Chapter 107 Escaping onto the Bus

Mo Shuwan calmly watched the vampire's face begin to contort, knowing that she wouldn't survive under his rage. Half of her eyes had turned blood red, and her mind went blank. She heard a loud roar, and in a flash, a familiar figure appeared in her vision.

Completely zombified, Wen Zuo snatched Mo Shuwan back from the vampire. His hands trembled for a moment, as if he was suppressing some extremely difficult desire. A few seconds later, the zombified Wen Zuo suddenly threw Mo Shuwan away, and his body crashed into the bus door.

The bus seemed to be jolted awake from its slumber, and began to hum.

It's a long story, but in reality, less than five minutes have passed since the vampire appeared. When they saw Mo Shuwan being thrown away by Wen Zuo, Cai Zhongqi and Yang Zhou made a difficult decision and decided to rush over. They were planning to risk their lives to save Mo Shuwan, but they didn't expect to see the bus door open when they were only halfway there!

Overjoyed, the two immediately sped up and rushed to Mo Shuwan's side, working together to lift the seemingly boneless Mo Shuwan onto the bus.

Mo Shuwan, who was staring intently at Wen Zuo in her dying moments, soon fainted.

When the passengers hiding nearby saw that Cai Zhongqi and his group had boarded the bus, they excitedly rushed out from their hiding places, shouting, "Quick, the door is open, let's go!"

Lin Zhen, too, was overjoyed and rushed toward the bus with her son, but then tragedy struck.

Exorcism water is already very effective against vampires; even a tiny amount can harm them. Moreover, Mo Shuwan had only drunk the exorcism water shortly before being sucked of blood. It could be said that a small portion of the exorcism water ended up in the vampire's stomach, and the vampire, unable to ignore the pain, suffered greatly.

As life was slowly eroded, the vampire tried to escape, but was blocked by Wen Zuo, who had completely turned into a zombie. Wen Zuo had indeed completely lost his mind, and he was only chasing the vampire because of his deep obsession before he became a complete zombie. He wanted to kill the vampire who had hurt Mo Shuwan.

But—if time goes on, this obsession will also disappear, and Wen Zuo will once again be drawn to and driven by flesh and blood.

This time, however, no one risked their lives to bring him back to the bus after he turned into a zombie...

The bus doors opened, exciting a group of passengers who rushed to the bus. To the vampires, they looked like clusters of life forms actively approaching.

With a roar, a passenger was grabbed by a vampire who was moving incredibly fast and was instantly drained of his life force.

The powerful vampire nobles were no match for these unarmed passengers. The sudden turn of events in just half a minute plunged all the passengers into despair. Some even screamed and ran in the opposite direction of the bus, while others tried to rush onto the bus while the vampires attacked others.

Lin Zhen stopped, holding her son's hand, her excitement replaced by fear once again.

"What do we do!" She was almost crying in desperation. Cai Zhongqi, who had already boarded the car, changed his expression when he saw that they couldn't return. Standing at the car door, watching Wen Zuo slowly lunge at the vampire, he shouted anxiously, "Wen Zuo, stop hitting him! Quickly take Lin Zhen and Hao Hao to the car!"

But Wen Zuo had already lost his mind, so how could he possibly listen? The fresh flesh and blood around him made his movements increasingly sluggish.

Since Wen Zuo was already lifeless, the vampire ignored him completely, roaring as it grabbed one passenger after another. The scattering passengers enraged the vampire, who yelled, "Damn it! You humans all deserve to die!"

Lin Zhen, who was planning to take a detour with her son, froze in place. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that the vampire was watching her and her son. She said urgently, "Haohao, stay behind Mommy. Mommy will hold off the bad guy. You hurry up and get in the car."

After giving a hasty explanation, Lin Zhen gritted her teeth and charged straight at the vampire. The moment she pounced, Lin Zhen noticed that Wen Zuo, with bloodshot eyes, was swaying and falling not far away, looking utterly inhuman.

"Haohao, run!"

Lin Zhen suddenly opened her arms and hugged the vampire. Even as the fangs pierced her neck, she couldn't hold back her tears. "Mom will come back to find you soon. Live well. Dad is still waiting for you at the station."

Lin Zhen's body visibly shriveled up, and she grew weaker and weaker. Her hands, which were holding the vampire, gradually lost their strength. In a daze, she saw Wen Zuo swaying behind her son, as if he were staring at a prey.

The vampire hunters inside the building finally broke through the encirclement of a group of high-ranking vampires and discovered the traces of the vampire nobles. At least half of the vampire hunters rushed over, and thanks to Lin Zhen's sacrifice, five more passengers rushed onto the bus, including Hao Hao, who was only ten years old.

Following behind Hao Hao, Wen Zuo, who had completely turned into a zombie, was driven by the aroma of 'food' to board the bus. The moment he got on, his body went limp and he slumped down inside the bus.

The bus remained stationary for another ten minutes before slowly closing its doors and disappearing into the despair of the passengers who had failed to board.

The passengers who failed to board the train turned into a bloody mist and disappeared completely from the world.

The vampire hunters who rushed over immediately surrounded the vampire noble. Without saying a word, they each launched their own special moves. Having learned their lesson from their carelessness not long ago, which allowed this powerful vampire noble to escape, the vampire hunters worked together to trap the vampire within a range of a dozen meters.

More than ten minutes later, with a roar, the trapped vampire nobleman knelt on the ground, his sharp nails piercing several bloody holes in his own body. Not content with that, he tore off a piece of flesh from his leg in full view of everyone.

The vampire hunters stared in disbelief as the vampire noble mutilated himself, momentarily stunned. They had considered taking advantage of his weakness to kill him, but before they could act, the vampire's body withered away, eventually turning him into a desiccated corpse under the glare of the crowd.

"Ah!!! Damn humans—"

A powerful vampire nobleman, unwilling to die because he could no longer drink human blood to survive.

The vampire hunters, who had been on high alert, stared blankly at the dead vampire nobleman, their faces filled with disbelief. It took them a long time to recover. "What... what happened? Which of you just used a secret technique?"

Everyone looked at each other, all saying they hadn't. Now, everyone was dumbfounded. If no one had used any secret techniques, how did this vampire die? Could it be that their trapping formation had the effect of bewitching the mind?

Of course, this idea was rejected after only passing through my mind.

Just as everyone was puzzled, Zuo Luo, who had been silent for a long time, suddenly spoke up, "When we came over just now, I think I saw Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo? If I'm not mistaken, then the current situation is most likely related to them."
