Upon realizing that his group had been discovered, Shiraishi calmed down.
Hiding behind the hill, he could clearly see the attire of these people, who were undoubtedly cavalrymen from the Cheshi Kingdom.
To his surprise, it was Prince Anxin of Cheshi Kingdom who personally led the team to find Princess Sharde.
It turns out that the people of Cheshi and the Xianbei had already colluded to divide up the wealth of Loulan.
What shocked Bai Shi even more was that the Prime Minister Anran Weiji had betrayed Loulan and colluded with the people of Cheshi.
King Wei Liao, who was in Loulan City, was in grave danger.
Bai Shi was powerless to do anything about it; the most important thing now was to prevent the princess from falling into the hands of the Cheshi people.
They must risk their lives to help the princess escape.
"Split up! We'll draw the enemy away, you two escort the princess, running eastward at full speed, don't turn back until you reach Yumen Pass!"
Shiraishi looked resolute.
He knew that showing himself would mean certain death, but he had no other choice.
"Commander Shiraishi, it's all my fault!"
Shard was terrified, her face pale and her eyes filled with tears. She was already feeling incredibly guilty.
If she hadn't startled the warhorses, how would they have discovered her?
"Princess, please take care. Even if the Loulan Kingdom is destroyed by the Xianbei, as long as you are still alive, the kingdom will not perish!"
"You must find the Han army and kill all the Xianbei and Cheshi people to avenge us."
After Bai Shi finished speaking, he mounted his warhorse without hesitation and called to the guards behind him:
"Brothers, follow me and charge out to draw them away so the princess can escape."
With a rapid thud of hooves, Bai Shi and seven or eight guards mounted their warhorses, raised their longswords, and charged towards Prince An Xin and his entourage.
Prince Anxin and his men were preparing to gather their forces and surround the area behind the hill.
They were cautious, worried about an ambush.
But to everyone's surprise, a troop of cavalry charged out from behind the hill with great force.
“I recognize these people. They are the guards of the King of Loulan. The one in the lead is Commander Baishi.”
"The princess must be among them. Men, charge! Capture them alive! There will be a great reward."
Prince Anxin roared.
More than a hundred horses spread out and surrounded Bai Shi and his seven or eight riders.
Whoosh!
Bai Shi shot arrows from horseback, felling several riders before turning his horse and heading south.
He planned to lure these people to Bailongdui, hoping that the complex terrain might allow them to survive by chance.
"Trying to run? No way! Chase after them!"
Prince Anxin cleaved the arrows aimed at him with his sword and grinned maliciously.
Instantly, dust billowed and smoke filled the Gobi Desert.
Two groups of cavalrymen, one in front and one behind, fled south in a cloud of dust.
"Princess, mount your horse quickly, let's go!"
Seeing that Bai Shi was leading the Cheshi cavalry away, the two guards reminded Shard to set off.
With tears in her eyes, Sharde looked in the direction where White Stone had gone, gritted her teeth, and shouted, "Go!"
The three riders sped out from behind the hill and raced toward Yumen Pass.
"Prince, more warhorses are emerging from behind the hill!"
The cavalry of Cheshi Kingdom, who had run three miles, shouted and chased after Bai Shi and his group. Some of them occasionally looked back and saw that there were still knights on this side of the hill, so they hurriedly reported to Prince Anxin.
"Damn it, we've fallen for their trap!"
Prince Anxin slapped his forehead, "How could I be so stupid? It was clearly Bai Shi's way of luring us away from our mountain."
“You continue to pursue Bai Shi, capture him and leave him alive for me. An Ranweiji said this man is of great use.”
“You twenty men, come with me to chase after these three riders. I suspect the princess is among them.”
"Once I catch up with the princess, I'll take care of her right here in this yellow sand, hehe."
Immediately, more than twenty riders broke away from the group and, led by Prince Anxin, chased after Shard in the direction he had fled.
"Giddy up! Giddy up!"
Shard and his two companions spurred their warhorses on, treading through the rolling yellow sand as they headed east.
Behind them, twenty riders kicked up clouds of yellow sand, chasing closely behind.
The warhorses galloped on and on, their bodies glistening with sweat.
On horseback, Shard was tossed about by the undulating warhorse, her hair disheveled and panting heavily.
I don't know how long we ran, but finally a city wall appeared on the horizon ahead, with a tall city gate tower in sight.
"Yumen Pass!"
Shard felt a surge of joy. "Yumen Pass is just ahead."
"We'll be safe once we reach the pass."
Meanwhile, the pursuers behind them were getting closer and closer, and strange cries rose and fell.
Prince Anxin's warhorse was very strong; even after running for so long, it was still moving as fast as the wind.
He had caught up to Shard within twenty paces.
Judging from the person's flowing black hair and petite figure from behind, Prince Anxin was certain that this person was Princess Sharde.
Following the wind, he greedily inhaled the princess's sweaty, body-scented fragrance, and felt a surge of heat throughout his body.
He shouted:
"My dearest princess, I am your husband. Don't run away, let's get married together!"
"Once we're married, I'll lead the army of Cheshi Kingdom to rescue Loulan Kingdom and my father-in-law, hehe!"
Seeing the pursuers closing in aggressively, the two guards exchanged a glance and made up their minds to sacrifice themselves to slow down the pursuers.
"Princess, don't look back, run!"
With a roar, the two men turned their horses around and charged towards the pursuers. If they could knock down the leader of the pursuers, it would be worth it.
Prince Anxin saw two riders charging towards him from the opposite direction and roared angrily, "You're courting death!"
A volley of arrows shot out horizontally, and two Loulan guards were shot off their horses before they could even reach Prince Anxin.
