Chapter 5

Jiang Xi handed him the household book and confirmed the address and name in the book.

Qian Feng compared the information in his mind with the household register, and all the information matched.

After confirming the identity of the beautiful comrade in front of him, he immediately stood up straight and said in a stern voice, "Hello, sister-in-law, my name is Qian Feng, and I am the orderly of the deputy regiment."

Jiang Xi was a little confused, "Why didn't Shen Mo come?"

Qian Feng scratched his head and grinned, "The deputy commander went on a mission recently and will be back in a few days. When the leader informed me, I believed that the deputy commander was really married."

Jiang Xi smiled and said, "Maybe your deputy leader doesn't want others to know that he is married."

Qian Feng saw her smile, and although she looked very pretty, he inexplicably felt a chill down his spine.

He was a straightforward person and followed Jiang Xi's words, saying, "How could that be possible? In fact, the deputy regiment commander mentioned three years ago that he was married, but he never came home to visit his family, and you, sister-in-law, didn't come to the army to see the deputy regiment commander, so we all thought he was joking with us."

Jiang Xing raised his eyebrows. The other person looked silly and spoke bluntly, so he thought he might be lying.

Qian Feng looked at Jiang Xi and said, "Sister-in-law, let me take you to the reception room of the army first."

Jiang Xing nodded and followed Qian Feng into the car.

Qian Feng sat in the driver's seat with a straight figure and squinting eyes, but the presence of a beautiful gay sitting next to him was too strong.

He saw that Jiang Xi wanted to talk very much, so he held back and didn't dare to open his mouth to disturb Jiang Xi.

An hour and a half later, the road the jeep was driving on gradually became less crowded until we saw the military gate.

Regardless of the era, the security measures at the military gate were very good, with guardhouses on both sides, and soldiers standing guard with upright postures on duty inside the guardhouses.

The jeep drove through the cordon and the soldier on guard came trotting over. When he saw Qian Feng, he saluted him.

Qian Feng said to the guard, "This is the deputy regiment commander's wife, our sister-in-law. I have checked her identity and there is no problem."

When the other party heard the title of "Deputy Head's Wife", his eyes fell on Jiang Qi in surprise and he greeted her politely, "Hello, sister-in-law."

"Hello." Jiang Xing felt a little embarrassed when they called her sister-in-law. She came here just to get a divorce.

The car drove into the military unit and Qian Feng parked next to a row of jeeps. Jiang Xing followed him out of the car and walked into the military unit. The military unit was full of men and they had few opportunities to interact with female soldiers, but the atmosphere on the road was a bit awkward.

After thinking about it, Qian Fengkai found a topic.

"Sister-in-law, where are you from?"

Jiang Xi said, "Yanghe County, Huaihe Village."

"Oh, you're from the countryside." Qian Feng nodded, with an understanding tone, but he soon realized that what he said sounded like he was judging her to be from the countryside. He immediately broke out in sweat and started to make amends, "Sister-in-law, I am judging...Yes, I also joined the army from the countryside. Oh, I'm not good at talking, sister-in-law, don't mind!"

Jiang Xing was amused by his reaction, "I do mind."

Along the way, she didn't ask questions or make any noises, and when she saw the troops, she looked around curiously and followed him openly.

She didn't look like a country girl at all. When he first met her, Qian Feng thought she was the eldest daughter of some rich family.

Jiang Xing actually had a lot to know, but in such a sacred and solemn place, she chose to be dumb. The more she spoke, the more mistakes she would make. If she subconsciously asked the right questions, what if she was mistaken for a spy?

Realizing that he had just said something wrong, Qian Feng dared not say a word at all and silently led Jiang Qing to the troops all the way.

"Stand still!"

A firm and solemn voice was heard, and Jiang Qi looked up subconsciously. A team of soldiers who were running in training were in front of them.

They saw Qian Feng stop and salute, and Qian Feng also returned the salute.

During training, everyone can laugh and joke around, and no one asks who the pretty comrade next to Qian Feng is.

But Jiang Qing could feel that the whole team's eyes were on her.

Well, she’s almost having social anxiety disorder after watching this.

Soon the training team left, and Qian Feng took Jiang Xi to the reception room and asked her to sit on a chair next to the table.

Qian Feng poured a glass of water for Jiang Li, "Sister-in-law, you take a rest first. I'll go ask the leader about your accommodation. The commander has no family, so he didn't apply for a family quarters when he followed the army to the capital. He has always lived in the army's male dormitory."

"Sorry for the trouble." Jiang Liu took the cup of water.

Qian Feng smiled and said, "Thank you for your help."

After he left, Jiang Xi looked up at the reception room. On the table opposite was a teacup with the words "Be vigilant, protect your home and country" printed on it.

Jiang Xing took a sip of water from the cup and heard the door being pushed open. She turned her head and saw a little boy in a red scarf walking in.

He is old, looks about 60 or 7 years old, and a little skinny.

Seeing Jiang Qi, he was stunned for a moment, then stepped back to the door and looked up to confirm that he was in the right place, then walked in again.

He walked to the only table in the room, sat down opposite Jiang Qi, took out his homework book from his tattered back, and silently bent over to do his homework.

Jiang Xi observed his little movements and couldn't help but burst out laughing. How could he be so calm and composed at such a young age?

When the little boy heard Jiang Liu's voice, he looked up at her, then quickly lowered his head and continued doing his homework.

Jiang Liu looked out the window. The bright sunlight filtered through the tree branches, adding a bit of warmth to the slightly cool air.

"Gululu~"

Jiang Xing listened to the tiny movement and tilted her head.

After a while, she heard the sound of her stomach growling again. She was sure it was not her stomach growling, but the little guy sitting opposite her.

Hearing the sound of his stomach growling, Jiang Xing's stomach also began to protest.

She took out the two meatballs that she hadn't finished eating this morning, took a bite of one of the meatballs, and noticed her gaze. She looked over, and the little guy immediately lowered his head when he saw her.

"oops!"

Jiang Xing pretended not to notice that the meat had fallen on the table, but picked it up quickly.

Jiang Xing held the meat and said, "It's a little dirty, let's throw it away."

"It seems a bit of a waste." Jiang Xing handed the meat to the little guy, "Do you want to eat it?"

The boy glanced at the meat in her hand and swallowed but did not move.

"You want to eat? If you want to eat, I'll throw it away."

Jiang Xing said as he threw the meat into the trash can beside him. Just as he raised his hand, the meat in his hand was taken away. The little guy ate the meat in one gulp, as if he was very hungry.

There were footsteps outside the door and Qian Feng pushed the door open and walked in.

"Sister-in-law, the leader said that the deputy regiment commander didn't apply for the family home, so he can't approve you to live in the family home. Can I arrange for you to live in the army guesthouse temporarily? When the deputy regiment commander comes back and applies for the family home, you can live with him."

"Okay." Jiang Xing nodded in agreement.

She now has enough money to live outside, and she can stay there for free.

Qian Feng pushed the door open and saw the child lying on the table. "Zhiqi, why are you doing your homework here again? Why don't you go home for dinner after class?"

Huo Zhiqi lowered his head and said, "That's my home."

Qian Feng could tell at a glance that he was in a good mood, so he walked over and touched his head, "Are you having a conflict with those two troublemakers in the chief's family again?"

"Don't touch my head, it's grown taller." Huo Zhiqi turned his head to let him touch it, "There's no conflict, I just want to find a quiet place to do my homework."
