Chapter 1: Found (Error Correction)

Ahead of the mountain path, the wind howled.

Yao Ying stared at Bi Suo, her dark eyes were like a lake inlaid in the snowy plains of the Tianshan Mountains, clear and bright, reflecting Bi Suo's handsome face with an expression of surprise.

He was shocked and silent for a while, then said, "The Regent King is on the mountain. I saw the mark he left behind. He has been attacked by his skills and cannot get too close to the crowd."

Yuanjue trembled.

It was because they found the marks left by the Sultan and knew that he was on the mountain that they suspected that the man was killed by the Sultan.

Yao Ying remained calm and said, "This is the only road into the city. There are caravans coming and going every day. The Regent can't prove that he is the murderer just because he is on the mountain."

Bi Suo stared at Yao Ying with her emerald eyes, and a smile appeared on her lips. "Princess, if I am not mistaken, the Regent really went crazy and killed people?"

Yaoying held the reins, looked at Bisu and Yuanjue, and said softly: "Anyone can doubt the Regent King, but you and Yuanjue are the people he trusts the most, so you shouldn't doubt him without even thinking."

Yuanjue was stunned for a moment, lowered his head, clenched his fists so hard that they made a crackling sound, and his face turned blue, white, and red.

Bisha remained silent for a long time. Her emerald eyes seemed to be filled with the gloomy sky and exuded a chilling air.

He glanced at Xie Qing and his companions who were looking over here from the bottom of the mountain, turned his horse's head, and continued to go up the mountain.

"If the princess truly trusts the Regent, then follow me."

Yuanjue raised his head and widened his eyes in surprise.

Yao Ying showed no fear at all and followed him.

Yuanjue frowned, glanced at Yaoying, urged his horse to catch up with Bisu, and whispered in Sanskrit. Bisu replied with a word. He looked hesitant and turned back to look at Yaoying. Bisu uttered a low shout, and he sighed and turned his face away.

The three of them walked forward with difficulty on the mountain path against the biting north wind.

The sky and the earth were vast and boundless, with layers of ice and snow stacked up one after another, and the exposed black rocks standing out jagged and abrupt.

The mountain path twisted and turned, and the scene below the mountain gradually became invisible. Bisa, who was walking in front, suddenly turned around, unsheathed his long sword, and the silver tip of the sword broke through the wind and snow, pointing at Yaoying's pale face.

"General!"

Yuanjue shouted loudly and drew his sword to block.

Bi Suo used one palm to shake off Yuan Jue, and the tip of the knife was firmly placed on Yao Ying's neck.

Yuan Jue's expression changed from surprise and panic to slight anger: "General, Princess Wen Zhao is the king's distinguished guest. How are you going to explain to the king that you harmed the princess?"

Bi Suo asked coldly: "Princess Wen Zhao will endanger the royal court, do you still want to protect her?"

Yuan Jue tightly grasped the hilt of the long sword, his eyes red: "I swore to the king that I would protect the princess! No matter what reason the general has, my oath will not change! Please put down the sword!"

Bi Suo raised the corner of her lips slightly, pressed her wrist down slightly, and used the tip of the knife to lift up Yao Ying's windproof hood.

The cold tip of the knife penetrated into her clothes and stuck to her skin, like a snake crawling under her clothes. Yao Ying felt her hair stand on end and she couldn't help but shudder.

"The general is going to kill me?"

she asked calmly.

Bisuo rode his horse closer, and his green eyes, which always showed a smile, suddenly revealed murderous intent.

"Princess, you are meticulous and pay attention to everything. You can't hide anything from you. The fact that the Regent King was attacked by the backlash of the martial arts is a royal secret. Only I, Yuan Jue, and a few guards know about it. He left a mark, so something must have happened. So I asked everyone to guard at the foot of the mountain... Since the princess guessed it and told it out, don't blame me for being ruthless."

Sooner or later she would guess Sultan's true identity.

Bi Suo's eyes were cold.

"For the safety of the Regent, I have no choice but to do this. I will tell your guards that you accidentally fell off the cliff."

Yaoying looked at Bisu without saying a word, her dark eyes calm.

Yuan Jue, who was standing by, was so anxious that he scratched his head and said, "General, you can't do this! You also swore an oath to the king! Have you forgotten the oath you made?"

