Chapter 28-Departure, Immortal Sect Competition
After months of continuous rain, the evil clouds over the God Burial Abyss actually cracked, a rare crack.
The day of departure has arrived.
The Guixu Sect gathered in the barely cleared "square." The atmosphere was somewhat subtle: no passionate oath-taking, no solemnity of getting ready, only a kind of... a broken-pot calmness and an eagerness to stir up trouble.
Chu Linyuan stood at the front, clad in black robes, the Frost Silence Sword slung across his back. His aura was as deep and profound as the ocean. Beneath his right sleeve, a dormant dragon pattern emanated a chilling, murderous aura.
The red tassel on his waist was particularly dazzling in the pale sunlight.
He had an expressionless face, his gaze piercing through the thin clouds of evil and looking into the unknown distance, as if he was not going to attend a grand event, but to carry out a predetermined cleanup mission.
Xie Zhao stood half a step behind him, dressed in a cyan robe. His Jinghong talisman brush sat beside the simple wooden hairpin that held his hair together. His usual, slightly nonchalant smile played on his face. His peach blossom eyes scanned the crowd before settling on Chu Linyuan's upright figure. Deep within them lay a complex emotion that only he could understand. His fingertips unconsciously twirled the hem of his sleeve.
Luo Hongyi was still wearing the same coarse cloth skirt that had been washed white, but she had a bulging, simple shoulder bag made of animal skins around her waist, which was filled with "little gifts" she had carefully prepared - bottles and jars of various strange colors and restrained scents.
Her beautiful face was filled with a hint of lazy excitement, and her fingers tapped her bag lightly, as if she was thinking about who would be the first to taste it.
Tie Niu was carrying a huge bag tied with animal skins and rattan, which contained his "dry food" - several hard stones the size of millstones, soaked in evil spirits.
The horns on his head gleamed in the sunlight, and strength surged beneath his bronze skin. He asked in a deep voice, "Sister Su Tang, can I really take this stone...inside? Don't let anyone use it as a weapon."
"Don't worry, Senior Brother Tie Niu!" Su Tang patted her chest. She had tied her hair into two small buns today, which made her look particularly energetic. Her psychic eyes were sparkling, and she held her precious photo stone tightly in her arms. "I've studied it. It's normal for physical cultivators with insufficient storage bag space to carry some 'weight-bearing training equipment'! This is called... adapting to local conditions! Making reasonable use of the rules!" In her other hand, she was still holding the thick jade slip of "Secrets to Victory".
The white deer stood at the back, holding the moon rabbit in his arms. The moon rabbit seemed to have sensed something, and its ruby eyes scanned the surroundings vigilantly, making a low "gurgling" sound in its throat.
The white deer gently stroked its back and whispered to it, "Be good, let's go outside... there are delicious foods..."
She also carried a small bag on her back, which contained the "rations" of the Moon-Eating Rabbit - a few pieces of strange minerals that Su Tang specially selected with her psychic eyes, which contained weak spatial fluctuations.
Uncle Chen hunched over, slowly sweeping the last bit of gravel into the garbage pile in the corner. Then, leaning on the broken broom, he swept his cloudy old eyes over the people who were ready to go, and muttered hoarsely: "...When you go out, don't embarrass yourself by sweeping the floor..." He said no more, as if this trip had nothing to do with him, and he was just a sweeping servant responsible for cleaning up the mess.
"Is everyone here?" Xie Zhao cleared his throat and glanced at the group. "Then where's our 'luxury mount'? Boss Su Tang?"
"Here I come!" Su Tang excitedly ran to the black iron door frame and pulled out a small, dusty array disc from under the groove where the invitations were inserted. She carefully inserted a low-grade spirit stone into the center of the array disc.
A faint spiritual light lit up from the array plate and shot towards a relatively flat open space not far away.
Ripples appeared in the space, and the CP account made a brilliant appearance.
