Chapter 9 - Earth Vein Vision
The coalition forces of the four major sects retreated in disarray, leaving behind the devastated mountain gate and a "down payment" of 100,000 spirit stones. Within the Guixu Sect, however, the atmosphere was far from relaxed.
Chu Linyuan stood at the edge of the pit, his gaze fixed on the depths. The dark-gold dragon pattern on his right arm burned intensely, like a red-hot iron, frantically absorbing the lingering malevolent energy in the air and the increasingly distinct commotion emanating from the depths. Far from subsiding with the end of the battle, the ferocious dragon might emanating from the depths of the God Burial Abyss seemed fueled by the blood and malevolent energy, becoming even more violent and oppressive.
"Brother, something's not right." Xie Zhao's playful smile faded as he walked over to Chu Linyuan, his eyes fixed on the dragon pattern on his right arm, which glowed brightly and seemed to be about to burst forth from his body. "The dragon vein... is erupting much faster than expected! And... this aura..."
Boom——!!!
Before Xie Zhao could finish his words, a terrifying vibration ten times more violent than before suddenly erupted from the ground!
The entire Burial God Abyss seemed to roar in fury! The dilapidated halls of the Guixu Sect groaned under the weight, and large chunks of rock peeled off the cliffs! The earth heaved and cracked violently like a boiling sea! An unimaginably thick, almost tangible, dark red pillar of malevolent energy, wrapped in destructive energy and a deafening dragon's roar, suddenly rose from the bottom of the huge pit in front of the mountain gate, violently soaring into the sky like a volcanic eruption!
The beam of light was dozens of feet in diameter! It shot straight into the sky, tearing the dark red rain-covered sky apart! A violent energy storm instantly swept through, distorting space and annihilating rocks wherever it passed!
"roar--!!!"
The dragon's roar shook the heavens! Filled with the rage, pain, and destructive madness of being bound for eternity! Within the pillar of malevolent light, a massive, dark red dragon, condensed from pure malevolent energy, could be vaguely seen twisting and roaring madly! The dragon's might was like a physical tsunami, fiercely impacting everyone's soul!
"Not good!" Xie Zhao's face changed drastically! The power of this dragon vein's evil energy was far beyond expectations! It had reached a level that was enough to threaten a Divine Transformation cultivator! And the core of the light column was facing Chu Linyuan!
Chu Linyuan bore the brunt of the attack! The violent dragon energy seemed to have found an outlet, surging madly towards the dragon pattern on his right arm! He groaned, his body trembling violently, and his face instantly turned pale as paper! The dragon pattern on his right arm seemed to come alive, twisting and expanding wildly, emitting a scorching and chaotic light! The evil energy in his body was instantly aroused, like a wild horse running wild, colliding wildly in his meridians! The cold Frost Silence Sword emitted a piercing hum, and the sword body was instantly covered with a thick layer of inky black ice, as if even it was about to be frozen by this terrifying evil energy!
He tried to pull out his sword to suppress the dragon vein.
"Brother!" Xie Zhao exclaimed, rushing forward without hesitation! His hands were as fast as lightning, and his fingertips were instantly bitten. His blood essence mixed with the vast spiritual power of the talisman within his body, and he wrote in the air! Complex and mysterious runes, flashing with dazzling blood light, instantly took shape at his fingertips!
"Xie Zhao! Come back! Are you trying to kill yourself?" Luo Hongyi shouted, but it was too late. Xie Zhao's hands were so quick that the Life-Sharing Talisman had already taken shape. And interrupting it after it had taken shape would damage the souls of both of them...
"Blood Talisman: Life-Sharing Contract!"
Xie Zhao roared, his voice filled with unprecedented determination! He thrust his hands forward fiercely! Dozens of blood-red runes, imbued with his essence, blood, and primordial rune power, instantly penetrated Chu Linyuan's back like blood swallows returning to their nests!
A strange, warm, and resilient force instantly erupted within Chu Linyuan's body! It was as if a golden dam had been forcibly built within the torrent of his raging, uncontrolled evil spirit! That dam didn't block the flow, but rather channeled and shared the burden!
