Chapter 147 - Hot Potato

Chapter 147 - Hot Potato

The Frost Silence scabbard in front of Chu Linyuan's knees also emitted a low resonance!

"Fragments of the Frost Silence Sword!" Xie Zhao exclaimed, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes.

Chu Linyuan clutched the fragment tightly, his cold face expressionless. But deep within his deep eyes, something long dormant seemed to ignite, surging with an indescribable sharp light. He said nothing, simply carefully storing the fragment in the deepest part of his storage bag.

"Congratulations, Senior Brother!" Su Tang immediately turned the camera to Chu Linyuan (although only his stern profile was captured).

After buying the key items, everyone was in a good mood. Xie Zhao was even more excited, dragging Su Tang to pick and choose in front of several stalls selling spiritual herb seeds.

"This! 'Nine Nether Ghost Face Mushroom'! It sounds exciting! Plant it in the herb garden and use it as a seasoning for Junior Sister Luo!" Xie Zhao pointed to a bag of pitch-black mushroom spores that exuded an ominous smell.

"No!" Luo Hongyi immediately refused, glancing at it with disdain, "It's so ugly! It ruins the beauty of my herb garden!"

"Then this one! 'Bone-Eroding Konjac'! It's said that the soup made from it can poison even a god!" Xie Zhao pointed to another bag.

"Who do you want to poison?" Luo Hongyi rolled his eyes.

In the end, under Luo Hongyi's sharp tongue, they bought a few bags of relatively "normal" abyss moss and spores of evil-resistant mushrooms, as well as a few tenacious evil thorn seedlings, and prepared to go back and embellish the overly harsh scenery of Guixu Sect.

Xie Zhao paused as he passed a stall selling trinkets. Hanging on the stall were strings of small ornaments woven from unknown animal bones, colorful stones, and abyssal vines. They were crude and simple, yet possessed a wild and untamed charm.

Xie Zhao's attention was drawn to one of them. It was a simple headband woven from thin, tough black vines. At the end of the headband was a fingertip-sized, polished, dark red stone. It felt as if flames were flowing within the stone, emitting a faint warmth. He picked up the headband, stroking the warm stone with his fingertips, a mischievous smile flickering in his peach-shaped eyes.

"Boss, how much is this?" Xie Zhao asked.

"Five low-grade spirit stones." The stall owner was an honest physical cultivator.

Xie Zhao paid the bill readily. He took the hairband and strolled over to Chu Linyuan. Chu Linyuan was standing at the edge of the market, gazing at the swirling evil clouds in the distance, his profile hard and cold.

"Senior brother," Xie Zhao smiled and handed the headband with dark red warm stone to Chu Linyuan, "Here, it's for you! A fashion item from the Abyss! It looks so cool when you tie your hair! It's much better than that rag of yours!" He was referring to the ordinary black cloth ribbon that Chu Linyuan used to tie his hair.

Chu Linyuan's cold eyes swept across the rough headband, then fell on Xie Zhao's expression of "please praise me!" He pursed his lips tightly and didn't immediately take it. Passing monks cast curious glances at him.

"Here!" Xie Zhao handed it forward again, deliberately shaking the warm stone at the end of the headband. "Look, it even has a small stove function! Tie it around your wrist to prevent your hands from freezing when practicing swordplay in the cold weather!"

"Pfft!" Su Tang, who was standing next to them, was the first one who couldn't hold back her laughter and burst out laughing. The camera of the photo stone was fixed on the two of them.

Luo Hongyi's red lips curled up in a playful arc.

Tie Niu scratched his head and said in a muffled voice, "Second Brother... Senior Brother doesn't seem... cold?"

The little white deer held the rabbit in his arms, looking at it curiously with his clear eyes.

A very faint blush seemed to pass through Chu Linyuan's ears again (?).

Under Xie Zhao's persistent gaze and the vague onlookers around him, he finally grabbed the hairband extremely quickly and with a bit of awkwardness! His movements were so fast that they caused a gust of wind to blow!

Without even looking at it, he stuffed the hairband into the deep pocket of his sleeve! As if it was a hot potato!

"Let's go." The two cold words carried an unquestionable meaning of the end. Chu Linyuan turned around and strode towards the direction of Guixu Sect. His back in black clothes revealed a subtle... haste?

"Hey! Senior brother! Wait for me! I haven't tied you up yet!" Xie Zhao immediately chased after him with a bright smile on his face, as if his plan had succeeded.

The setting sun cast a long shadow over the skeleton of Guixu Sect's newly built Talisman Array Tower. The group who had gone out for "team building" returned with a full load.

Su Tang immediately went into the herb garden and carefully spread the newly bought spores, muttering to herself, "Ghost face mushrooms...konjac...never mind, I'll just plant some normal ones...and the evil thorns as a wall around the square..."
