Chapter 137: Mr. Furuya's self-control...
How do you feel?
Of course he was a little annoyed, but it had nothing to do with his feelings towards Shuichi Akai himself.
Rei Furuya was silent for a few seconds, and the car happened to stop at a red light. He spoke fairly: "I have to admit, Akai's abilities are impeccable."
"To be able to climb to the position of a core member in an organization like that, and gain the trust of someone like Gin, that alone is enough to prove his ability. When the undercover operation was about to be completed, he almost took Gin with him. Although he ultimately failed, there is probably no one else in the organization's history who could do that."
"Later, he was relentlessly pursued by the organization, but not only did he escape unscathed, he was also able to fight back with ease, earning him the fearsome nickname 'Silver Bullet' from the organization. Not long ago, he even managed to pull off a masterful escape from the clutches of several organization members..."
He paused slightly, turned to look at Nekono Ikuya, and a very faint smile appeared on his lips: "It is indeed not something that ordinary people can do."
"His very existence is a powerful asset to the fight against the organization. From the perspective of purely fighting against the organization, having such a powerful ally is theoretically not a bad thing."
Nekono Ikuya listened quietly, her emerald green eyes reflecting her lover's earnest profile.
“However,” Furuya Rei changed the subject, his fingers unconsciously tightening on the steering wheel, “he is, after all, the FBI, representing foreign law enforcement. He operates openly in Japan without permission, so his code of conduct and priorities are bound to be different from ours.”
To be honest, the reputation of the CIA and FBI in other countries isn't much better than that of terrorist organizations, and they've done their fair share of things like instigating wars. When they're on missions in other countries, can we really expect them to prioritize the safety of local civilians?
He still had some trust in Akai, whom he had met for a period of time, but he was very skeptical of the FBI as a whole.
"Their involvement could very well disrupt the long-standing plans and deployments of the public security authorities."
Rei Furuya is unhappy. If he's an FBI agent, he should just go back to his own country!
But he also knew that the organization's influence extended far beyond one country, and that the police alone could not wipe out the entire organization. If the root of the problem wasn't eliminated, the organization would soon rise from the ashes.
Ultimately, all countries will have to cooperate, and the FBI representative will most likely be the leader of the squad that Shuichi Akai belongs to.
Forget it, Akai's character is more reliable than those unknown FBI agents I've never met.
Rei Furuya's affection for Shuichi Akai fluctuated, but eventually settled on a fairly good level.
How much of this was due to the close relationship between Morofushi Kagemitsu and Akai Shuichi, leading to a general affinity for each other, is unknown.
Now that we know Subaru Okiya is Shuichi Akai, we need to update a lot of information, reassess many potential risks and variables, adjust our plans, and be more cautious in our actions.
Rei Furuya frowned: "The troublesome FBI!"
The green light came on, and the vehicles continued to move forward.
As Nekono Ikuya listened to Furuya Rei's rambling, complex evaluation of Akai Shuichi, his emerald eyes curved into crescents, like they were filled with shimmering starlight. He leaned slightly to the side, resting his elbow on the car window, his chin propped up on his hand, and smiled as he summarized:
"So, you don't dislike Akai, and you actually have a pretty good impression of him."
"Who, who said that!" Furuya Rei retorted instinctively, his voice a beat faster than usual.
I don't know why, but I reflexively refuted it!
She then seemed to realize that her reaction was a bit excessive, so she softened her tone and tried to regain her usual composure, but she didn't dare to look at Nekono Ikuya.
"I'm just giving an objective assessment of his abilities. As for 'good impressions,' it was clearly Jingguang who had good impressions of him, and you..."
He paused, a subtle awkwardness in his tone that he himself didn't even realize: "You... seem to have a pretty good impression of him too."
Nekono Ikuya blinked, his long, curled eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings, and he nodded innocently and honestly: "Yeah, it's not bad."
“After all, Mr. Akai is calm and reliable, and Mr. Okiya is gentle and polite,” he recalled the way Okiya Subaru spoke to him, his tone tinged with amusement, “He can be quite interesting sometimes.”
Rei Furuya tightened his grip on the steering wheel, his purplish-gray eyes fixed on the road ahead, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly as he let out a harsh hum from his nose.
“Really? What a coincidence.” Rei Furuya pursed his lips, glancing at the innocent-looking Ikuya Nekino beside him with his purplish-gray eyes. “He seems to have a good impression of you too. He was smiling at you the whole time in the gallery just now.”
He not only teased Sakura today, but he'd also laughed at Ikumi before. The head of public security became wary; could that despicable FBI agent really be trying to steal him away?!
Nekono Ikumi paused for a moment, then laughed. Zero always unconsciously became childish when she was with him; sometimes it was just too cute.
"What are you laughing at?" Furuya Rei's ears were getting hot, and his tone became even harsher.
“I laughed…” Nekono Ikuya stopped laughing, but the laughter in her eyes was almost overflowing.
He reached out and gently touched Furuya Rei's taut jawline with his fingertips, his voice soft and slow, with a sweet, seductive quality.
"I'm laughing at that big-time police officer and undercover agent. He just praised her a lot, but then he secretly got angry because she glanced at his Miss Sakuragi."
