Chapter 35 Or maybe we should sleep together?

Wen Zuo had no choice but to put his phone down and continue cooperating with Mo Shuwan, focusing on correcting her dodging movements.

The training lasted for more than three hours. Exhausted, Mo Shuwan lay motionless on the ground. Suddenly, Wen Zuo's handsome face came into view. She tried to open her squinted eyes a little wider and raised her weak arm, "Pull me up."

Wen Zuo reached out to pull her, but Mo Shuwan seemed boneless as her whole body was pulled to the side.

Startled, Wen Zuo quickly caught her with his hands, saving Mo Shuwan from landing face-first on the ground. He had just breathed a sigh of relief when he realized that the person in his arms was not moving. He was stunned for a moment, then looked down and realized that she had fallen asleep.

Wen Zuo quickly moved gently, letting Mo Shuwan lean against him. He reached for the watermelon knife next to him, tied it to his backpack, then bent down, picked up Mo Shuwan, and quickly walked towards the low-rise residential area.

Perhaps because they finally got extra food today, there are still some survivors wandering outside at this hour. But that makes things easier for Wen Zuo, at least he doesn't have to go back in the dark.

On the fourth day after Mo Shuwan, Wen Zuo, and the passengers arrived at the safe zone, the blood moon that had hung in the sky from morning till night finally disappeared. Upon discovering this, the survivors could clearly feel a sense of relief. During these four days, Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo would climb over the wire mesh to kill zombies in the mornings, dig for wild vegetables from noon to afternoon, and Wen Zuo would train Mo Shuwan's physical strength and reaction time in various emergencies in the evenings.

Their actions puzzled Luo Jingdong and the others who had been secretly observing them since they learned that Mo Shuwan was 'pregnant'. Why would someone voluntarily leave the safe zone to kill zombies?

On the afternoon of the fourth day, Mo Shuwan, exhausted from killing zombies and undergoing intense training for several days, followed Wen Zuo to hand in the wooden plaque. She tried to look more energetic, but she still made a mistake soon after.

Mo Shuwan calmly bent down and picked up the watermelon knife that had fallen to the ground. She intertwined her two hands to restrain each other, which reduced the trembling of her hands considerably. As long as no one kept staring at her hands, no one would notice that she was acting strangely.

At the same time, Mo Shuwan felt that more eyes were being focused on her. In the eyes of these survivors, she was probably like a rare animal that was thought to be on the verge of extinction but suddenly appeared.

When receiving food, Mo Shuwan still received some privileges. Although there was no plain porridge, she could at least exchange the wooden sticks she earned from her work for slightly more food than others.

As usual, we exchanged some potato and wild vegetable paste and a pancake. Wen Zuo and I found a place where there was hardly anyone around to sit down. As soon as my butt touched the ground, I couldn't help but want to lie down. I gritted my teeth and quickly suppressed the urge.

Wen Zuo took out a bottle of water from his backpack and handed it to Mo Shuwan.

"Thanks."

The two gnawed on rough biscuits, only swallowing them with a sip of water when they were fully chewed. The creatures in the river had all turned into zombies, and the river water was undrinkable. It was rainwater collected by the safe zone during rainstorms, and it tasted strange, with a rusty smell.

Mo Shuwan's gaze drifted slowly around her, watching the survivors gathered in groups eating their food. She lowered her eyes slowly. If she didn't know the truth about cannibalism in this safe zone, she would have really thought this safe zone was a wonderful place.

"No!"

The silence was suddenly broken by a scream.

The screams coming from the square immediately attracted the attention of the bored survivors. Even Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo took a curious look and unexpectedly saw passengers running around in tears in the square. These passengers were easy to spot among the group of emaciated survivors.

Mo Shuwan frowned, about to take a closer look, when suddenly everything went black. She turned to Wen Zuo, "What's wrong?"

Wen Zuo looked at the passengers who had been taken back and the survivors who were ready with kitchen knives, lowered his head and forced a smile at Mo Shuwan, silently saying, "Don't look."

From Wen Zuo's reaction, Mo Shuwan basically guessed what had happened. The color drained from her face little by little. She lowered her head and looked at the porridge in the bowl. Suddenly, she felt that the bowl was incredibly heavy. She said in a hoarse voice, "Let's go train."

Wen Zuo couldn't wait to take Mo Shuwan away from here immediately, and of course he had no objections. Unfortunately, just as the two of them got up to go to their usual training place, an uninvited guest stopped them.

Mo Shuwan frowned. "Is something the matter?"

Luo Jingdong's gaze involuntarily fell on Mo Shuwan's stomach, but Wen Zuo quickly blocked his view. He didn't mind and smiled, saying, "We're going out to find supplies tonight. You guys are pretty strong, so you can come with us."

Not everyone can go out to find supplies here. After all, almost everyone in the safe zone who isn't very strong has stockpiled food. Taking stockpiled food outside to feed zombies is something only a fool would do.

Only survivors whose strength is recognized can join the search for supplies. Although this is the most dangerous task, in this morbid world, it has become a task that everyone is eager to do.

Seeing that the two did not give an immediate answer, Luo Jingdong asked curiously, "You don't want to go?"

"No," Mo Shuwan shook her head, "When are we going?"

"Around ten o'clock, you can take this time to rest. We'll set off promptly at ten o'clock."

"good."

So Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo, who were originally heading towards their usual training ground, turned around and returned to the shack where they were now living in the low-rise residential area.

Mo Shuwan sat on her pile of hay, eating as she looked at Wen Zuo and said, "You go to sleep first after you finish eating, and I'll sleep after you're done."

Wen Zuo shook his head and refused.

Mo Shuwan looked helpless. She was indeed touched that Wen Zuo always put her first, but in the current situation, if she went to sleep first, she would probably sleep until it was time to leave, and Wen Zuo would not wake her up at all. She rubbed her temples with a headache. "You should go to sleep. If you don't sleep, I won't sleep either."

This time, Wen Zuo did not listen to Mo Shuwan and insisted that she go to sleep first. He could not speak and could not persuade Mo Shuwan. The shed was not bright enough, and Mo Shuwan could not see when he wrote without getting close to the fire. For a moment, he could only express his determination by not lying down.

The two of them argued about this issue until they finished their food, but still couldn't come up with an answer. Mo Shuwan couldn't help but get a little frustrated and said in despair, "Why don't we just sleep together?"

To everyone's surprise, Wen Zuo actually thought about it very seriously, and in the end, this method was deemed feasible.

Wen Zuo approached the torch, took out paper and pen and quickly wrote something. He then turned and waved to Mo Shuwan. Mo Shuwan suppressed her inner irritation, walked over quickly, and looked at what Wen Zuo was writing in the firelight.

—I'm a light sleeper. If I move all the hay to the doorway in a little while, I'll notice when someone comes by.
