao was sleeping soundly on the bed in the single dormitory.

Time goes back to an hour ago. When Lin Yao rushed out of the military operations department holding the temporary boarding card, the time on the computer screen showed: 11:10.

"Main ship Red Shadow, Starport Military Berth A7, departing at 12:00 sharp, boarding access closed at 11:50."

The staff's words were still buzzing in his ears, and Lin Yao didn't even bother to look at them, because he insisted on getting the 12 o'clock boarding card. With a look of astonishment, he turned around and rushed towards the military headquarters gate.

The journey was forty minutes, and there was only forty minutes left to board the ship.

He stood by the roadside, waving to stop a car, holding the thin boarding card between his fingers.

The hover taxi hummed to a stop in front of him. He opened the door and shouted, "Master, to Star Harbor, as fast as possible! Any price is fine!"

The driver was a bearded uncle. Seeing that he was dressed in casual clothes but had military credentials and got on the car from the military headquarters, he raised his eyebrows and without asking any questions, stepped on the accelerator.

The magnetic levitation device made a sharp hissing sound, and the car body moved flexibly in and out of the traffic like a fish out of water.

Lin Yao clutched the front seat back tightly, feeling his internal organs shaking with the centrifugal force.

The Central Star Street scene outside the window was blurred, and only the time on the computer was ticking frantically: 11:15, 11:20, 11:28...

"Young man, if we go any faster, we'll be stopped by the patrol boat!"

The uncle swerved the steering wheel to avoid a truck and yelled,

"There's a speed limit outside the starport. This is the best I can do!"

Lin Yao looked at the outline of the star port in the distance, his heart pounding against his chest. "As fast as possible, thank you!"

When the number on the computer jumped to 11:40, the car finally stopped outside the star port.

It was ten minutes faster than the expected forty minutes. When Lin Yao jumped out of the car, his legs were weak.

Run into the starport and come to the special checkpoint for military berths.

The sentries here are like two iron towers, and the sentries hold energy guns with sharp eyes.

"Identity credentials, boarding pass." The sentry's voice was cold.

Lin Yao handed over the ID card he had prepared long ago, and after scanning, checking, and iris verification... after going through the whole process, the computer displayed 11:45.

There are five minutes left before the boarding passage is closed.

He grabbed the ID the sentry returned to him and ran towards A7.

The sound of shoes stepping on the ground startled several birds perched on the railings, causing them to flutter and fly away.

A wind started to blow in the anchorage area, so strong that it hurt his cheeks. The countdown warning sound of the Y001 ship in the distance seemed to be urging him to go faster.

The boarding passage was still open, but the red light at the entrance had begun to flash. A cold, mechanical voice came from the radio:

"Y001's boarding passage is about to close, 3 minutes remaining..."

Lin Yao felt his adrenaline rising rapidly. He poured all his strength into his legs and finally reached the end of the boarding passage.

His lungs felt like they were filled with scalding sand, and every breath was burning. His vision began to go dark, but he would only be considered successful if he reached the other end of the hatch.

But now he really seems to have no energy left.

Lin Yao bent down, holding the railing of the passage. His violent breathing made his chest feel as if it was being torn apart.

The countdown warning sound of the Y001 ship pierced the wind, "2 minutes remaining..."

At this moment, a figure suddenly appeared from the hatch at the other end of the passage.

He was an officer wearing the Red Shadow Legion's training uniform, the star emblems on his epaulettes gleaming coldly in the wind.

He obviously saw Lin Yao here, and waved his hand violently. His rough voice drifted over with the wind:

"That soldier! Hurry up! Just a few steps left!"

Lin Yao narrowed his eyes, barely able to see the other person's face, and was holding a communicator in his hand.

The other hand was gesturing rapidly, obviously very anxious.

"The passage is about to close! If you delay any longer, you'll miss it!"

He shouted again, with a hint of urgency in his voice,

"Think about why you came here! Grit your teeth and charge over!"

These words were like a needle, piercing into Lin Yao's confused mind.

He bit his lower lip hard and tasted a hint of blood. The pain actually made his vision clearer.

Yes, he rushed all the way from the White Tower to the military headquarters and then to the Star Port, and ran from the Star Port to here. He can't die in this last section of the journey!

"One minute left..." The mechanical voice on the radio sounded like a death warrant.

Lin Yao stood up straight, his knuckles turning white from the force of holding the railing.

He looked at the anxious face at the other end of the corridor and took a deep breath. Even though his lungs felt like they were stuffed with a ball of red-hot cotton wool, he forced himself to hold the breath.

"Yes! Just like that! Come over here!" He was still shouting, and even took half a step forward, as if he wanted to reach out and pull him.

Lin Yao suddenly raised his foot. Every step felt like he was stepping on the tip of a knife. His calves kept shaking, but his eyes were only focused on the cabin door that was getting closer and closer.

The sound of the wind, the warning sound, and the officers' shouts mixed together to form the drumbeat urging him forward.

When he was three steps away from the hatch, he heard the "click" sound of the channel robotic arm beginning to retract behind him.

"quick!"

