Wen Zuo blushed and waved his hand, afraid that Li Shen would say something that would make him want to crawl into a hole. He quickly took out his phone, pointed to the time on it, and hoped to remind Li Shen that he was still on duty.
Fortunately, Li Shen wasn't the type to pry too much. Seeing that Wen Zuo really didn't want to talk about it, he just chuckled and left.
Mo Shuwan then stood blocking the train door, but when passengers with tickets tried to board, she couldn't stop them no matter what she did. Before the passengers boarded, the truth she wanted to convey couldn't get out, so she could only keep repeating that they couldn't board. After being shoved by an enraged passenger, Mo Shuwan finally gave up. She felt no anger; after all, everyone on the train would soon be lost, so why bother arguing?
After returning to her seat, Mo Shuwan only stayed outside for a short time before pressing the red button to enter the room. She was somewhat exhausted because she had failed to stop the passengers who were trying to commit suicide on the bus. Coupled with the exhaustion from escaping from that world, she was indeed tired. She went straight to sleep after entering the room. Because she was sitting in the last row, no passengers noticed that she was missing.
At six o'clock sharp, Wen Zuo left work on time, changed into casual clothes, picked up his ticket, and walked quickly toward the ticket gate. Li Shen was already waiting there with his luggage. When he saw Wen Zuo coming over, he handed him the luggage and told him, "Go back and take good care of your mother. Don't rush over. I've already approved five days of leave for you."
Wen Zuo looked surprised and held up two fingers. Li Shen impatiently pushed him forward: "Go back home with peace of mind, your leave has been approved." Then he left.
Li Shen's figure was quickly swallowed up by the crowd, so Wen Zuo had no choice but to turn his attention away and start queuing to have his ticket checked. He took his ticket, found the car parked in the corner of the square, carried his luggage, and walked over quickly. After boarding the car, he walked past the other passengers who were laughing and joking, quickly walked to the last row, put his luggage down, and sat down in a seat near the outside.
"The car doors are about to close."
No one, including Wen Zuo, seemed to notice the hollow broadcast; some even looked relaxed, as if they were finally about to start driving. As the vehicle slowly began to move, most passengers closed their eyes to prepare for a rest.
Mo Shuwan didn't expect that she would wake up not naturally, but because of the pain. She sat up abruptly and looked down at the back of her left hand, which was still throbbing with pain.
Next stop: Zombie world: Survive for one month.
Seeing the blood-written words, Mo Shuwan's face turned deathly pale. She closed her eyes in disbelief, and when she opened them again, the writing had faded, and the stinging pain had subsided. Once the writing on the back of her hand was completely gone, she suddenly covered her face with her hands, her voice breaking, "How could this be…..."
How could it be a zombie that only exists in movies, novels, and imagination...?
The sliver of confidence they had just built up crumbled at that moment. They had thought that encountering armed robbers was already a near-death experience, and at worst they would just be caught in various disasters. But they never expected that, just as Bus had said, it was a very 'simple' task.
Mo Shuwan felt completely confused and couldn't imagine how she could survive in the face of such terrifying zombies. She sat on the bed for a long time, and when she finally got out of bed, she was in a state of extreme despair and despondency.
Mo Shuwan changed into a bulletproof vest, picked up the dagger on the bedside table and stuffed it into her pants pocket. She slowly walked to the single sofa, wanting to stay hidden in this room forever, but she knew very well that since she had been woken up by excruciating pain, the start of the mission must be imminent.
Going out might lead to death, but staying in guarantees death... so there's no choice at all.
Mo Shuwan sighed deeply, turned around and sat on the single sofa. She pursed her lips and pressed the red button. Unexpectedly, when she came out, the bus was quiet. She was stunned for a moment. Just as she was about to get off the seat, she turned her head and found that there was someone next to her at some point. And this person... was the one she had tried so hard to stop from getting on the bus not long ago.
Looking at the sleeping Wen Zuo, Mo Shuwan felt a deep sense of powerlessness. It was probably destined. No one could stop someone who was destined to get on this train.
The seats were spaced far apart, and even though Wen Zuo's long legs took up a lot of space, Mo Shuwan managed to squeeze out without waking him. She quickly walked to the redemption board, but before she could do anything, the bus's eerie, hollow voice rang out, accurately reaching the ears of every passenger through the loudspeaker.
"Welcome aboard the new Time Bus G-01. The bus will arrive in the zombie world in ten minutes."
The bus didn't say a word more than necessary. Mo Shuwan finally understood the meaning of what the bus had said not long ago. It was indeed very considerate of the first batch of passengers, at least allowing each of them to ask one question, although most of them were too flustered to ask at the time.
Even the deepest sleepers were startled awake, shouting in dissatisfaction, "What the hell? I just fell asleep, and it's already this late!" They then irritably pulled out their phones to check the time, 08:20, and couldn't help but mutter under their breath, "It's past eight in the morning, why is it so dark outside?" But they froze when they saw the words "10-03" in the upper left corner.
How could it be the 3rd... Even if I slept a little longer, it should be the 2nd, right? It's impossible that I slept for two whole days.
Mo Shuwan, who had decided not to have too much contact with passengers because of Chen Na's betrayal and thought she was going to die sooner or later anyway, sighed as she looked at the completely unaware passengers. In the end, she couldn't bear to watch them go to their deaths in such a state of ignorance. "What I'm about to say concerns your lives, so I hope you will listen carefully."
Unexpectedly, her voice was amplified on the loudspeaker, ensuring that everyone could hear it clearly. Mo Shuwan turned her head to look at the driver's seat.
"Holy crap, kidnapping?!"
Although Mo Shuwan had a hideous scar on her face, she was only 157 cm tall and had a petite figure. She was not intimidating at all. Upon hearing this, some excited passengers stood up, seemingly wanting to hit Mo Shuwan. However, before they could make a move, Wen Zuo, who had recovered from his shock, rushed in front of Mo Shuwan and blocked them.
Wen Zuo looked down at Mo Shuwan in surprise, his eyes full of doubt. He reached out and touched Mo Shuwan, then took out his phone and typed rapidly.
Why are you still on this bus? You've been on it all afternoon?
Mo Shuwan looked at the words on her phone's notes, but her focus inexplicably shifted. She looked up at Wen Zuo, but Wen Zuo was too tall. Even when she stood up straight, she couldn't reach his shoulder. Looking up was very uncomfortable and strenuous. Just as she was about to speak, she saw the person standing in front of her suddenly shorten his height. Wen Zuo bent over.
Mo Shuwan was a little stunned and swallowed back the doubt that was on the tip of her tongue. She said softly, "You'll understand what's going on after you hear what I have to say."