Chu Linyuan's entire body trembled violently! He clearly felt a pure and vast warm power, carrying the aura of Xie Zhao's life, flowing continuously into his body through the rosy chain, forcibly sharing nearly half of the dragon's evil impact! The wildly twisting dragon pattern on his right arm seemed to be soothed by this warm power, and the speed of its expansion slowed slightly!
But at the same time, Xie Zhao's face instantly turned pale! With a "wow" sound, he spat out a large mouthful of blood! The blood turned into ice crystals in the air, falling down! The golden sea of talismans in his body violently churned, countless talismans were destroyed, and his aura instantly withered! Blood talismans share the same fate, and they share the same evil calamity! The terrifying evil energy that Chu Linyuan endured was instantly transferred to him!
"Xie Zhao!" For the first time, Chu Linyuan's icy eyes flickered violently! He turned sharply and saw Xie Zhao bleeding and limp. An indescribable surge of rage and...pity instantly broke through his frozen defenses! He tried to break free from the blood talisman, wanting to endure it alone!
"Shut up! Chu Linyuan!" Xie Zhao wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. His face was pale, but his eyes were surprisingly bright, with unprecedented ferocity and stubbornness. "You think you're the only one showing off?! Hold on! I'm very powerful."
Chu Linyuan didn't know what happened, but for a moment he seemed to forget the pain...
"It's so noisy!"
An old, hoarse voice filled with impatience sounded.
Uncle Chen, who usually swept the floor quietly in the corner with his back hunched, raised his head. His cloudy old eyes took in the destructive pillar of light rising into the sky and the madly roaring dragon within it, and his brow furrowed into a frown.
Then he raised the tattered, half-bald old broom in his hand.
He glanced at the devastating pillar of evil light light casually and nonchalantly, as if he was chasing away an annoying fly.
The movements were casual, even perfunctory.
There was no earth-shattering collision, no dazzling burst of light.
An indescribable, extremely thick, ochre-yellow light, as if containing the ultimate truth of heaven and earth, spread gently as the broom was waved, like a spring breeze blowing across the earth.
The extremely violent evil light column that was powerful enough to tear apart a god was gently grasped by an invisible giant hand the moment it was swept by the ochre light!
The madly twisting evil dragon shadow let out an unwilling wail, and its struggling movements froze instantly!
The violent energy storm subsided in an instant like a frozen wave!
The pillar of light that shot up into the sky, like a fountain with its roots cut off, rapidly shrank, dimmed, and disintegrated at a speed visible to the naked eye!
Just a breath!
The devastating pillar of malevolent energy, along with the roaring dragon within it, vanished completely, as if it had never appeared! Only a few wisps of dark red malevolent smoke remained at the bottom of the pit, testifying to the horror of the moment.
The earth stopped shaking.
Dead silence fell again.
Everyone was stunned.
Su Tang's photo stone fell to the ground and she forgot to pick it up. She opened her mouth in amazement and stared at the hunched figure holding a broken broom.
The soup spoon in Luo Hongyi's hand stopped in mid-air.
Tie Niu's hand, which was scratching his head, froze behind his head.
The ruby eyes of the Moon-Eating Rabbit in Bai Xiaolu's arms were wide open.
Even Chu Linyuan and Xie Zhao forgot their own status and looked at Uncle Chen in shock.
Uncle Chen seemed to have done nothing more than a trivial matter. He put down his broom, bent down, picked up a piece of gravel that had fallen to his feet, and threw it into the deep pit, muttering in dissatisfaction:
"Young people nowadays are so noisy and careless...the cleaned floor gets soiled again...it's troublesome."
He paused, his cloudy old eyes sweeping over the still agitated dragon pattern on Chu Linyuan's right arm and the pale-faced Xie Zhao, then glanced at the bottom of the deep pit and added slowly:
"The evil spirit core... seems to have fallen into the pit? Who's going to fish it out? Don't waste it. Give it to Lin Yuan as candy to calm his nerves."
Chu Linyuan: "..."
Xie Zhao: "Puff!" He coughed up another mouthful of blood foam, but a weak smile appeared on his face, a smile of having survived a disaster.
Su Tang silently picked up the photo stone and pointed her camera at the bottom of the deep pit and the hunched figure sweeping the floor beside it, seemingly standing tall. She knew she had captured something remarkable again.
