Chapter 500 Zhang Ju is dead, Zhang Chun is captured!

Zhang Ju never expected that his trusted retainer would betray him.

Wang Zheng and his men were injured; Yongnu was a city surrendered by Zhang Bo!

Just as Wang Zheng pulled out a knife and stabbed it into Zhang Ju's abdomen, Zhang Ju was momentarily stunned before realizing that what he had heard was not true.

It must have been Wang Zheng who defected to the imperial court and betrayed Zhang Bo.

Then he pretended to be injured, gained Zhang Ju's trust, and lurked by his side.

All these days, all for this one cut today.

Zhang Ju's face contorted in pain, and his hands gripped Wang Zheng's shoulders tightly.

"Wang Zheng, I have treated you well, why...why did you betray me?"

Wang Zheng remained expressionless and coldly said, "Zhang Ju, those who oppose the imperial court will never have a good end!"

"The prince of the Han Dynasty has promised me the position of governor, but he will give me your head in exchange."

Wang Zheng's knife moved back and forth, stabbing Zhang Ju in the abdomen again and again.

Zhang Ju was already lifeless, but he died with his eyes wide open, never expecting to die at the hands of his retainer.

Zhang Chun, who was standing to the side, was already stunned by the sudden scene and couldn't move her legs for a moment.

It wasn't until Zhang Ju collapsed to the ground with a dull thud that he came to his senses, turned and ran, shouting as he went:

"Guards! Wang Zheng has rebelled!"

Before he could even reach the outside of the main tent, Wang Zheng lunged at him menacingly.

Zhang Chun quickly dodged, knowing he would be safe as long as the guards outside the tent heard his voice and came to his aid!

However, there was no sign of Zhang Chun's guards appearing outside the tent. Instead, a dozen or so burly men covered in blood walked in carrying knives.

"Brother, we've taken care of everyone outside the tent!" a bearded man said casually, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

As soon as they entered, they surrounded Zhang Chun, leaving him with no way out.

"Zhang Chun, surrender now and I will spare your life, allowing you to live until you reach the King of Clouds."

Whether he kills you or not is not up to me!

Seeing that Zhang Chun was already under their control, Wang Zheng said coldly.

"You all just want to use my head to get promoted and richer!"

Seeing that there was nowhere left to retreat, Zhang Chun sighed, "Throughout history, those who betray their masters have never had a good ending."

"You have chosen to betray your benefactor for your own wealth and glory; you will surely be punished by heaven!"

"Pah!"

The bearded man spat at Zhang Chun.

"Brother, stop wasting words with him and tie him up! We are still in the central army camp. We will use him as a hostage and wait for the imperial army to arrive."

Upon hearing Zhang Chun's words, Wang Zheng's face immediately turned angry: "Make your move and shut his mouth."

Several men attacked Zhang Chun, but Zhang Chun spotted one of them, snatched a longsword, and prepared to slit his own throat.

If he were captured alive and brought before the Han prince, he would probably be escorted back to Luoyang, then subjected to a joint trial by three judges, paraded through the streets, and beheaded as a warning to the public.

Thinking about all the torment he still had to endure, he wanted to end his life.

"Still trying to commit suicide?" The bearded man suddenly knocked the sword out of Zhang Chun's hand and punched him hard in the face, knocking Zhang Chun to the ground.

The others rushed forward, tied Zhang Chun up tightly, and gagged him.

Others cut off Zhang Ju's head and wrapped it in cloth.

By this time, chaos had broken out outside, with cries and the sound of hurried footsteps echoing everywhere.

Then someone shouted, "The imperial army is coming! Run!"

"Lay down your weapons, kneel down and surrender to avoid death!"

Then came another series of angry roars.

Ping ping bang bang!

Weapons kept being thrown to the ground, and then someone shouted, "Don't kill me, we surrender!"

Wang Zheng lifted a corner of the tent flap and looked outside.

Countless rebels knelt down and surrendered, while countless others abandoned their weapons and fled in all directions.

Wang Zheng saw the tall horses and fluttering banners of the Han Dynasty army in the northwest.

It turned out that Zhao Yun, Wang Fangyi, Liu Du and others, relying on their superior troop types, quickly routed Murong Mohuba's 20,000 men.

While Zhao Yun led the Guan Ning cavalry in a charge, he, along with Zhao Xin, Zhao Kai, and thirty other loyal followers, charged headlong towards Murong Mohuba's banner.

Wherever they go, no one can stop them!

Seeing Zhao Yun charging towards them, Murong Mohuba hurriedly ordered the centurions around him to step forward and stop him.

But they were no match for Zhao Yun. Before they had even exchanged a few blows, they were all killed by Zhao Yun.

Murong Mohuba tried to escape, but Zhao Yun caught up with him on horseback, stabbed him to death with a spear, and then cut down the commander's flag with his sword.

The morale of the 20,000 Murong Xianbei cavalrymen was thrown into chaos, and they lost their will to fight, retreating in droves.

Li Su and Yuwen Lie led their troops in pursuit, killing countless enemies.

Yuwen Lie immediately called for the surrender of several thousand people.

The two guarded the prisoners and advanced steadily, approaching the rebel coalition camp.

The 10,000 rebel troops that Zhang Chun sent to assist Murong Mohuba had already fled when they saw the Murong Xianbei cavalry retreating like a mountain.

Liu Du led the three guards of Duoyan in pursuit, heading towards the rebel army's central camp.

As soon as Wang Zheng showed his face, Liu Du saw him.

"The enemy leader is inside the main tent. Shoot him!"

Without hesitation, Liu Du ordered his cavalry to surround the camp and fire arrows.

Whoosh!

Several of Wang Zheng's brothers were hit by arrows, and the one with the thick beard who screamed the loudest was riddled with arrows like a hedgehog.

He was dumbfounded!

Upon seeing that the visitors were Xianbei barbarians, they assumed they were cavalrymen of the Murong Xianbei who had retreated from the northwestern battlefield, and for a moment they were at a loss for what to do.

Revealing his identity as a spy for the Han imperial prince would only incur even more hatred from these "Murong Xianbei" cavalry.

Then he remembered that he was still Zhang Ju's retainer, and these "Murong Xianbei" cavalrymen should recognize him.
