Chapter 116 The Rift of Time Helps in the Fight.
God has been looking worried lately.
Yinglong then transformed its body into the size of a small snake and swam to his feet.
Upon seeing her, that stinking dog dared to bare its teeth at her. It was just an ordinary dog that God had taken in; even though it was given a natural appearance, it hadn't yet developed intelligence, couldn't transform, and couldn't speak. It clung to God all day long, like a leech. Although it acted incredibly obedient and compliant, always rubbing its head against him and following him everywhere, and appearing devoted to protecting anyone who approached, it couldn't actually solve God's problems.
In the end, he still had to take matters into his own hands. Yinglong smugly nudged the god's hand hanging to one side with the horn on its head.
"What’s wrong with you?"
She tilted her head and asked.
God sits by the pool all day, saying that through it one can hear human prayers and receive the celestial forms of those humans returning to heaven. Judging by his appearance, I wonder what the people below are saying.
He didn't answer immediately, but gently stroked Yinglong's horn with his hand. She squinted comfortably, then looked provocatively at the sullen, jealous dog lying on the ground.
"Yinglong," the god called her name, his expression seemingly troubled, "Can you do me a favor?"
help?
Yinglong immediately perked up. If she could help the god, and he had personally named her, then it meant that only she, Yinglong, could solve this problem.
She couldn't help but roll over on the ground, revealing her soft belly.
"Okay, okay, what can I do for you?"
God pointed to the pool and said that the human world is currently suffering from war, and one side is using this pool to plead with heaven for help. He heard this and had to deal with the matter, but he could not leave the rift in time, so he needed her to come down to the human world.
After listening, Yinglong followed his fingers and wrapped them around her arm. She hung herself above the pool, staring at the hazy smoke and asked, "What does 'war' mean?"
"It's all about fighting." The god thought for a moment and gave a brief explanation of the struggles among humans and the composition of the major tribes.
Yinglong, being intelligent, quickly understood everything he said, but she still didn't quite understand. "Why only help the tribe called Huang, but not the other side? Is it because they didn't ask you for help?"
God did not answer her, but just stared at the water. Yinglong felt that she could not understand the expression on his face.
But it doesn't matter, she thought. It's better to go to the human world. It's not like this place. There are only the four of them all alone there. Maybe she can learn more in the human world. Maybe one day she will be able to understand God's meaning.
She climbed down from the god and transformed into a graceful young woman upon landing.
Yinglong is exceptionally gifted at transformation. She can transform into a human simply by thinking of a phantom in her mind. However, for some reason, when she stands before a god in human form, he never dares to look up at her.
Yinglong skipped away from the pool. Before going to the mortal world, she had one more thing to do.
After searching for a long time throughout the rift in time, she finally found Nüba among a pile of colorful pebbles. She brushed the pebbles off her body and then carefully held her in her hands.
Nüba is somewhat different from Yinglong. Her original form was a piece of grayish-white transparent mica that had been there for ten thousand years. Although she was born with a natural appearance, she only developed a fleeting consciousness.
Normally, Nüba only wants to turn into stone and hide in a corner, and no one but Yinglong can find her.
Of course, the rift in time is eternal and lonely. Even the gods always forget the existence of Nüba, who also fears everything except Yinglong.
"Nüba, I have good news to tell you!" Yinglong excitedly pressed the tip of his nose against the stone.
The mica stone waved blankly in her palm as a response.
"That god asked me to help him, saying I had to go down to earth and fight for someone else!"
The stone wobbled again.
He also said that a day in heaven is like a year on earth, so I didn't know how long I would be gone, and I thought I'd come and say goodbye.
This time, the stone remained still, lying in my palm with a much duller luster, looking inexplicably disappointed.
"So! I need to see you successfully transform before I leave!" She gently shook the demon, Nuwa, up and down. "This time, you can't escape!"
He then placed the stone on a flat surface and sat down cross-legged opposite it.
She couldn't contain her excitement and poked the female demon on the ground. "Don't be nervous! Everyone says you're actually very smart, you can definitely transform into a human!" Yinglong stroked his chin and thought for a moment. "How about this, just think of your favorite look and transform into it!"
After she finished speaking, she stared at the mica stone with anticipation.
Time seemed to stand still. After a long time, Nüba finally moved. It was clear that she was trying to change. A cloud of mist containing starlight slowly rose from all around, obscuring Yinglong's vision. When she could see clearly again, she saw someone kneeling opposite her who looked exactly like her.
"No, no! It's me!" she shouted.
Unexpectedly, the other "self" tilted its head in confusion and blinked its eyes in bewilderment.
"But my... favorite... is Yinglong." Nuba's voice was as hazy and elusive as she was.
Yinglong scratched his head in distress. "But if I do this, I won't be able to tell who I really am."
"Alright then." Nüba thought for a moment, then her facial features were strangely reversed; what was originally her left eye became her mouth, and what was originally her nose became her blinking eye. "How about this?"
