The man had short hair, which looked clean and neat, making his features appear deep and handsome.
Behind him were a dozen or so elderly men in their sixties or seventies, some with white hair and others with overweight figures; they were all dressed in the style of ancient people in Ye Zhen's mind.
The next row behind them were middle-aged men of similar age to Shi Yan.
At the very end was a group of young men, all standing upright and in perfect order.
Ye Zhen's gaze quickly swept over the man and returned to him.
As Ye Zhen looked at the short-haired man, the man also looked at her, his eyes and brows smiling kindly. "She's a good child."
Ye Zhen guessed his identity.
My great-grandmother's twin brother, Shi Xinglan, nicknamed Abu, was the great-uncle who transformed into a spirit.
But she didn't know how to describe her feelings.
Her tone was that of an elder, but she looked only in her twenties. Although her father had told her many things beforehand, she still felt that the world was somewhat surreal when she actually saw her.
Shi Yan bowed and said, "A-Yan greets Uncle."
Ye Zhen also bowed in greeting.
Shi Xinglan smiled and nodded, "Good, good, you're all good kids."
Shi Yan then greeted the row of old men standing behind him, "Greetings, eldest cousin, second cousin, third cousin, fourth cousin..."
Ye Zhen followed suit and bowed to each of them.
These were the sons of Shi Xinglan and his wife and his five brothers-in-law, all around the age of Ye Zhen's grandfather, who praised her with loving expressions.
After greeting the elders, it was Shi Yan's cousins of the same generation who came forward to greet him, followed by those of the same generation as Ye Zhen.
They were remarkably orderly, yet their faces were filled with genuine smiles.
The men who came to meet them on the shore numbered in the dozens, and it took quite a bit of effort just to greet them.
Lady Wang and the others were dumbfounded, while at the same time marveling at the harmony and unity of the Pu Kingdom's royal family.
Shi Xinglan was a prince of the Great Wei Dynasty, yet he was as close as brothers with his five maternal brothers, and their descendants were also very close, with children from both surnames being ranked together in terms of seniority.
Madam Wang considered herself well-informed and had a good eye for people, but she didn't see any scheming on these people's faces.
It has a kind of subverted previous perceptions of royalty.
They all stepped forward to greet each other and received a warm welcome. They then went together to the royal palace of the Pu Kingdom and saw the women of the Pu Kingdom's royal family, where they greeted them again.
Women are much better at expressing themselves than men. They showered Ye Zhen and the others with compliments, and asked about Madam Wang and the others' situation in Dayuan. As they chatted, the distance between them quickly closed.
Even someone as quiet as Yin Jiuniang chatted enthusiastically with several women of similar age.
The women of the Pu Kingdom's royal family were incredibly hospitable and genuinely friendly.
It sounded like hundreds of chickens and ducks had entered the entire hall, their noises coming from every corner.
Finally, when the banquet began, Shi Xinglan spoke.
"There are too many people, it's so noisy my head is throbbing. Boss, you all go eat next door."
The eldest son he mentioned was the eldest son of his brother-in-law, now nearly seventy years old and the emperor of the Pu Kingdom.
Pu Di said with some resentment, "Uncle, you're disliking us again."
Shi Xinglan waved her hand, "You're all getting old, and you all have such solemn faces, it's affecting the guests' dining experience."
The Pu Emperor and his brothers numbered about ten, "..."
Who is older than you?
But since their aunt and uncle had finally returned, and it was such a rare opportunity for the whole family to reunite, they really wanted to have a meal with the elderly couple, so they looked at their aunt with pleading eyes.
Their aunt, Princess Xing'er, is now over eighty years old, but she still looks like she's eighteen, and she even has a fashionable perm with big waves.
She was a mermaid, and should have aged naturally, but she married a spirit. The union of the couple was blessed by the spirit's energy, and she also received the blessing of eternal youth and longevity.
In her youth, she was a pampered princess who didn't care about anything. After marrying into the Great Wei, her parents-in-law, sisters-in-law, and husband treated her like a precious treasure.
Even though she's now a great-grandmother, she still has a charming and innocent look. "My dears, before Auntie leaves, I'll have a special get-together with you all."
Upon hearing this, the old brothers of Emperor Pu were like children who had received candy, and happily left with their respective wives.
Shi Xinglan glanced at the large crowd again and spoke up once more, "Grandchildren over forty and great-grandchildren under fifteen, please step forward and go to the restaurant next door."
After another group left, the hall became much quieter.
Therefore, a sigh of relief sounded particularly clear.
Ye Zhen looked in the direction of the voice and saw a girl with curly hair, just like her great-aunt.
The girl had snow-white skin, naturally red lips, a round face, delicate features, and long, flowing hair like seaweed, making her seem like a mountain spirit, a sea fairy, or a celestial being.
When she met Ye Zhen's gaze, the girl winked at her.
We already knew each other when we greeted each other. She is Uncle Thirteen's daughter, Xiaoyuer.
She was twelve years old and breathed a sigh of relief at being allowed to stay.
Little Fish patted his chest, "I knew Grandpa and Grandma still liked Fish the most."
Then, Chao Shixinglan clasped his hands in thanks, saying, "Thank you for not driving us away, sir. Yu'er will certainly treat our guests well."
Shi Xinglan smiled and pointed at her, "Little rascal."
He then looked at Madam Wang and the others and said with a smile, "You flatter me, there are too many children, it's too noisy."
You've come from afar, so make sure you have a good meal on your first day. Rest well today, and tomorrow they'll take you out to play.
"You're too kind."
Mrs. Wang, acting as his representative, exchanged pleasantries with him.
It's strange, some people have such young faces, but you subconsciously treat them with the respect due to an elder.
After the meal, Shi Xinglan sent the rest of her descendants away, leaving only Shi Yan and a few others in the room.
He first looked at Shi Yan, "We've been busy over there lately, so your aunt and I will be going back tomorrow. If we're not available for your wedding, we won't be able to come. Your aunt has already sent someone to deliver the gifts to your residence."