Bishuo ignored him, raised his sword, and chopped it down fiercely. For a moment, his face showed a bit of ferocity.

Yao Ying didn't move.

The cold wind was howling, and Bi Su looked into Yao Ying's dark eyes and met her gaze. Just as the long knife was about to chop off her neck, she suddenly gritted her teeth, and suddenly retracted her momentum. The tip of the knife brushed past her temple and stopped abruptly in mid-air.

Yuan Jue’s eyes widened, the long sword in his hand was already unsheathed, and he was about to step forward to stop it, but when he saw this, he breathed a sigh of relief and put away his sword.

Bi Suo sheathed the sword, his hands still trembling. He raised his eyes and stared at Yao Ying. There was no trace of murderous intent in his blue eyes anymore.

"The princess is very careful. When I drew my sword, she was not surprised at all."

"Princess, you knew I might kill you to silence you, so why did you risk your life to remind me not to doubt the Regent?"

Yao Ying looked back at him and said calmly, "I came here because I was worried that something might happen to the Regent."

They looked bitter and resentful, and it was obvious that they had begun to suspect the Sultan. In this case, they would most likely come into conflict with him when they found him.

Bisa was a little bit unconvinced and asked, "Is it that simple?"

"It's that simple." Yao Ying nodded and said softly. After a pause, she continued, "And I know the general won't kill me."

Bi Suo raised her lips and said, "Princess, how do you know that I won't kill you?"

Yao Ying smiled and said, "The general is the most trusted comrade-in-arms of the Buddhist and the Regent King, and he is my friend."

Bi Suo's gaze stayed on her face for a long time, then he turned away and looked at the hazy flying snow.

"Princess, you guessed right. As soon as I saw the corpse, I suspected the Regent."

There was a hint of melancholy in his tone.

"In the past, there was a royal guard who practiced the same martial arts as the Regent. Later, he could not suppress his power and gradually lost his compassion. He became a cruel and tyrannical villain who killed innocent people and committed many evil deeds. Therefore, Yuanjue and I once swore to someone that if the Regent was also affected by the martial arts and went crazy and hurt people, we must kill him with our own hands to prevent him from becoming a demon."

A look of sadness flashed across Yuanjue's face.

Bi Su turned around and looked at Yao Ying: "Princess, guess who is the one who forced us to swear?"

Yao Ying's eyes flickered for a few times, and she suddenly understood: "That person is the Regent?"

Bisha nodded, "Not bad."

Yao Ying's mind raced, and her eyes suddenly became sharp: "So, the general is not here to kill the Regent?"

A cold light flashed in Bi Suo's eyes and he narrowed his eyes.

Yuan Jue looked dazed. He glanced at Yao Ying and then at Bi Suo.

What does the princess mean by this?

Yao Ying went on to say, "Since the Regent King made the general and Yuanjue swear such an oath, it shows that he is well aware of the dangers of the martial arts and has long been prepared to die in the event of backlash... Is the general afraid that the Regent King will really be backlashed by the martial arts and find out that he has killed civilians in the caravan, so he hides in the mountains and commits suicide? The general is here to stop the Regent King!"

The wind howled in the mountains and snow flew all over the sky.

Ashina Bisha was startled and looked at Yaoying, with a few lights in his green eyes, and his face flashed with disbelief, surprise, admiration, and a hint of regret.

This Han Chinese princess reacted very quickly. She had guessed his thoughts while he was still confused, and told him exactly what he was thinking.

He raised his lips and said with a bit of ruffian spirit: "To tell you the truth, Princess, even if I saw the Regent go crazy and kill people with my own eyes, I would not raise a knife to him."

Yuanjue's lips trembled a few times, and he said disapprovingly: "General, you swore an oath to the Regent!"

Bi Suo glanced at him and snorted, "Let me ask you, if we really find the Regent, can you kill him?"

Yuan Jue froze, clenched his fists, and shouted, "I swore an oath to the Regent! I will keep my oath!"

Bi Suo raised his long sword and slammed him hard: "Stop yelling, I know you are loyal. When you see the Regent, yell a few words like this, and then kill him without hesitation. From now on, I will be your son!"

