Chapter 8: Take Back What You Have Lost

Chapter 8: Take Back What You Have Lost

Shi Yin fell on the flower stand.

There were a few minor scrapes on the arms and calves.

The private doctor at home cleaned her wound, placed the ointment on the coffee table in front of her, bowed respectfully to Han Zhan who was sitting on the single sofa, and left the living room with the medicine box.

The hall fell silent.

Han Zhan's gaze fixed on Shi Yin, who was standing opposite him. He stared at her pale face for a long time before saying, "The back lake is a special activity area for Ah Xiu. If you're timid, try not to go there."

Shi Yin nodded. "The servant said the scenery of Houhu Lake is beautiful and asked me to go for a walk. I didn't expect to run into your wolfhound."

Han Zhan rubbed her fingers a few times, looking at the scrapes on her body and the dirt on her dress. No one had ever escaped unscathed from Ah Xiu's claws when he lost control and pounced on someone. Shi Yin was the first one to do so in the five or six years since he adopted Ah Xiu.

"When your life is in danger, your brain works very quickly," Han Zhan said.

"Maybe I was lucky. I happened to see the military markings on Ah Xiu's body when I fell." Shi Yin said calmly, and then said, "I immediately played an international peacekeeping force song and escaped this disaster."

Han Zhan raised his eyebrows.

It is undeniable that her cleverness was correct.

He stood up from the sofa and, as he left, reminded her to apply the medicine regularly. She nodded in response, her expression dazed and vacant, like a fool. She had no good sense, and her IQ wasn't high.

A moment later, Shi Yin was the only one left in the large living room. She reached out and picked up the ointment left by the doctor on the coffee table. A sound came from outside the window. Shi Yin looked up and saw a large group of servants gathered together. They seemed to have been fired and were begging the butler to help them stay.

Obviously.

The butler doesn't have that much face.

The next morning, Shi Yin went downstairs to find that all the servants in the villa had been replaced. She went to the living room and sorted out the design drawings she had placed next to the sofa the previous night.

Shi Yin met Han Zhan in the restaurant five minutes later.

He was wearing a set of home clothes, which made him look less evil and ruffian. The life atmosphere revealed in his laziness made him look much more gentle and serious. At first glance, he looked like a noble and elegant young man from the old Beijing style.

This good image only lasted for a few seconds. It was shattered the moment Han Zhan raised his peach blossom eyes and smiled at Shi Yin and said, "Did you sleep well last night, honey?"

Shi Yin: “…”

Flower peacock.

Extravagant and sentimental.

I don’t know how many decent women have been harmed by this.

Shi Yin glanced at him calmly, maintaining her good girl appearance to the outside world, nodded meekly in response to his words, then pulled out the chair in front of her and sat down quietly.

The butler came and served the meal.

For the next five or six minutes, the spacious dining room was filled only by the gentle clinking of dishes and chopsticks. Shi Yin gripped the handle of her spoon, occasionally glancing up at the person across from her. It's true that even if someone from a wealthy family has bad behavior, they still possess the inner qualities fostered by money and living conditions.

The movements are orderly.

Relax in moderation.

"Does it look good?" Han Zhan suddenly raised his eyes, and Shi Yin fell into his dark eyes without any defense, and was held firmly by him. He smiled and teased her: "When we get married, I will be yours. There will be plenty of time to see you in the future. Be good and eat first. The porridge will not taste good if it gets cold."

Shi Yin choked.

The oatmeal porridge in her mouth, which she hadn't completely swallowed, got stuck in her throat, and she bent over and started coughing. Han Zhan handed her a glass of warm water, and she tilted her head back and drank several sips before she could suppress the discomfort.

Taking a few deep breaths, Shi Yin clenched her spoon tightly and drank her porridge seriously, not looking up at him again. She heard him chuckle, and not long after, she heard him say, "I rarely stay in this villa, and I leave all the big and small things to Uncle Han (the housekeeper). As a result, the servants neglected you, causing you to fall and get hurt."

"I've always been clear about gratitude and resentment. It's my responsibility and I will definitely bear it to the end. Besides helping you get Song Sinian back from your sister, if you have anything else you want, just ask."

Shi Yin slowed down her porridge drinking. She raised her head, pursed her lips several times, and then spoke tentatively: "The day after tomorrow at 8 o'clock, a royal cruise ship will leave from the Beijing port. I would like a ticket to the dinner, is that possible?"

"Just this?"

"Well, it's said to be very lively. I want to go and see it."

"Can."

"Thanks!"

Her eyes were filled with smile.