Lin Yao used up his last bit of strength to step in. The countdown on the radio just reached zero: "Boarding access closed."

The next second, Lin Yao leaned against the cabin wall, gasping for breath, looking very embarrassed.

He clutched the corner of his clothes tightly, letting the sweat flow down his neck into his clothes.

Zhao Ke, the officer standing next to him, was still holding back his anger.

I've been in Chiying for five years and I'm used to seeing sentries charging forward despite their injuries, but I've never seen anyone so out of breath after running for a while.

He put his hands on his hips and was about to scold him, but as soon as the word "you kid" came out of his tongue, his eyes swept over what Lin Yao was holding in his hand.

The silver boarding card is the color of the boarding card unique to guides.

In the Red Shadow Legion, guides are very valuable.

There are more than 30,000 people in the entire legion, and there are less than 100 guides in total. All of them are protected by sentries. Who has ever seen anyone running so desperately?

The second half of Zhao Ke's sentence, "Why do you come to the Legion when you are so weak?", was stuck for a moment. The impatience on his face seemed to be frozen for a full two seconds.

He suddenly took a half step back, his soles making a soft sound on the metal floor, and even his voice softened an octave: "Hey, you are... a guide?"

His reaction was so big that Lin Yao looked up at him while panting.

The fat on Zhao Ke's face had loosened, and the sharpness in his eyes had completely faded, leaving only a bit of helpless tension.

He rubbed his hands at his sides, wanting to help but not daring to. He looked as if Lin Yao was a glass ornament that would shatter if touched.

How valuable is Chiying's guide?

Let me put it this way, last time a guide sprained his ankle during training, the sentries from the entire logistics camp lined up to deliver ointment, and even the medical officer personally stayed on duty for three days.

Zhao Ke looked at Lin Yao, who was still gasping for breath, his face was so pale that it was almost transparent, and beads of sweat were rolling down his forehead quickly and densely. His heart suddenly skipped a beat.

He's been panting for almost five minutes. Is he hurt?

Zhao Ke didn't dare to delay any longer, and turned around and shouted towards the other end of the cabin:

"Hey! Is Instructor Sun here? Come to the No. 1 boarding bay quickly! There's a new guide... I'm a little out of energy!" After shouting, he felt something was wrong and added,

"Quick! Bring some nutrient solution!"

After shouting, he turned back, squatted beside Lin Yao, and lowered his voice:

"Guide, please hold on a little longer, the trainer will be here soon.

Our Chiying's guide is very valuable, how can we go to such trouble...

If I had known you were a guide, I would have come to pick you up earlier. There would have been no need to rush."

Lin Yao coughed twice and finally managed to squeeze out a hoarse voice: "No...it's okay."

How could Zhao Ke dare to believe it? He stared at him without blinking, as if he was looking at some treasure.

He muttered to himself that if any sentry dared to let the guide get so tired, he would probably be chased and beaten by the entire legion.

After a while, the hatch slid open with a hiss.

Instructor Sun, dressed in a white uniform, hurried in carrying a medical kit. Seeing Lin Yao leaning against the wall, his brows immediately furrowed. "What's going on?"

"Sister Sun, you're here!" Zhao Ke stood up and stepped aside as if she had seen a savior. "He rushed onto the ship at the last second. He ran too fast."

Instructor Sun squatted down and skillfully took out the detector. He scanned Lin Yao's wrist while muttering:

"How can a guide work so hard? If he can't make it this time, there's always the next one."

Lin Yao leaned against the cabin wall, listening to Zhao Ke nodding in agreement beside him, which seemed to relieve a lot of his fatigue from running all the way.

Instructor Sun stared at the data for two seconds, then looked up at his face and softened his voice:

"It's okay, I'm just exhausted."

She retracted the detector, her eyes fell on the temporary boarding card in Lin Yao's hand, and reached out to take it:

"Let me check your registration information."

The card glowed coldly in her palm. Instructor Sun held the card against the computer, and the words "Verification Successful" immediately popped up.

This means that Lin Yao’s name does exist in the Red Shadow Legion system.

After confirming everything was correct, she returned the boarding card. Seeing that Lin Yao's fingers were still trembling slightly, she took out a nutrient solution from the medical box:

"Drink this first to slow down your efforts."

Lin Yao was finally able to breathe smoothly now. He took the nutrient solution and bit open the tube. The sweet liquid slid into his throat, and the burning sensation was immediately relieved by a lot.

He was finally able to leave the bulkhead and watched Instructor Sun packing up the medical kit. Although he moved quickly, he never forgot to pay attention to his condition, glancing at him from time to time.

Instructor Sun packed up his things and reached out to help him. "I'll take you to the dormitory to rest."

His legs were still a little weak, and he held on to the other person's arm to stop shaking.

Zhao Ke followed the two of them and sent Lin Yao to the dormitory.

The two told him to have a good rest and left.

Lin Yao wanted to take out his laptop and send a message to Ye Heng.

But after the adrenaline faded, all that was left was tiredness. He originally wanted to close his eyes and rest for a while, but ended up falling into a deep sleep.