Yuanjue stopped talking.

Yao Ying breathed a sigh of relief and her expression softened.

Bi Su glanced at her, lost in thought for a moment, then became serious. He clenched his right fist, placed it on his left chest, leaned forward, and saluted her: "Thank you, Princess."

Yaoying looked at him in confusion.

Bi Suo smiled, revealing her snow-white teeth: "Princess, you are right. I shouldn't have doubted the Regent King after seeing those corpses."

He betrayed the trust that the Regent had placed in him.

From the day the Regent Prince Xiwu started, he regarded him as a wicked man who could go crazy at any time. Whenever there was a little trouble from the Regent Prince, he would be nervous and anxious, and rush to deal with it.

He didn't trust the Regent from the beginning.

I feel the same as him.

Princess Wen Zhao and the Prince Regent had only just met for a short time, but she could see things more clearly than the two guards.

Bi Suo laughed at herself, with mixed feelings in her heart.

It's ridiculous that he was wrong for so many years and still thought he was the Regent's only friend.

Was the Regent disappointed every time he faced his and Yuanjue's cautious, fearful gazes?

Bi Suo sighed deeply, came back to her senses, looked at Yao Ying, and said, "Princess, this matter is of great importance. We cannot let outsiders hear any news. Please keep it a secret."

Yao Ying said solemnly: "General, rest assured, the Buddhist and the Regent King saved my life, I will never let the news out."

This is why she didn't let Xie Qing catch up.

Bi Suo looked at Yao Ying deeply for a few times, and new worries arose in his heart.

Has Princess Wen Zhao figured it out?

If she found out, what would he do? Imprison the princess?

Thinking that Sultan Gu might be suffering from the backlash, Bisuo was anxious. He temporarily suppressed his worries and told Yuanjue: "You send the princess down the mountain first. I will go find the regent and wait for my signal."

It should be the case.

Yao Ying turned her horse around.

At this moment, there were suddenly a few sharp sounds coming from the clouds above their heads. A huge eagle swooped down, swept its wings over Bissao, slapped his shoulders hard, then spread its wings and flew towards the snow-covered mountains.

Bi Su's expression changed: "Something happened to the Regent!"

Yao Ying immediately said to Yuan Jue, "I can go down the mountain by myself. You don't have to worry about me. Follow Cang Ying to find the Regent Prince."

Yuanjue looked at Bisu, who had a frown on her face. He glanced down the mountain and saw that they were almost halfway up the mountain. He was worried about Yaoying going down the mountain alone.

"Princess, please follow us." He said decisively, "When we meet the Regent, we will have to ask for your help."

After saying this, he bowed to Yao Ying.

"The mountain road is dangerous, Princess, you must follow me closely."

Yaoying agreed, wrapped her cloak tightly, and followed Bisha.

The three followed the Eagle on horseback, climbing up the steep slope. The terrain became higher and higher, and the wind and snow became thicker, making it difficult to ride. They had no choice but to dismount and walk.

Bi Suo was extremely anxious, and from time to time he looked up at the eagle flying in the sky, and ran forward with big strides. After walking a long way, he suddenly thought of Yao Ying and looked back.

Not far away, Yao Ying's figure, wrapped tightly in a cloak, was walking on the rugged mountain path, stumbling and unsteady, and it seemed that she would be blown away by the mountain wind at any time, but she said nothing and followed closely behind him and Yuanjue.

This morning, the royal guards gathered in front of the stove, drinking soup and eating cakes. When they talked about Princess Wen Zhao, they all said that she looked fragile, but was actually very hardworking and not timid. On the way to Gaochang, she slept in the open like them, but she never complained.

Bi Su looked for a while and then looked away.

Yuan Jue suddenly raised his voice and pointed at a pile of jagged rocks covered with fresh snow: "General, look!"

Bi Suo looked in the direction of his finger, walked forward, picked up an arrow, frowned, looked around, and brushed away the thin layer of snow around her.

More scattered arrows appeared under the snow.

Bi Suo's brows furrowed even more tightly, and he passed by the pile of rocks, his figure floating down the hillside and coming to the front of the cliff.

The ground was covered with traces of blood and horse hoof prints.

