Chapter 37 To survive, work hard.

The group of passengers laughed it off, seemingly unfazed, but a shadow had fallen over them all. After killing someone with their own hands, they finally realized that there were no truly innocent people among them, and who knew if they would be the next victims.

However, it was still somewhat difficult for them to carry a dead body across the kitchen to find Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo. Because of their recent attempt to escape, there were still one or two survivors outside watching over them, so how to leave this place was a big problem.

Time passed slowly, and at 10 p.m., Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo, who had slept well, got up and went to the square. It was estimated that there was really no food left in the safe zone this time, and there were several times more survivors going out to find supplies than last time.

This was the first time Mo Shuwan had seen several female survivors among this group of survivors whose clothing and treatment were much better than the others.

As soon as Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo stepped into the square, one of the girls spotted them. Mo Shuwan wondered if it was just her imagination, but she noticed that the girl's eyes seemed to light up.

Once everyone had arrived, several burly men began to shout, "Come and get some food!"

The air was still filled with the smell of meat. Mo Shuwan didn't approach and stood far away. When Wen Zuo saw this, he handed her the gun and took out a notebook from his pocket.

—I'm going to get some food.

"Yes, thank you for your hard work."

Wen Zuo smiled and shook his head. Before leaving, he gave a warning look to the survivors around him who were staring at Mo Shuwan. He then strode quickly to the food distribution area. Although his training results had been good these past few days, Wen Zuo was still worried about leaving Mo Shuwan there alone. He even cut in line.

Because Mo Shuwan's 'pregnancy' served as a shield, the survivors didn't hold it against him. However, one of the female survivors squeezed next to Wen Zuo and asked with a smile, "Little brother, did you get her pregnant? Was it really a natural pregnancy?"

Wen Zuo's face flushed red as he turned to look at Mo Shuwan. He couldn't help but think about how Mo Shuwan was pregnant with his... cough cough cough... He quickly banished these evil and bad thoughts from his mind and moved aside to avoid the female survivor's approach.

"You blushed?" The female survivor looked at her strangely.

Wen Zuo ignored her, took six pancakes and two bottles of water without looking at her, and didn't even glance at the meat in the lunchbox next to him. He quickly returned with the six pancakes and two bottles of water. Before he got close, he saw the passenger kneeling in front of Mo Shuwan, frowned and quickly ran back.

When the passenger saw Wen Zuo return, he cried and recounted his grievances, "It's all our fault for listening to the slander of those despicable people. We hope you can help us because we were unaware of the truth. After all, we come from the same world. I... I really don't want to die..."

When she said the last sentence, her true feelings were clearly revealed. Without even pinching her thigh, tears were already streaming down her face like a faucet that had been turned on, and she couldn't stop them.

Wen Zuo frowned and took a step back to protect Mo Shuwan.

Mo Shuwan ignored the passenger, reached out and took the two bottles of water that Wen Zuo was holding, patted Wen Zuo's shoulder, and said, "Lower your head."

Wen Zuo quickly assumed a horse stance.

Mo Shuwan put a bottle of water in each of her backpacks, and then separated the five cakes into the two backpacks. After zipping up the backpacks, she reached for the backpack straps, but Wen Zuo grabbed her hand and turned around in confusion.

"Each person carries one, so that if they accidentally get separated on the road, they can have some food to help in an emergency."

Wen Zuo nodded. There wasn't much left in the bag, so it wasn't very heavy. Besides, carrying the bag could temporarily protect him from the claws of the zombies coming from behind.

The passenger, who was crying uncontrollably, realized that no one was paying attention to him, and his resentment rose rapidly. When he spoke again, his voice was tinged with anger, "Are you really so heartless? I've already knelt down and apologized to you, and you're still not satisfied. Isn't it just a small favor for you to help us out?"

With her bag slung over her shoulder, Mo Shuwan turned her attention back to the passengers, letting out a cold laugh. "What do you mean by ruthless? When you threw a living person into the water to be devoured by zombies, why didn't you call yourselves ruthless? When you beat someone to death for your own sake, why didn't you call yourselves ruthless?"

Coincidentally, this passenger was involved in both incidents. With snot and tears streaming down his face, he glared at Mo Shuwan in fear and shouted weakly, "You, you're talking nonsense. We didn't mean to."

"I've said it before: there's no such thing as a free lunch. If you're willing to live in your own foolish fantasies, no one can save you."

After Mo Shuwan finished speaking, she pulled Wen Zuo to join the survivors who were preparing to depart. The passenger panicked and rushed forward to grab Mo Shuwan's ankle, growling in terror, "You can't do this! We're all in this together! We live together, we die together! You can't abandon us!"

Wen Zuo turned around and saw that Mo Shuwan's ankle had been touched by a strange man. He angrily bent down and forcefully broke the passenger's hand off. He protected Mo Shuwan and took two steps back. When the passenger rushed forward crying, he kicked him mercilessly.

Seeing that the passenger still didn't understand, Mo Shuwan looked away with disgust. "If you want to survive, work hard."

This time, there was no further lingering; he left with Wen Zuo.

Before setting off, the group counted off a total of 204 people, divided into twenty groups. They left the safe zone together and parted ways on the highway after leaving the forest. The blood moon lasted for four days, and each safe zone had probably already set off to search for supplies. A fierce battle was inevitable, and it was unknown how many people would be able to return alive.

Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo's group consisted of eleven people. Among them, besides Mo Shuwan, there was also a female survivor who had flirted with Wen Zuo while distributing food. As they traveled, this female survivor slowly fell behind from the middle to Mo Shuwan's side and said with a smile, "Are you really pregnant?"

"What's up?"

"Hehe, it's nothing, I was just curious." She paused, then laughed and said, "By the way, did you know that if you fake a pregnancy and are discovered, you'll be tortured to death? They'll cut off your flesh piece by piece while you're still alive, and you won't even be able to faint... Tsk tsk tsk, I once saw someone who faked a pregnancy, and she ended up being chopped into a human stick. It's a pity, she was quite pretty."

Mo Shuwan tried her best to suppress the urge to vomit and remain calm, saying indifferently, "That's quite a pity."

As soon as the last word was spoken, Wen Zuo reached out and took Mo Shuwan's clenched fist, which was hanging by her side, into his palm.

The female survivor smiled and returned to the middle of the group, shrugging to Xiangzi beside her, "Very calm."
