Chapter 422 Winter Camp

Pei Yunduo received the notification for the school's winter camp, and a surge of excitement welled up inside her. A week would be enough for her to escape the daily pressures of studying, experience new things, and make new friends. She knew this was a rare opportunity to broaden her horizons and increase her knowledge outside of her studies.

Pei Yunduo's parents gave her their full support after hearing the news. They believed that such activities would greatly benefit their daughter's growth, helping her learn independence, enhance teamwork skills, and provide a good opportunity to develop self-management abilities.

Pei Yunduo began preparing for the winter camp. She carefully read the activity booklet and made a list of items she needed to bring. She excitedly selected clothes and prepared various necessities, while also planning in her mind the activities she wanted to try at the winter camp.

On the first day of winter camp, Pei Yunduo, carrying her luggage, took the school bus to the camp with her classmates. Along the way, everyone laughed and chatted, full of anticipation for the adventure that was about to begin. Upon arrival at the camp, Pei Yunduo was assigned to a cozy little cabin, where she would share a room with several girls of different personalities.

During the winter camp, Pei Yunduo participated in a variety of exciting activities. She challenged herself by trying rock climbing and hiking, experiencing outdoor survival skills, and even participating in a nighttime stargazing activity. Through these activities, she not only learned a lot of new knowledge but also honed her courage and perseverance.

Every night, Pei Yunduo would record her experiences and feelings of the day in her diary. She wrote: "The winter camp showed me another side of myself. I realized that I am much braver than I imagined. Here, I learned to be independent and how to get along with different people."

On the last day of winter camp, the school organized a bonfire party. Pei Yunduo and her classmates sat around the bonfire, sharing the fun and gains of the week. Watching the flames leap, she was filled with emotion. This week, she had not only gained friendships, but also grown as a person.

Pei Yunduo's heart raced. She stared at the message on her phone screen, feeling both surprised and nervous. The boy's words were simple, yet they stirred complex emotions within her. She knew this conversation might change their relationship, and it might also disrupt her recently calmed state of mind. She took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. Quickly tidying her appearance, she walked towards the large tree.

A chill hung in the winter night air. Pei Yunduo pulled her coat tighter around herself, her steps involuntarily leading her towards the large tree. Her heart was filled with questions. What did that boy want to tell her? Was it about their relationship, or something else entirely? When she reached the tree, she saw the boy standing beneath it, the streetlight casting a warm glow around him. He saw her and smiled, waving. Pei Yunduo approached, her heart pounding, but she tried to remain calm. "Hi, what can I do for you?" Her voice trembled slightly, but she tried to sound composed.

The boy looked at her, a serious expression in his eyes. "Yun Duo, I just want to talk to you. Lately, I feel there's been a change between us, and I want to know your thoughts." Pei Yun Duo was silent for a moment; she knew this was an important moment. She looked up at him, her eyes shining with determination. "I also cherish our friendship, but I know we're still young and have many important things to do. I hope to focus on my goals and dreams." The boy nodded; he seemed to understand her meaning. "I respect your decision, Yun Duo. I just don't want our friendship to become awkward because of a misunderstanding."

Pei Yunduo smiled, but a bitter feeling welled up inside her. "We won't. We can continue our friendship, learn and grow together."

The boy stood under the big tree, watching Pei Yunduo's figure gradually disappear into the night. His expression was calm, like a statue, but beneath that calm exterior, his heart was churning with turmoil. His feelings were complex, a mixture of respect for Pei Yunduo's decision and regret for not being able to continue their relationship. He knew that Pei Yunduo's words were well-considered, that her decision stemmed from consideration for the future and a clear understanding of reality. He respected her choice, even if it meant he had to suppress his own emotions and silently bear this disappointment.

The boy took a deep breath of the crisp night air, trying to calm himself. He told himself that time healed everything, and he would gradually adapt to this new reality. He would bury this feeling deep in his heart, transforming it into motivation to pursue his goals and dreams. He turned and slowly walked back to his path. Though his steps were heavy, his back was ramrod straight. He knew that everyone encounters challenges and difficulties on their path to growth; it's a part of life. He would learn from this experience and become more mature and resilient.

Night deepened, and the boy returned to his room. He didn't immediately turn on the light, but sat quietly by the window, gazing at the starry sky. He silently wished Pei Yunduo well, hoping she could realize her dreams and live the life she desired. At the same time, he also made a wish in his heart: that he too could find his own happiness in the future. This night was a formative experience for the boy, a spiritual cleansing. He knew that from now on, he needed to face life more independently and pursue his dreams more bravely. And this past relationship would become a part of his youthful memories, reminding him of the beauty of the past and inspiring him to keep moving forward.
