Chapter 53 Leaving the Bus and Returning to Reality

Mo Shuwan snapped out of her daze and saw the question Wen Zuo had asked on the paper: "Why did my A get a 1000-point reward, while Shuwan only got a 500-point reward?" Combining this with the answer given by the bus, she quickly figured it out.

Your final rating for task completion is A, which is worth 1000 points. However, you have already received 500 points, so the bus gives you another 500 points, making it a total of 1000 points.

Therefore, the reward for an A+ is 2000 points.

The reward points for side quests are not hard to guess: 10 points for killing a zombie, 100 points for a special zombie, and 10 points for saving a survivor.

As for the difference in basic treatment costs... Mo Shuwan glanced at Wen Zuo's intact arm.

Wen Zuo: If you cure her, I'll lose points.

Wen Zuo wrote this sentence secretly, and Mo Shuwan did not see it, but the scene of treating Mo Shuwan that he had imagined did not happen.

For some reason, the bus fell silent for a full half minute before finally saying quietly, "Insufficient permissions, unable to complete the transaction."

Points not spent for personal consumption are all counted in the transaction, but the bus... lacks sufficient permissions.

Mo Shuwan was stunned when she heard the bus's reply.

Zhan Fei had already fled into his room in shame and indignation after seeing Mo Shuwan's mission evaluation. Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo also did not stay outside for long and soon returned to their rooms to tidy themselves up. It was more than two hours later when they came out.

Seeing Mo Shuwan appear in the seat next to him, Wen Zuo breathed a sigh of relief, his gaze lingering on the scars on her face for a few seconds.

“I just redeemed some items, and I have 5320 points left. It takes 5000 points to redeem one hour of departure time. If we redeem them, we might not survive the next mission,” Mo Shuwan expressed her concerns.

Wen Zuo: You can leave now. I still have a lot of points here. I should have enough points to exchange for items in the next mission.

Although I had long suspected that Wen Zuo might make a choice that would benefit himself, seeing it in person still stirred up a ripple in my heart.

She spoke softly, "My family isn't here. Even if I go back, I won't be able to find them. You should go back. I'm not sacrificing myself for you. I'll go back after the next mission, and my family will be back by then."

My brother saw your dad yesterday.

He almost blurted out those words, but unfortunately, Wen Zuo couldn't speak properly, so it was impossible for him to blurt them out. He looked at Mo Shuwan, who had a sincere expression, with a complicated expression. If it weren't for that... he might have really believed these words.

I haven't written a single word in a long time.

Mo Shuwan hadn't expected this situation and felt inexplicably embarrassed. "I don't know when the next mission will start, and I'm afraid if it's delayed any longer, there won't be enough time."

Wen Zuo: My family members are all abroad.

Unexpectedly, she received such an answer, but considering her own situation, Mo Shuwan instantly understood Wen Zuo's meaning. Some words were stuck in her throat, and she didn't know whether she should say them or not. If she said that she had made this decision after careful consideration and that she felt that she would not have come back alive if it weren't for you, then what about her previous statement that no one owed anyone anything?

The two, each wanting the other to return, were at an impasse, neither willing to voice their opinions, creating an awkward atmosphere.

Fortunately, a voice that couldn't stand being left out rang out at the right time, "I allow you to exchange 2500 points for half an hour."

"real?"

The white button on Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo's seats flashed, and two small panels appeared in front of them. Each panel had only a small hourglass, and a bright red exchange button took up almost half the screen, as if afraid that the two of them would not see it.

Although the bus seemed eager for them to spend their points, the temptation to leave was overwhelming, and Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo redeemed their points almost without hesitation.

A small hourglass appeared in their hands. Mo Shuwan barely managed to control her emotions and asked, "Can you take us directly to our doorstep?"

"Can."

Five minutes later, Mo Shuwan looked at the familiar scene outside the window, and her vision blurred instantly.

"Time will begin to run the moment you leave the bus."

Mo Shuwan turned to look at Wen Zuo, "I'm home, I'm leaving now." She then shook the hourglass in her hand, "See you in half an hour."

Wen Zuo nodded.

Watching Mo Shuwan get out of the car and walk into the community, Wen Zuo stood at the entrance for a while before getting out of the car. Like a thief, he quickly walked into the community that Mo Shuwan had just entered, glanced at Building 6 not far away, turned a corner and walked all the way to Building 9. Just as he was about to enter the elevator, a familiar voice came from behind him.

"Wen Zuo? You're back so soon?"

Wen Zuo turned around and looked at his older brother, who was wearing home clothes.

Wen Zhen walked over and suddenly looked Wen Zuo up and down, his face full of suspicion. "I just saw that girl come back. You just texted me a dozen minutes ago saying you got on the bus, and you're here already? You didn't follow that girl all along, and just came back when you saw her, did you?"

Wen Zhen emphasized the words "following behind" and "by the way".

Wen Zuo's attention was drawn to the message his older brother had sent a dozen minutes earlier about getting on the bus. He immediately reached into his brother's pocket, ignoring his brother's cursing, and hurriedly opened his phone.

Wen Zuo felt a moment of mental confusion.

Mo Shuwan, who had just returned home, realized a few minutes earlier that only a few hours had passed since she boarded the bus.

After making an excuse to say goodbye to her family, Mo Shuwan searched for a lot of information about Time Bus online. Although she didn't get any key information, she subtly left a post about Time Bus on a forum.

With only a few minutes left before the half-hour deadline, Mo Shuwan and Wen Zuo met outside the bus.

Seeing Wen Zuo standing at the bus door, Mo Shuwan didn't think anything was wrong. She greeted him and got on the bus together. The bus started moving again, and the familiar scenery faded away, gradually being replaced by darkness. A few minutes later, the bus quietly stopped at the bus station.

The melancholy of leaving home and the uncertainty about the future gradually faded after more than ten minutes on the bus. Mo Shuwan withdrew her gaze from the window, turned to look at Wen Zuo, and said with a smile, "I hope you will take good care of me in the next world."

Wen Zuo smiled and wrote on the paper: Take care of each other.

Although only a few hours, or even a dozen minutes, had passed here, the two had truly struggled to survive in the perilous zombie world for a whole month. Now that they had seen their family, their bodies and minds relaxed, and they felt extremely exhausted.

They all went back to their rooms and took a nap. When they woke up, they really had a disorienting feeling, as if they didn't know what day it was.

After sitting on the bed to clear her head for a moment, Mo Shuwan raised the back of her hand to look at it. There were no new tasks. She pursed her lips, got up and got out of bed. She walked to the only sofa in the room and sat down. Instead of going out, she directly brought up the exchange board and exchanged some food.

While eating, I pondered what to do next.
