Chapter 156 Shock 2

After chatting with her two granddaughters for a while, Han Yulan slowly said, "My darlings, your grandpa will soon be transferred back to Beijing for work! When that time comes, our family will be able to live together. Aren't you happy?"

Upon hearing the good news, Gu Yunxi and her sister immediately became excited and danced with joy, eagerly asking their grandmother, "When will Grandpa be able to be transferred back?" Their expectant tone revealed their deep longing for their grandparents.

Xia Liang was equally overjoyed that her in-laws were about to be transferred back to the capital. This meant more family members would help care for the child, giving her much more peace of mind. After all, yesterday's terrifying ordeal was still fresh in her mind. Thinking back to what happened yesterday, a surge of anger rose within Xia Liang. She would not let those who dared to harm her child get away with it easily. Since they dared to make a move, she wouldn't hesitate to take ruthless action and eliminate them completely.

After spending a few warm days with her children, Xia Liang saw that her youngest daughter had returned to her usual lively and adorable self. The weight on her heart finally lifted, and she could throw herself back into her work with peace of mind.

Upon arriving at the factory, Xia Liang's first action was to find Ji Xiao and tell him about Aunt Qi's situation. She simply couldn't bear the thought of encountering them again in the alley. Fortunately, she had three loyal dogs with her that day; if the two children had gone out alone, the consequences would have been unimaginable, and just thinking about it made Xia Liang furious.

Ji Xiao was equally furious; after all, those were his good brother's daughters! He had always adored those two adorable, sensible, and polite children. When he learned that Yuanzhi had been hospitalized with a fever due to the shock, he declared without hesitation that he would make the Qi family pay the price they deserved.

Sure enough, in the days that followed, Xia Liang never encountered anyone from the Qi family again. It was likely that Ji Xiao had taken some measures, but whatever the reason, it was a good thing for Xia Liang. She hoped that such a thing would never happen again, and wished that every child could grow up healthy and happy in a safe environment.

Time flies, and it's back-to-school time again. The youngest daughter, Gu Yuanzhi, has successfully entered second grade, becoming a lovely elementary school student; while the eldest daughter has entered the first year of junior high school, beginning a new chapter in her academic life. The current school system is still a five-year elementary school system, so the children will graduate directly after completing fifth grade. That day, Xia Liang first took her youngest daughter to school to register her eldest daughter.

As Xia Liang entered the classroom, she immediately spotted Ning Mei, whom she hadn't seen in a long time. She was somewhat surprised, as Ning Mei seemed slightly different from the one she remembered. Ning Mei had always given off an impression of refinement and gentleness, but now she appeared somewhat weathered, as if she had aged several years in an instant.

Before Xia Liang could even greet her, Ning Mei took the initiative to approach her: "Comrade Xia Liang, it's been a long time!" Xia Liang politely replied, "Indeed, it's been a long time." Ning Mei had previously expressed a desire to become friends with Xia Liang, and Xia Liang had only reluctantly agreed because her daughter and Ning Mei were classmates. In reality, she knew very well that she and Ning Mei were not on the same path.

The two hadn't seen each other for several months, and she had even thought that he had just said it casually and hadn't taken it to heart at all. She hadn't expected him to be so enthusiastic now. Perhaps sensing the doubt in Xia Liang's eyes, Ning Mei explained apologetically, "I originally planned to come and visit you during the holidays, but some things suddenly happened at home, and I really couldn't find the time." Xia Liang quickly waved her hand, indicating, "It's alright, after all, things at home are more important."

Hearing Xia Liang say this, Ning Mei became extremely excited and asked, "Then can I come with you to the store for a visit? I've always been very curious about your business model. Can I learn from it?" Ning Mei then sighed, "Sigh, I've never had a proper job in my life. I really envy people like you who have their own businesses!" Xia Liang nodded helplessly, secretly thinking to herself that her eldest daughter and Lu Jingang were in the same class in junior high school. Judging from this situation, she would probably have to continue to be bothered by her for the next few years.

After making sure her eldest daughter was settled, Xia Liang prepared to take her younger daughter to register for school. At this point, Ning Mei said she wanted to go too. Xia Liang didn't say much and acquiesced. Upon arriving at her younger daughter's school, she found the classroom and teachers were the same as in first grade. Since her eldest daughter had attended this school before, Xia Liang hadn't been worried, but now that her younger daughter was alone, especially after what had happened before, she couldn't help but feel concerned. She couldn't help but remind her, "If anyone bullies you, you must tell Mommy immediately, understand?" The little girl nodded obediently, "I know, Mommy." Xia Liang gently patted her head, "Then Mommy will go now. You must study hard at school." Seeing her younger daughter so well-behaved and adorable, Xia Liang felt much relieved.

Looking at Ning Mei, who was sticking close to her, Xia Liang felt a little helpless. She really wasn't used to being so close to someone she didn't know well. Originally, she had planned to go to the store to check the accounts, something she should have done long ago, but it had been delayed because of her youngest daughter's matter. Since Ning Mei wanted to come along, she would let her.

Upon arriving at the store, Xia Liang warmly invited Ning Mei to sit down and, as usual, asked the staff to bring out the sales records and ledgers. After handing the ledgers to Xia Liang, the staff thoughtfully poured them both a glass of water before turning to attend to other customers.

Ning Mei watched intently as Xia Liang rapidly checked the accounts, secretly admiring her skill. At the same time, she made a silent decision: she would discuss this with her husband when she got home.

After Xia Liang finished the calculations and confirmed that there were no problems, she took Ning Mei to the next shop. At each shop, Ning Mei was attracted by the large number of customers and couldn't help but exclaim, "The business of each of your shops is amazing!" Xia Liang smiled modestly and replied, "It's alright."

After visiting the last store, Xia Liang glanced at her watch and realized it was time for the children to get out of school. She asked Ning Mei, who was also going to pick up her child, so Xia Liang drove directly to the school gate.