The pre-repaired KeCP was about three meters long, made entirely of a dark, rusty, and repaired metal of unknown origin. Its shape was extremely crude, resembling an enlarged, flattened shuttle. Three large, eye-catching characters were scribbled crookedly in low-quality red paint on the boat:
On the side of the hull, there are two extremely abstract outlines of small people holding hands, with "Chu Xie is rio!!!" written in smaller words next to them.
Su Tang and Xie Zhao's eyes seemed to be twitching, and they kept looking at Chu Linyuan, as if they were afraid that they would be frozen into ice in the next second.
"Get on board!" Chu Linyuan's cold voice cut off all the uneasiness and embarrassment.
He took the lead, appearing in a flash on the spartan deck of the KeCP. His black robes, set against the rusted metal, looked even more awe-inspiring. He turned his back to the crowd, as if even a glance at the paint job would taint his eyes.
Everyone boarded the ship with varying expressions. Iron Bull's massive body stepped on the deck, uttering a teeth-grinding groan.
Luo Hongyi boarded the boat and sat down on the animal-skin-covered seat. Bai Xiaolu sat beside her, holding Bunny. Uncle Chen sauntered to the stern, found a place to sit, and, with a broom across his knees, closed his eyes, as if he were at a market.
Xie Zhao was the last one to jump onto the deck. He looked at Chu Linyuan's back, which exuded a chilling aura of "keep away from strangers." He then glanced at the glaring "Chu Xie is rio!!!" on the side of the ship, and couldn't help but twitch his lips. He walked to the metal panel of the control console.
"Hold on tight! Our Guixu Sect's 'KeCP' is on its maiden voyage, our goal - the Immortal Sect Competition!"
Xie Zhao took a deep breath, and with a bit of heroic spirit (and shame) of giving up, he quickly tapped several rune buttons on the control panel with his fingers!
At the same time, a golden light flashed at the fingertips, and an acceleration talisman was accurately attached to the driving magic circle at the core of the flying boat!
Buzz——!!!
The entire dilapidated "KeCP" shook violently, emitting a huge roar like a dying beast under the heavy burden! The rusted rivets all over the hull were trembling!
The three big blood-red words on the bow seemed to be about to jump out in the violent vibration!
Under the horrified and disdainful gazes of everyone (including the Moon-Devouring Rabbit), this bizarrely shaped, eye-catchingly painted, and deafeningly noisy wreck, as if it had been viciously kicked in the rear, suddenly launched forward with an almost frantic, almost frenzied, attitude completely inconsistent with its dilapidated appearance! It instantly tore through the thin cloud of evil, leaving only a twisted trail of black smoke and a deafening roar that echoed for a long time over the Burial God Abyss.
The boat pitched violently, and Tie Niu clung to the side to avoid being thrown. Luo Hongyi protected her satchel filled with "gifts" and cursed, "Xie Zhao, hurry up and reincarnate!" Bai Xiaolu hugged Bunny tightly, her face pale. Su Tang screamed with excitement, raising her photo stone to snap at the rapidly retreating evil cloud and the swaying "Chu Xie is rio!!!" on the side of the boat.
Chu Linyuan remained firmly planted at the bow, his black robes rustling in the wind, his figure seemingly nailed to the deck. He gripped the scabbard of the Frost Silence sword tightly, his knuckles turning slightly white from the exertion.
The huge sense of shame brought by the three words behind him and the physical impact caused by the violent acceleration of the hull seemed to be forcibly suppressed by him under the cold mask.
Xie Zhao held onto the control console to steady himself, looking at the cold and hard back of Chu Linyuan in front of him, and feeling the violent forward momentum of the broken ship carrying the entire sect. A hint of madness and determination flashed in his peach blossom eyes.
Damn, the Immortal Sect Competition?
The scum of the Immortal Alliance?
Wash your neck and wait!
The poor devils are coming! With their shabby ships and nuclear-level "surprises"!
The "KeCP" dragged billowing black smoke and deafening roars, like a black comet from the Burial God Abyss, full of evil taste and destructive breath, and savagely crashed into the place where fairy light was lingering and wind and clouds gathered.
