Chapter 46 Fairy Tale
Shi Yin entered the bedroom.
The curtains are closed.
There was only a dim sleeping light on in the room.
When she arrived, the resident doctor was packing up the medicine box. Shi Yin glanced at Han Zhan, who was lying flat on the bed with a needle stuck in the back of his hand. He was in the shadows of the backlight, so she couldn't see his expression. She thought he was asleep, so she asked the doctor softly, "How is Ah Zhan?"
"Mild allergy."
"Then why do you feel dizzy?"
"Sir, you have a cold," the doctor explained. "The temperature has dropped rapidly recently, and it's easy to catch a cold if you're not careful. The power was out at the villa overnight a few days ago, so he might have caught a cold then. And today he's allergic to seafood, so he's had a fever too."
He was lighting the fireplace that night.
The housekeeper said he ran to the backyard to fetch some firewood, and to prevent the smoke from entering the house and disturbing the others' rest, he lit a fire next to the ventilation hole. He then sat in the rocking chair in the master bedroom all night, adding firewood every two hours.
I guess I was caught in a cold wind at that time.
No timely diagnosis and treatment.
If you delay, it will turn into a high fever.
"Once the fever goes away, sir, take some of the allergy medicine I prescribed, and you'll get better," the doctor added.
"Yeah, I understand."
"Then I'll be out first, ma'am. I'll come back to change this bottle of medicine after I finish it."
"good."
Shi Yin saw the doctor off and returned to the bedroom, a damp towel in hand. She walked over, leaning over to where Han Zhan was resting with his eyes closed. He looked adorable in his peaceful sleep, with his long eyelashes, high nose bridge, naturally rosy lips, and even the wisps of hair drooping across his forehead, which seemed endearing.
She ruffled his hair.
Put the towel on it.
"It's too cold, wife."
Han Zhan suddenly spoke.
His voice was a little hoarse due to his illness, which made him less serious and sound more magnetic and steady. Shi Yin was startled by him. Before she could recover from the shock, she saw him open his eyes.
Close eye contact.
With the dim light from the bedside, she saw her own appearance in his dark eyes.
"Aren't you dizzy?" Shi Yin withdrew her hand.
"I woke up from the cold."
"The doctor said applying a cold towel to the forehead can help reduce the fever faster."
"Really?" Han Zhan sat up, caught the wet towel that fell from his forehead with his other hand, and put it back on his forehead obediently: "What should I do if I can't sleep?"
"Take a sleeping pill?"
"I won't grant your wish to be a widow."
"Who said I—"
"My husband is dead. I don't have to worry about my children. I don't have to take care of my parents-in-law. I live in a big single-family house, I have money that I can never spend, and I have a very obedient wolfhound."
The more you listen, the more spirited the sound becomes.
Her eyes lit up when she heard the last part.
Han Zhan was amused by her, "You still dare to say you don't have this idea?"
I really hadn't before, but after listening to it, I was really moved. Shi Yin pursed her lips and smiled, then changed the subject: "Shall I tell you a story? Maybe it will help you sleep."
Han Zhan refused: "Only children listen to stories."
"How about Grimm's Fairy Tales?"
"I don't like it."
"Then there was a fisherman and his wife. He and his wife lived in a little village by the sea..."
The lighting is soft.
The woman's voice was soft.
Han Zhan lay on his side in bed, silently gazing at Shi Yin's picturesque face beside him. All around him was quiet, no disturbing noise, no troubling human entanglements. His heart gradually settled, his limbs relaxed, as if he were walking on soft clouds, a perfect comfort.
He finally understood why Ash loved listening to her stories so much.
The usually unruly wolfhound was like a young puppy in front of her, clinging to her shamelessly and staying by her side all the time. When he saw her, his sinister eyes suddenly became clear, and he could only grin and wag his tail like a windmill.
turn out to be.
She’s a real storyteller.
Very nice.
Makes people feel at ease.
It was as if I had been walking on the road for a very long time and was very tired. In front of her, I could finally stop and close my eyes to rest without any worries.
"How can you be so fluent without reading books?" Han Zhan looked at her.
"..." Because she had told these stories to Ah Xiu so many times, she had memorized them. Shi Yin didn't say this. If he knew that she told him the stories she told to the dog, the second young master Han would be suspicious again.
"I watched it a lot when I was a kid." Shi Yin replied.
"Today's salty porridge tastes good." Han Zhan changed the subject.
"I didn't know you were allergic to seafood. If you want to drink it next time, I'll try a different dish. Their corn and pork rib porridge is also delicious."
"Do you drink there often?"
“I used to go there often when I was in school.”
"With friends?"
"Yeah." Shi Yin nodded. She glanced at the IV bottle on the shelf above her head and quickly stood up: "The medicine is almost finished. I'll go outside and call the doctor to change it."
The woman's back disappeared at the door.
Han Zhan coughed a few times and looked away. Then the phone on the bedside table rang. He reached out and picked it up, answering the call from Lu Cheng: "What's wrong?"
Hear the sound.
The person on the other end paused for a moment.
"Are you sick?" Lu Cheng asked.
"It's a small matter."
"Then why don't you postpone your meeting and dinner with your partner Eiton for a few days? He's in Rongcheng, and you're sick. If you travel all the way here and stay for three to five days, I'm afraid your body won't be able to handle it."
"Shi Yin is taking care of me."
"Excuse me, what is the relationship between the two, Master Han?"
Han Zhan chuckled, "My wife will heal quickly if she takes care of me personally."
Lu Cheng, "Why didn't you die of illness?"
"What if someone bullies my wife after I die? For her, I will live a long life. Forget it, I won't talk to someone like you who has been single for a long time. You won't understand even if I tell you."
Lu Cheng: "..."
Hearing the sound of the door opening outside, Han Zhan dropped his joking tone and said seriously: "We will still meet as agreed before. I will be at the airport on time tomorrow afternoon."
…
Shi Yin led the doctor into the bedroom.
Han Zhan lay there weakly, his pale face looking as if his condition had worsened. The doctor hurried over to replace the third bottle of medicine, checked the medicine, and then looked at the person lying on the bed.
That's impossible.
He has been practicing medicine for so many years, so curing a fever is easy for him.
Logically speaking, if you prescribe four bottles of medicine, the high fever will go down after the second bottle, and you will feel more comfortable, and your energy and spirit will be much better. Why is you different from others?
Did he prescribe the wrong medicine?
The doctor hurried out of the study and checked the medicine box with great trepidation.
Shi Yin didn't question the doctor's unusual behavior. She sat down again by the bed, tucked in the blanket for the patient, Han, and changed the wet towel on his forehead. "Let me tell you two more stories."
"My wife is so nice."
"How about the candy house?"
"All good."
"Well, once upon a time there was a magical candy house in a beautiful town..."
at the same time.
downstairs.
The doctor checked the prescription and the box three times, but found nothing wrong. He went upstairs again, entered the study, walked quickly to the bedroom, and suddenly stopped at the door.
Just because she met the cold eyes of the man on the bed.
Han Zhan made a 'hush' gesture.
Glancing to the side, the doctor spotted Shi Yin dozing off in a chair beside the bed. She was still reciting a story, her voice growing quieter as she finally slumped over against the bed.
The doctor left the study silently.
Close the door.
Meeting the newly arrived housekeeper in the corridor, Uncle Han glanced behind him and asked, "Is the master feeling better?"
"It should be much better now."
"ah?"
"I guess the gentleman doesn't want to get better today. I'll follow his instructions and come back to deliver the medicine later." The doctor said, and then added: "Butler Han, please don't go in. The gentleman is watching his wife sleep."
housekeeper:"?"
