Chapter 210 I saw everything

Prince Ning was a playful person. In his twenty years of life, the most persistent things he did were probably clinging to the Empress and keeping an eye on Xie Tingzhou this time.

Hearing that they were going to catch and fight crickets that night, which was something he had promised the King of Liang, he agreed without a second thought.

It's all about having fun, so it doesn't matter where you are.

However, he had to keep an eye on Xie Tingzhou until he finished his shift.

But as night fell and his stomach began to rumble, Xie Tingzhou remained buried in a pile of official documents.

"Xie Tingzhou, why aren't you home yet tonight?"

After sitting there for most of the day, Prince Ning couldn't take it anymore.

There were his men waiting outside the manor. As long as Xie Tingzhou returned to the manor, he could hand over his mission for the day.

Xie Tingzhou didn't even look up. "I'm busy. I have to go out of the city to investigate a case later. Your Highness may leave if you wish."

"Going out of town so late at night? What case are you investigating?"

Xie Tingzhou said calmly, "I have nothing to say. It's really pointless for Your Highness to keep such a close watch on me every day."

The Prince of Liang has been waiting for Your Highness for a long time; Your Highness should leave with him soon.

But Prince Ning was a stubborn man. The more Xie Tingzhou said that, the more suspicious he became. "You wouldn't have gone to see the Crown Prince behind our backs, would you?"

Xie Tingzhou seemed to have his thoughts guessed, his expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure and remained silent.

There's something wrong with Prince Liang. He came to see Prince Ning today, and Xie Tingzhou had a feeling something was amiss.

However, his relationship with Prince Ning was not close, so he couldn't rashly remind Prince Ning, lest Prince Ning turn around and tell Prince Liang, thus alerting the enemy.

Just like a few days ago, he used the pretext of looking for the old princess to get close to Prince Liang at Chunfeng Tower.

Prince Ning, being careless with his words, directly revealed the disappearance of the old princess to Prince Liang.

In Prince Ning's eyes, his youngest uncle was one of his own, and their relationship was better than that of Xie Tingzhou, an outsider.

Xie Tingzhou had little confidence in Ning Wang's words.

But he knew Prince Ning fairly well, and knew that his feigned guilty conscience earlier would have kept him there.

Sure enough, Prince Ning said to Prince Liang, "Little Imperial Uncle, I have something to do tonight, how about tomorrow night?"

Prince Ning didn't want to leave. He had been watching Xie Tingzhou for so long, and seeing that things were going wrong, he couldn't give up halfway.

What seemed like a sure thing turned out to be a disaster, and even the King of Liang began to have doubts about Xie Tingzhou. "I'm also curious, what was Young Master Xie doing out of the city at night?"

Could it be that Xie Tingzhou has figured something out and is deliberately stalling Prince Ning?

King Liang, confident in his usual playboy image, decided to pin his suspicions on Xie Tingzhou.

He wasn't as naive as Prince Ning, thinking that following Xie Tingzhou would lead him to the Crown Prince. He wanted to see if Xie Tingzhou was really in trouble.

But he didn't expect that Xie Tingzhou had gone to the mortuary to check on the corpses.

The stench of rotting corpses made the two princes vomit uncontrollably.

Seeing that Prince Ning had vomited up yellow fluid, his face was pale and his legs were weak when he walked.

Calculating the time again, it would be almost dawn by the time they returned to the city, so Prince Ning had managed to get through the night.

As for tomorrow night, if Prince Liang comes looking for him again, he will try to remind the Empress that Prince Ning still listens to her.

Thinking of this, Xie Tingzhou finished his work and returned to the city with the two princes.

Like Ye Zhen, he hadn't had a proper rest for several nights in a row.

After watching Prince Ning and Prince Liang part ways and enter Prince Ning's residence, Xie Tingzhou also returned to his residence, took a bath, and fell into a deep sleep.

He never expected that even though Prince Ning's legs were so weak that he had returned to his residence, Prince Liang could still provoke him into playing and follow him out.

Unfortunately, he followed the cricket and crawled into the dog hole of the general's mansion, where he happened to see Ye Wantang, who had woken up early due to the heat, swimming in the pond to cool off.

Ye Wantang was stared at naked by Prince Ning, and she cried out in surprise, even revealing Prince Ning's identity. The early risers nearby all heard it.

Prince Ning, preoccupied with chasing crickets, had no idea there was a naked woman in the pond, and screamed in fright as if he had seen a ghost.

Their shouts not only alarmed all the servants in the mansion, but also attracted many curious people outside the general's mansion.

The news spread throughout the capital in no time. Prince Ning explained that he had gone to find crickets, and Prince Liang also joined in as a witness.

However, the rumor eventually turned out that Prince Ning, lusting after Ye Wantang's beauty, entered her residence in the early hours of the morning and attempted to sexually assault her.

Ye Wantang cried, saying she was too ashamed to face anyone, and tried to hang herself with a white silk ribbon, but was rescued in time by the servants.

Fu Guang truthfully reported what had happened outside to Xie Tingzhou.

“Master, this is clearly a conspiracy between Ye Wantang and Prince Liang.”

Unfortunately, Prince Ning was a disappointment and insisted on walking into the trap.

Xie Tingzhou pressed his temples.

What was the palace's reaction?

"Chen Banjun went to the General's Mansion and brought Ye Wantang and Prince Ning into the palace. Prince Liang also went into the palace to apologize."

After thinking for a moment, Xie Tingzhou also got up and went to the palace.

Inside the Phoenix Palace.

Ye Wantang knelt on the ground, crying with immense grievance, "Your Majesty, the manor was robbed, and we are struggling financially. Wantang dares not use ice as before, and the heat is unbearable, so I thought of going to the water to escape..."

Who would have thought...who would have thought His Highness Prince Ning would show up so early in the morning? Wan Tang is too ashamed to live anymore. Please, please let Wan Tang go.

The empress remained calm, but her hands clenched tightly beneath her sleeves.

Prince Ning was completely clueless about matters of love and sex; he had never even touched any of the concubines in his household, so it was impossible for him to have gone to make advances toward Ye Wantang so early in the morning.

If he really had such intentions, he would have had plenty of opportunities when Ye Wantang frequently visited the palace before, so why would he wait until now?

People sympathize with the weak, and right now there's a chorus of curses directed at Prince Ning.

"Get up first. I will give you an explanation for this matter. Go with the nanny to the side hall to rest."

Ye Wantang was tired after acting all morning, and the Emperor and Empress also needed time. When the nanny came to help her up, she followed the nanny with teary eyes.