"This is an iron arrow! Someone has besieged someone here... The caravan at the foot of the mountain might have been killed by these people!" Yuan Jue broke out in a cold sweat.

Bi Su's face was solemn.

The Regent King has a clear distinction between rewards and punishments. He has offended too many princes and nobles, and many people have tried to assassinate him. The Regent King is a skilled martial artist and could have escaped, but this time he happened to be unable to suppress his martial arts...

He threw away the iron arrow and quickened his pace to catch up with the low-flying eagle.

Yaoying followed him and climbed up a steep and narrow mountain path. The wind was blowing hard, and she did not dare to look down at the mountain valley below. Her eyes always followed Bisa. Only in this way could she follow him closely.

The eagle flew lower and lower, leading everyone up and down, and finally circled around a small, flat snowdrift high up.

There were strange rocks stacked up in front of the snowdrifts, blocking their view.

Bi Suo stretched her neck to look forward, held Yao Ying's arm, and led her onto the snowdrift.

Fate followed.

After Yaoying landed and stood steadily, Bi Suo let her go, walked around the strange rock, and a look of ecstasy suddenly appeared on her face.

Behind the jagged rocks, a man was sitting cross-legged in a snow pile. He had broad shoulders and back, his face was covered with scars, and his black robe was torn. It was the Sultan who left alone last night.

Yuan Jue stepped forward with a look of joy on his face.

Bi Suo stopped him and said coldly: "Wait, do you want to get hurt again?"

Yuanjue's heart sank, and he calmed himself down and looked around carefully. Only then did he notice that Sultan Gu's eyes were tightly closed, and there seemed to be a surging aura lingering around his body. His thin arms were exposed under his torn clothes, and the true energy was faintly flowing under his skin.

Murderous aura lurks.

Yuanjue was still terrified and hesitated to move. His eyes fell on Sultan's chest and he was shocked: "The Regent is injured!"

There was a bloodstain on Sultan Gu's chest, and the snow in front of him was soaked with blood and looked bright red.

Yuan Jue gritted his teeth and said, "No, the Regent is injured, I have to go!"

Bi Su shook her head at him, looked at Yao Ying, took out a bottle of medicine and handed it to her: "Princess, you don't know martial arts, and you can't resist with your internal strength, so you shouldn't be injured. You can get closer to the Regent. The Regent is injured, please give this bottle of medicine to him."

After that, he warned again, "Be careful, don't get too close. If the Regent suddenly moves, stop. If you are scared, speak up and I will save you."

Yao Ying nodded, took the medicine bottle, and took a step forward.

Yuanjue held his breath and stared at her nervously.

Yao Ying continued to walk forward, getting closer to Sultan Gu step by step.

Sultan did not move.

Yao Ying got closer and closer to him, and stopped for a while a few steps away from him. Seeing that he had no reaction at all, she stretched out her boots forward and walked in front of him.

"General Su?"

She called him softly.

In the distance, Yuanjue and Bisa stared at Sultan Gu without blinking, not daring to utter a word.

As they got closer, Yao Ying finally saw the wound on Sultan Gu's chest. A thin layer of frozen ice had formed where his robe was torn.

The wound looks very deep and it will be troublesome if it is not treated.

Yao Ying frowned slightly, mustered up her courage and took a step forward. She bent down, and her long boots made a crunching sound as they stepped on the snow.

A cold gaze fell on her face.

The emerald eyes suddenly opened, silently, with a hint of cold, burning blue in the depths of the eyes.

Yao Yinghun's body stiffened. Facing Sultan Gu's gaze that showed no trace of anger, he moved the medicine bottle in his hand forward.

"General Su, you are injured."

Sudangu looked at Yaoying, his blue eyes reflecting her face which was red from the cold wind. The next moment, he suddenly jumped up, put his hand on her neck, and pressed her into his arms.

Yao Ying was caught off guard and was hooked by him and thrown into his arms. Before she could react, Sudang Gu opened his arms to hug her and rolled with her in the snow.

After a dizzying moment, Yao Ying heard the sharp sound of an iron arrow scraping against a strange rock.

She clutched Sultan's robe tightly and looked through his arms to where she had just stood.

Several iron arrows were stuck in the snow, and the arrow tails were swinging and buzzing.