"Oh dear," Nekono Ikuya said with an innocent, mischievous glint in her eyes, "you're not jealous, are you?"
"Who's jealous?" Furuya Rei denied it outright, but his body honestly relaxed a little, letting those cool fingertips linger on his skin.
Look at what Nekono Ikuya said. Is there any connection between the word order? Furuya Rei thought, "In the first part, he said he also praised Akai a lot. Shouldn't the part about why he was sulking in the second half connect to the fact that he deliberately praised Akai?"
He did it on purpose; that naughty cat was deliberately provoking him!
"No?" Nekono Yuuya leaned closer, almost breathing into Furuya Rei's ear, and whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Then...would my Furuya-san like to look at me too? I promise, I'll only look at you."
A warm breath brushed against her ear, carrying a straightforward yet sweet implication in her words.
Rei Furuya was aroused.
He took a deep breath, sharply turned the steering wheel, and the white Mazda RX-7 smoothly turned into a relatively quiet side road, finding a temporary parking space and stopping steadily.
The moment the car came to a complete stop, he unbuckled his seatbelt, turned to the side, and leaned forward, one hand gripping the back of the passenger seat. His purplish-gray eyes appeared exceptionally deep in the dim light of the car interior, firmly locking onto his pair of bright green cat-like eyes brimming with laughter.
"You said it yourself." His voice lowered, becoming dangerously magnetic.
Instead of dodging, Nekono Ikumi tilted her head slightly to meet his gaze, her mischievousness turning into undisguised expectation and indulgence: "Yes, I said it."
So what are you going to do? Nekono Ikuya's eyes lit up: (Excited.jpg)
The next second, Furuya Rei leaned down, his lips covering hers with undeniable warmth and force.
The kiss was not gentle; it carried a kind of eagerness after being provoked, as well as a domineering and possessive desire to assert dominance.
Rei Furuya gripped the back of Ikuya Nekono's neck with his hand, preventing him from retreating even an inch, while his other hand braced against the side of the seat, trapping him in a small space.
The intertwining of lips and tongues is a fierce conquest, with undeniable force, as if trying to imprint one's own breath deep into every inch of the other's skin.
Nekono Ikumi obediently opened her lips to accept, even actively responding, her fingertips unconsciously clenching the fabric of Furuya Rei's chest, crumpling the smooth shirt into fine wrinkles.
This response undoubtedly ignited Furuya Rei's passion even more, and the kiss became deeper and more intense, as if trying to melt away all the subtle emotions within it.
Inside the cramped car, the air heated up rapidly, leaving only the sounds of rapid, intertwined breathing and the wet, ambiguous sounds of water between lips and teeth.
Occasionally, car headlights would flash past the window, casting fleeting shadows on the two figures pressed together, outlining a secret yet intense silhouette in the interplay of light and shadow.
After an unknown amount of time, Furuya Rei finally stepped back slightly, his forehead pressed against Nekono Ikuya's, his breathing somewhat rapid, his purplish-gray eyes churning with an unquenchable undercurrent of anger, and a hint of triumphant satisfaction.
He slowly sat back in the driver's seat, fastened his seatbelt again, and started the car.
The white Mazda RX-7 smoothly glided into the traffic of the night once again, but the atmosphere inside the car was completely different, with a lingering warmth that seemed to linger for a long time.
Nekono Ikumi's lips were even redder than before, her emerald green eyes glistened with moisture, and the corners of her eyes were tinged with a captivating blush.
He looked at his lover, who was so close to him, took a soft breath, and then—
She stuck out her tongue and gently licked her lips, which still felt tingly. A hint of lingering satisfaction flashed in her blue eyes, and then she sighed with feigned disappointment.
"Mmm," Nekono Ikuya drawled, her voice softer than before, with a hint of hoarseness from the kiss, like a kitten's claws scratching at one's heart, "was it just a kiss?"
Rei Furuya's fingers twitched slightly on the steering wheel, and he glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, raising an eyebrow dangerously: "Otherwise what? What else does Miss Okuori want? In the car?"
His tone was teasing, but his purplish-gray eyes clearly said, "Try saying that again."
Nekono Ikuya immediately understood Furuya Rei's look and knew when to stop.
He curved his eyes into a smile, lazily leaning back in his chair, his fingertips twirling a strand of his black hair. His voice regained some of its crispness, yet still held a hint of something more.
"No, I was just admiring Mr. Furuya's self-control."
That doesn't sound like a compliment.
Rei Furuya glanced at him, chuckled, and didn't reply. He simply pressed harder on the accelerator, driving the car faster towards its destination: Ms. Okumori's apartment.
The car came to a stop in front of the apartment building. The lingering warmth inside the car had not completely dissipated. Nekono Ikuya unbuckled her seatbelt and was about to push open the door to get out.
"Alright, that's all for now, Sakuratori."
With one hand on the steering wheel, Furuya turned his head and spoke with his impeccable gentlemanly smile. His purplish-gray eyes appeared deep and calm in the dim light, as if the predatory kiss in the car had never happened.
His eyes clearly said, "It would be impolite to follow him any further," displaying the utmost gentlemanly manners.

Nekono Ikuya: "?"
He looked at Rei Furuya, who seemed to be saying, "I did it on purpose." Fine, fine, you're doing this?!