"No, no! Absolutely not!" Yinglong quickly went over and smeared the smear on her face haphazardly. "This is too scary, it doesn't look good at all!"
"Oh..." Nüba lowered her head somewhat dejectedly, her long black hair blocking her view, making her look even more terrifying.
"How about this, you can make some minor changes to resemble me!" she said, lifting a strand of Nüba's long hair. "For example, you could change the color of your hair. I think your natural color is already very beautiful!"
“Okay.” Nüba nodded, and the next second her long hair turned into a flowing, gem-like gray-white.
"Yes, yes, yes! That's it! Bigger eyes, smaller nose, more upturned lips... Yes, yes, yes! So beautiful!"
Thus, under Yinglong's guidance, the human-like Nüba successfully transformed into human form.
She gently stroked the head of the demon, just like a god would stroke a stinky dog.
"Alright, that's one of my biggest wishes fulfilled! Now I can go fight without worry! You just stay here and wait for me to come back."
"Okay." Nüba nodded obediently.
Seeing her like this, and fearing she might be lonely, Yinglong solemnly added, "I will definitely come back! Maybe you'll fall asleep and I'll suddenly appear!"
Because that's what she told Nüba, after she left, Nüba lay down in that spot next to a pile of rocks, closed her eyes, and tried to fall asleep, hoping that when she opened her eyes again, Yinglong would already be back.
But when she woke up again, she saw the face of God.
He scratched his head somewhat embarrassedly, glancing awkwardly to the side. He told Nüba that Yinglong had lost a fight down below and asked him to tell her that he needed her help.
"Help? Is that considered fighting?"
"Maybe so." God squatted down and spoke to her, his arms clasped together as if he wanted to say something but hesitated. "Are you going?" he asked.
"Go." With that, Nüba tried to stand up, but she was not used to using a human body. After struggling for a long time, she finally stood up weakly, her head drooping and her arms dragging like two sticks.
She staggered forward two steps, only to find that God was still squatting in the same spot.
"What's wrong?" Nuba didn't really know the way. The rift in time was too big for her, and she rarely moved around. She needed a god to lead the way.
"Alright." God finally stood up, supporting himself on his knees. "Let's go." He then swaggered ahead, leading Nüba to the pool where she usually sat. He pointed to the water and told her that if she jumped in from there, she could reach the human world.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" Seeing Nüba about to jump down, the god quickly stopped her. "Wait! Wait..."
Nuba looked at him blankly.
"It's like this, Jianmu, which can connect the heavens and the human world, has run away for some reason, so now only Wu Ji Tianmen, which can transport the Heavenly Stone, remains in the human world." The god explained to her with gestures, but seeing that Nüba had no reaction, he thought she did not understand what he meant, so he said again: "So, the road to heaven is gone. After you jump down, you will never come back."
“There are many, many people below,” he added.
Even the gods knew that Mica Stone was naturally timid; even Little White and he were afraid of it, let alone the masses of people in the human world.
After hearing this, Nüba squatted down by the pool and stretched out a finger to stir the calm water.
“She asked me to go, so I have to go.”
When Nüba heard the god sigh, she squatted down next to him.
He touched his nose and said in a muffled voice, "Then let's go, and take Xiaobai with us."
"Okay." Although Nüba didn't know why she had to bring the dog along, she didn't want to ask any more questions. Thinking that Yinglong might be anxiously waiting, she instantly transformed into a cloud of fine, shimmering white sand and began a thorough search for Xiaobai.
It's strange. She had just noticed that this dog usually loved to follow God around, never leaving his side, even sleeping together. But today, for some reason, it was nowhere to be found.
Amidst the swirling sandstorm, she searched for a long time before finally finding the white dog among a pile of tattered cloth.
When Xiao Bai realized he had been discovered, he started cursing at her. Apparently, after taking a nap, even a stinky dog can talk.
Nüba was most afraid of him before, but now she was busy looking for Yinglong, and no matter how nasty the dog's curses were or how terrifying his fangs were, she still swept him up in the wind without saying a word, and then flew to the edge of the pool following the mark she had left behind.
God is no longer here.
Without any hesitation, Nüba wrapped Xiaobai in her clothes and jumped into the pool.
The wind howled in their ears, and the colors changed rapidly. Soon they landed on a mountaintop.
There is a dead tree growing on the top of the mountain.
Xiao Bai frantically broke free from Nüba's embrace, then ran headlong into the withered tree without looking back.
Nuba stood still, and soon heard mournful cries coming from inside. Kindly, she moved to the side of the tree hole and cautiously peeked inside.
“It’s no use, he said the road to heaven is blocked…” Before she could finish speaking, Xiao Bai suddenly vomited a mouthful of blood, and Nüba was so frightened that she ran away immediately.
The human world is indeed terrifying; Little White vomited blood as soon as it landed.
She had to find Yinglong quickly.
