There's a reason why Liu Lang arrived so late.
Because his weapons were selling so well.
Aside from the various basic and unexpected mistakes that occurred on the first day, Liu Lang actually managed to create a perfectly good standard longsword on the second day, mastering it very quickly.
Liu Lang stood there stunned after creating his first weapon.
Uncle Shi rubbed his shoulders and saw Liu Lang staring blankly at the weapon. He couldn't help but tap him on the head!
"Still daydreaming! I've never taught such a stupid apprentice! After you finish this one, go make another one. This afternoon, try forging without a mold. You haven't even mastered the basics yet, so don't be secretly congratulatory."
Liu Lang shrank back and quickly nodded, turning to the side to begin the second round of forging.
Uncle Shi looked at the standard longsword, which had a noticeable difference in size between the right and left halves. Although it was only this one flaw, it was still not perfect.
It's only been a day and it's already like this. It's even faster than Uncle Shi's personal disciples. It really is a good material for making equipment.
Uncle Shi nodded with some satisfaction and tossed the weapon Liu Lang had forged into the training ground next to him.
Before long, students began to use the flawed swords in the practice area for training.
Amidst the flashing blades, one student's sword was snapped in two, leaving both combatants stunned.
"What the hell? Is Uncle Shi's sword really that bad?"
"Hurry up and get a different one. When we get back after practice, we'll talk to Uncle Shi. Even in the practice area, it's best not to put swords with obvious problems up there."
However, after switching to the new weapons, they were shocked to find that the new standard-issue sword had been broken again!
"Damn it! How did Uncle Shi's sword become so bad!"
"Hey, don't get agitated. I'm thinking... is it possible that the problem isn't with Uncle Shi's sword, but with the sword I have?"
This student discovered a key point: after testing, he was surprised to find that his seemingly unsound longsword could easily cut through any weapon of the same level.
Even Uncle Shi's perfect standard sword is no exception.
"You want to buy swords from the practice range? I won't give you a discount, it's full price."
"Yes, thank you, Uncle Shi!"
Uncle Shi looked at the two departing classmates with a completely bewildered expression. What was going on?
Why buy a flawed sword from the practice range instead of a perfectly good weapon?
He then sighed and looked at Liu Lang's newly produced standard-issue long spear. The shaft and the spearhead were fine, but why did it feel a bit short?
"If it were any shorter, it could be fitted with a crescent moon and become a short halberd."
Uncle Shi sighed and threw it into the practice field.
I'll give Liu Lang some more guidance this afternoon. He's already practicing very fast, but there are still quite a few minor issues.
So Uncle Shi put up a sign that read "Selling with Integrity," and in the afternoon he watched as Liu Lang forged a large number of weapons.
Unfortunately, none of them met Uncle Shi's standards, and they were all sent to the practice field.
"That's enough for today. You really need to address this problem of you always spacing out. None of the other divine craftsmen's abilities are like yours..."
Uncle Shi couldn't help but mutter, and even revealed that he had taught other master craftsmen students before.
However, Liu Lang didn't listen carefully; instead, he suppressed the upward curve of his lips.
So... my abilities are really that abnormal?
Hehehe~hehe~hehe~
Uncle Shi couldn't help but rub his forehead, and Liu Lang was lost in thought again.
Okay, that's all for today. I'll go back to the shop.
He has learned very quickly; at least his personal disciples would not be able to forge the entire series of weapons from scratch in two days.
If I hadn't already retired, I really would have liked to take Liu Lang under my wing.
"Perhaps I can teach him the Divine Forging Technique tomorrow..."
After much deliberation, Uncle Shi finally decided to teach Liu Lang his best skills.
This potential master craftsman is truly remarkable. Even if he doesn't take on apprentices, he shouldn't be left in such a long period of inactivity before he has a master.
The two students took their weapons and went to spar with others that very day, winning one battle after another with their flawed standard longsword.
The graduating students were stunned.
"Holy crap? A divine artifact?"
"Where did you buy them? Didn't you get them all from Uncle Shi?"
"You're cheating! It's not like it breaks with just one touch!"
Finally, the two students couldn't withstand the pressure and told everyone what had happened that day.
So Uncle Shi, who should have closed early, watched in bewilderment and astonishment as batches of students came to buy his equipment.
Of course, it would be better if it were bought from a store.
"No? Are you guys crazy? The weapons in the training ground are nowhere near as good as those in the store. They're all flawed."
Uncle Shi's words did indeed attract the attention of the other students. After all, even flawed weapons were like this, so what about perfect weapons...?
Bang! Crash!
Uncle Shi's eyes widened. He...he couldn't be seeing things, could he?
How could my shield be pierced so easily?!
"Uncle Shi, I want this spear!"
The student's eyes lit up, and he handed over the money.
Uncle Shi stared blankly at the spear. Wasn't this the spear he had thrown into the training ground at noon?
This was made by Liu Lang!
What Uncle Shi found most unacceptable was that all the weapons he bought afterward were made by Liu Lang.
What's going on?!
Back in his dormitory, Liu Lang listened to Liu Shenjun boasting about his impressive skills in fighting the instructors that day, but his mind was filled with thoughts of the weapons he had forged.
Standard longsword, Sharpness attribute +1
Standard long spear, Hardness attribute +1
