Chapter 340 Encountering Extraterrestrial Invaders

The team of two hundred people was neither a large nor a small number. Most of them hadn't taken Zhao Xizhe's words seriously, but now that they were actually inside and facing this space that was supposedly set up as a training ground for new recruits, the ease in their hearts completely vanished.

All around them stretched an endless plain, yet apart from those around them, they couldn't see anyone else on the plain. Coupled with the ever-encroaching, biting cold, someone cursed under their breath.

"As you can see from the current situation, this godforsaken place is unpleasant in every way. Although we had some unpleasantness before, we have no grudges against each other. I hope no one will cause trouble behind our backs."

"Hehe, that's for sure. If anyone tries anything behind my back, I'll be the first to punish them."

The two hundred or so people all looked at the people around them. These people were all selected by Zhao Xizhe. Apart from Mo Shuwan and a few others who were "taken down", they basically didn't know each other.

Noticing the gazes directed at him, Yun Chen frowned, turned his head coldly, and swept his gaze over everyone. His murderous look made some people unable to bear the pressure and turn their heads away.

"Let's go first. We should encounter the enemy soon. Be prepared for battle."

After Wen Zuo finished speaking, the group continued to move forward. The new recruits behind them cursed under their breath, seemingly dissatisfied that they were giving orders and leading the way. But in the end, those who were supposed to follow followed. The situation was unclear, so it was best to stick with the main force.

But after about ten minutes, apart from slight changes in the surrounding vegetation, they encountered nothing at all.

Chen Jiaxu pulled his coat tighter. "I feel like the sky is getting darker and darker."

Yes, compared to when they first entered, the gray that almost covered the sky was now gradually turning black, and the aura it gave them was becoming increasingly dangerous. This gray mist was definitely not as simple as ordinary mist; it might be dark power brought by invaders from outside the region, and what it was showing now might just be dark power diluted and weakened countless times.

While countless teams were cautiously observing their surroundings as they entered the battlefield, a group of foreign invaders were also watching their surroundings from a great distance.

"This is the Trial Grounds? There's nothing here but grass and trees."

The group of invaders from outside the region frowned as they looked around. They couldn't see any living creatures in sight. Remembering the clan leader's instructions, they were all somewhat dismissive.

"If this wretched place is the trial ground we're all scrambling to come to, then I'd rather not come at all."

“Our people went to great lengths to get us in here, so this place is definitely not as simple as you imagine.”

"Kakusheng, what did the clan chief say to you before you left?"

"It's nothing." Kakusei walked forward with a cold face, the horn on his forehead slowly absorbing the faint dark power in the surrounding air.

Seeing the dark forces forming small vortices around the horns, some people curled their lip and silently followed.

Mo Shuwan suddenly looked up at the sky, where dark forces were slowly writhing in one direction. She looked down at the trembling silver bow in her hand and said in a deep voice, "The enemy is here."

Cheng Hua was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at Mo Shuwan. He quickly noticed that Wen Zuo, Yun Chen, and Chen Jiaxu were all looking in the same direction with expressions of impending doom. He quickly looked at Liu Dongcheng and noticed a hint of confusion beneath his composed expression. He chuckled and said, "Luckily, I'm not the only one who didn't notice."

However, the others in the team frowned. They couldn't sense any enemy presence at all. No, they couldn't sense any presence other than theirs. But at this point, it was better to be safe than sorry. After a moment of silence, they all drew their weapons.

Mo Shuwan tentatively took out a defensive talisman and stuck it on her body. Soon, a protective shield appeared on her body, but she had a feeling that the talisman would be useless here.

"The enemies we're facing this time should be similar to those we encountered in the dark world last time."

Mo Shuwan sighed softly, "Yes, last time we were basically powerless to fight back."

Although she ultimately sacrificed her life to create a deadly arrow for the invaders, they would have perished long ago had Mr. Song not arrived in time. Moreover, there was an element of luck involved.

This time...

Mo Shuwan calculated that with her current strength, she could probably only condense three arrows of that power, at the cost of being completely immobilized.

Are you sure there are enemies coming?

Mo Shuwan turned to look at the person who spoke and noticed that he had a blue tag hanging on his waist. He was a blue-level soldier. She remembered that he had mentioned before that his name was Zheng Baiyu.

"Okay, I'll trust you this once."

Zheng Baiyu stepped out from the crowd, a jet-black calligraphy brush in his hand. He frowned and asked, "Which direction are you coming from?" Seeing the direction Mo Shuwan was pointing, Zheng Baiyu immediately bent down and made the first stroke heavily with the brush tip a few centimeters off the ground. "Don't disturb me."

Having witnessed Zheng Shanhe's machinations in the underworld before, they were all somewhat surprised to see Zheng Baiyu using the same method, seemingly setting up some kind of trap. They took a few steps back, watching as Zheng Baiyu's originally cold and stern face slowly turned pale.

Perhaps because what he was about to draw had to be completed in one stroke, Zheng Baiyu never stopped adding to his work. He spent more than ten minutes drawing a huge yet somewhat simplistic array.

What are you drawing?
