Chapter 135 The temperature dropped too quickly

A cold wind blew by, and a huge leaf drifted down from the treetop, perfectly covering the last footprint left by the masked woman as she left...

In the middle of the night, Mo Shuwan was awakened by a gust of cold wind. She opened her eyes abruptly, touched the goosebumps on her arm, frowned slightly, and gently touched Wen Zuo's arm. "You go to sleep, I'll keep watch."

After saying that, he patted his shoulder with great gusto, letting Wen Zuo lean against him to sleep.

Wen Zuo looked down at Mo Shuwan's thin shoulders, silently considering how awkward his posture would be if he leaned on her. Not wanting to disappoint Mo Shuwan's kindness, he hesitated for a moment, then moved his buttocks to the side, sitting at least half an arm's length away from Mo Shuwan. He stiffly leaned against Mo Shuwan's shoulder, his entire side suspended in the air, which was extremely uncomfortable.

Cai Zhongqi, who was still awake and not feeling safe, almost burst out laughing when he saw this scene. "Captain, you can sit on this rock."

Mo Shuwan also noticed that Wen Zuo's posture was awkward and he was feeling embarrassed. When she heard Cai Zhongqi's suggestion, she subconsciously turned her head to look and saw that he had already gotten up and was carrying a stone. The stone was not big, but it was much taller than the one Mo Shuwan was sitting on. Wen Zuo would definitely not be as awkward as he was now when he sat on it.

After thanking him quietly, Mo Shuwan, who had changed to Gao Shitou, was still much shorter than Wen Zuo. Feeling embarrassed and not wanting to bother anymore, Mo Shuwan patted her leg in frustration, "Lie on my lap."

Wen Zuo froze, his face flushed red, and he shook his head resolutely.

"Stop arguing, take a break." As she spoke, she hooked her arm around Wen Zuo's neck. Wen Zuo stiffly was pulled and pressed onto her lap by Mo Shuwan. Noticing Wen Zuo's discomfort, she coughed and muttered a few words to save face for herself, "You look like you're 1.9 meters tall in those shoes. It's not that I'm too short, it's that you're too tall."

Wen Zuo, whose face was already burning, struggled awkwardly for a moment, then turned his face to the side and lay on Mo Shuwan's lap.

Having witnessed the whole thing, Cai Zhongqi choked on his water. He stared at Wen Zuo, who was bent over with his face touching the captain's leg, for a while, and finally couldn't help but ask, "...Wen Zuo, are you sure you can sleep in this position?"

Wen Zuo met Cai Zhongqi's gaze and gave a calm, slight nod. If Cai Zhongqi hadn't seen Wen Zuo's face turn completely red, he would have actually believed it. He thought to himself, "Don't I know about what's going on between you two?"

Knowing that Wen Zuo was a little embarrassed, Mo Shuwan didn't expose him. Instead, she calmly reached out and gave Wen Zuo's waist, which was hanging in mid-air, a light slap.

Wen Zuo, caught off guard, suddenly collapsed in pain: "..."

"Do you want me to sing you a lullaby?"

Wen Zuo blushed and moved his head to shift his position. This time, without Mo Shuwan pulling him, he consciously leaned over. He knew he needed to rest, but being so close to his sweetheart made his heart race.

This is the person I've had a crush on for six whole years!

Completely unaware of Wen Zuo's thoughts, Mo Shuwan took the fire-attribute longsword in her hand and shifted her attention away from Wen Zuo, carefully observing her surroundings. Wen Zuo hadn't said anything earlier, so there probably wasn't anything wrong, but she still couldn't let her guard down.

A few minutes later, a hot arm quietly wrapped around her waist. Mo Shuwan looked down at Wen Zuo and chuckled, "You're like a furnace. I was feeling cold just now, but I'm not cold anymore."

Wen Zuo didn't react, pretending that he was already asleep.

A few hours later, around five o'clock, Mo Shuwan felt the temperature drop again, whether it was her imagination or not. She waited quietly for a while, but the cold feeling grew stronger and stronger. She frowned slightly, bent down and picked up a few pieces of wood and threw them into the fire. In less than half a minute, the flames that had been dying started to burn brightly again.

Even so, the chill was not dispelled. If Mo Shuwan could comfort herself earlier that it was just a misperception, now that she vaguely sensed something was wrong, she dared not ignore it anymore and suddenly reached out to shake Wen Zuo awake.

"Get up, all of you!"

The passengers were already too afraid to sleep too soundly, and Mo Shuwan's loud shout woke most of them up. They looked around in panic, and soon some people hugged their arms and moved closer to the fire, saying, "Why is it so cold?"

With red marks on his face from sleeping, Wen Zuo held a gun and stood guard beside Mo Shuwan, ready to retaliate at any moment.

"The weather wasn't this cold last night, but it's unusually cold now, which is a bit ominous." Because her legs had been in the same position for several hours, Mo Shuwan's legs were so sore and numb that she couldn't stand up immediately. She could only sit there silently clenching her fists and letting her legs hang down.

Wen Zuo, who noticed this scene out of the corner of his eye, was immediately annoyed.

The passengers who were not awake before were gradually woken up. Qi Hao was sitting closest to Mo Shuwan. The child hunched his neck and snuggled closer to Mo Shuwan, saying, "Captain, it's so cold."

Mo Shuwan raised her hand and touched Qi Hao's hair. She didn't say anything, stood up and looked up at the sky. After a moment, she looked down and opened her phone. The time displayed was exactly five o'clock, but the sky was pitch black and there was not a glimmer of light.

Darkness shrouded this continent.

Coming to her senses, Mo Shuwan said solemnly, "Pack your things immediately and prepare to leave."

The passengers, who were waiting for instructions, immediately panicked and frantically picked up their redeemed items. Lu Xingkai was so flustered that he asked repeatedly, "Captain, have you discovered something?!"

"The temperature is dropping too fast, it's not normal. Whether I'm being paranoid or not, we can't stay here any longer." After saying that, he walked to the area where the new passengers were gathered. "Has anyone exchanged for a flashlight yet?"

Everyone shook their heads. After all, it had been said on the bus that points could be used to redeem life-saving items, so the new passengers dared not redeem anything else.

It was expected that no one would exchange the flashlights. "Take your own things and set off now."

Perhaps because Mo Shuwan's expression was too serious, the new passengers remained silent and dared not speak. Even the usually arrogant Liu Dongcheng stood obediently outside the crowd. Only after Mo Shuwan turned and left did he step forward and pull a half-burnt piece of firewood from the fire.

Why are you picking this up?

Liu Dongcheng glanced coldly at the person who asked the question, "Lighting."

Upon hearing this, several new passengers immediately followed suit.

As everyone was talking, the temperature seemed to drop a few degrees, and goosebumps rose on exposed skin. The ominous premonition grew stronger and stronger. Not daring to delay any longer, and after confirming that all passengers were awake, Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo led the way and set off immediately.

Mo Shuwan, holding a flashlight in one hand and a fire-attribute longsword in the other, followed behind Wen Zuo, keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings. "Stay close. This forest isn't as simple as you think. You could lose your life if you're not careful."