From Han Zhan's perspective, he could clearly see the incandescent light of the chandelier reflected in her almond-shaped eyes, flickering. He didn't ask her why she was going to the banquet, but instead said something else: "I went to the mall to buy a wedding ring this afternoon. I'll need it when I return to the Han residence in a few days."

"Do you need to buy yours?" Shi Yin asked.

"I know you're still thinking about your cheating ex-fiancé, but you don't have to be so hard on me, right? After all, we got our marriage certificate yesterday and are legally married. Wouldn't it be a bit awkward for you to buy your own wedding ring instead of mine, honey?"

"That's not what I meant." Shi Yin explained quickly, "I don't know the circumference of your finger, and I'm worried that if I buy the wrong ring size, it won't fit you."

Han Zhan said "oh".

The ending tone was drawn out, as if he was deliberately teasing her.

After watching her hurriedly explaining herself for a while, Master Han, who had eaten and drunk his fill, stood up, walked around the table and stopped beside her for a moment, said "18 laps" and left the restaurant.

Han Zhan went out.

He didn't say where he was going or whether he would be back in the evening.

Adhering to the principle of being a good wife, Shi Yin did not ask about his private affairs. After breakfast, she went upstairs to change her clothes, then left Beishan Villa and went to Shi's Building.

The chairman's office door was ajar. Shi Yin walked over and caught a glimpse of her father through the crack. The man sat in his chair, a frown on his face. The secretary beside him was still reporting on last night's work. "Ms. Berley was very dissatisfied with the dress we provided this time. She said she'd give us another chance because of the mermaid dress."

When Shi Yin heard the words "fishtail skirt", her eyes suddenly turned cold.

Shi Qinghe, the eldest daughter of the Shi family, is the company's deputy director of design, while Shi Yin, the second daughter, is a humble employee in the design department. If both daughters were executives, the directors would be unhappy. Faced with a choice between the two, her father chose Shi Qinghe, leaving Shi Yin feeling wronged.

My father said, "Qinghe injured her legs for you. The position of deputy design director should be your compensation to her."

Shi Yin endured it.

It's just a matter of position, she can climb up with her own strength.

Three months ago, the secretary of Ms. Jin Baili, a member of the M country parliament, announced that she wanted to customize an evening gown. The high-end fashion design circle was suddenly in an uproar, and everyone wanted to grab this order, and Shi Yin was no exception.

She stayed up many nights.

After watching countless news reports about Ms. Jin Baili attending banquets, visiting many places, and gradually figuring out Jin Baili's preferences, I revised hundreds of versions and finally drew the clothing draft of the fishtail skirt.

But she couldn't see Jin Baili.

Without any connections or resources, he could only wait outside the No. 1 Club where Jin Baili lived again and again, and call the other party's secretary again and again to request a meeting.

Even so, Shi Yin still didn't see Jin Baili.

She remembered clearly that autumn had arrived, and a torrential downpour had hit the capital. She had returned to the Shi Residence drenched to the skin. As she entered the hallway, she heard her father say, "Qinghe, Dad has arranged a dinner for you with Ms. Berley. Tomorrow, dress up nicely and bring your sketches to Qinyuanchun Chinese Restaurant."

His father spent a lot of money and used countless connections to get Shi Qinghe the opportunity to meet Ms. Jin Baili. Shi Yin's hard work was a joke compared to Shi Qinghe's effortless operation.

Shi Yin also endured these.

What made her lose control of her emotions was that Song Sinian stole her drawing. Shi Qinghe took the fishtail skirt drawing she made to meet Jin Baili, won the order, became famous, and became a new generation Ziwei star in the design industry.

Afterwards, there was a quarrel and a fight.

What I got in return was the usual perfunctory attitude from my parents.

The father said, "Yinyin, you've been wronged. When the company's profits double in a few days, Dad will announce your promotion at the board meeting."

The mother said, "Yinyin, just consider this as something your parents owe you. Don't make a big deal out of it. Qinghe's name is already on the design draft. If you force changes, outsiders will laugh at Qinghe. Your sister's emotions have been unstable since her leg injury, and she will collapse at the slightest provocation. I'm begging you, just one draft, please give it to Qinghe."

The culprit, Song Sinian, also looked down on her and accused her of having no conscience: "Qing He lost her legs because of you. So what if you gave her your manuscript? You are really becoming more and more selfish, Shi Yin!"

In this case, Shi Yin must of course be a selfish person.

She would openly and honestly snatch back her distinguished guest, Jin Baili, on the Royal Cruise the night after tomorrow! She would not give up a single cent of her fame, fortune, and glory to Shi Qinghe!
