Chapter 212 Playing 2

During their leisurely stroll, He Siyan and Gu Yunxi discovered a newly opened mala tang (spicy hot pot) restaurant. The restaurant's decor was novel and unique, and through the glass windows, they could see the lively dining scene inside, with the enticing aromas making their mouths water.

Gu Yunxi turned to He Siyan and said, "Siyan, how about we try this newly opened mala tang place? I heard it's really good."

He Siyan nodded in agreement and replied with a smile, "Sure, I was just thinking of eating something else too. Mala Tang is a good choice."

As the two entered the store, they were immediately enveloped by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The store's decor was simple yet distinctive, with interesting decorative paintings hanging on the walls, and the tables and chairs were clean and tidy. They found a seat and sat down, and a waiter quickly came over with menus.

Gu Yunxi and He Siyan studied the various ingredients and seasonings on the menu, discussing their preferred flavors. They ordered a lot of fresh vegetables, meats, and bean products, and specifically requested a mildly spicy soup base to suit their tastes.

When the hot and spicy broth was served, its fragrant aroma filled the air. The two couldn't wait to taste it, and Gu Yunxi exclaimed as she ate, "Mmm, this broth is really fragrant, and the ingredients are very fresh."

He Siyan nodded in approval: "It's really good, just the right amount of spiciness, very appetizing."

They enjoyed their delicious spicy hot pot while chatting and sharing their daily stories and feelings. The relaxed and pleasant dining atmosphere, coupled with their enjoyable conversation, made this simple dinner exceptionally meaningful.

Inside the mala tang restaurant, He Siyan and Gu Yunxi were enjoying a delicious dinner when they overheard a conversation between the owner and a staff member. The owner's voice carried a hint of self-deprecation, but also revealed a sense of relief and pride.

The owner said, "I went to the countryside before, and when I came back, they said they would arrange a job for me, but I don't know when I'll be able to find one. I couldn't wait any longer, so I opened my own shop." His words revealed a sense of helplessness in the face of reality, but more so a firm belief and optimism in starting his own business.

Gu Yunxi admired the boss's courage and determination. She whispered to He Siyan, "The owner of this store is quite bold. He doesn't wait for others to help him and starts his own business."

He Siyan nodded in agreement, and replied while eating, "Yes, it's hard work to run your own shop, but being able to do what you love is also a kind of happiness."

The two expressed their respect for the owner's entrepreneurial spirit and also reflected on their own attitudes towards life. While enjoying the delicious food, they also felt the authenticity and richness of life.

After enjoying a delicious meal at the mala tang restaurant, He Siyan and Gu Yunxi were both in high spirits. They decided to continue their weekend date, go out for a stroll, and enjoy more leisure time.

They strolled through the city streets, weaving through the bustling crowds and feeling the city's vibrancy. The shops lining both sides of the street were dazzling, and they would stop every now and then to look at the goods in the shop windows or explore some interesting little shops.

As time passed, the two felt a little tired and decided to go see a movie. They chose a currently showing film, bought popcorn and drinks, and found seats in the theater. The movie's plot was captivating, and the two watched with great interest, completely immersed in the film's world.

After the movie ended, they followed the crowd out of the cinema. Night had fallen, and the streetlights and neon lights shimmered with a warm glow. Gu Yunxi sighed, "Today was really great. Time spent with you is always so pleasant."

He Siyan smiled and replied, "Yes, I feel the same way. I hope we can have many more days like this in the future."

The two walked and talked, sharing their thoughts and feelings about the film, as well as their hopes for the future. Eventually, they arrived near Gu Yunxi's house, and He Siyan escorted her to her doorstep.

As they parted, He Siyan said softly, "Yunxi, today was a wonderful time with you. Get some rest, and we'll see you tomorrow."

Gu Yunxi nodded, a satisfied smile on her face: "Okay, Siyan, thank you for today, see you tomorrow."

The two waved goodbye. He Siyan watched Gu Yunxi enter her home before turning away and heading home. They had created many wonderful memories together that day, memories that would become precious treasures in their hearts.

As soon as Gu Yunxi returned home, she couldn't hide the smile on her face. She had just had a pleasant afternoon and evening, and the sweet time with He Siyan had made her feel exceptionally happy. However, when she walked into the living room and saw her parents, grandparents, and younger sister gathered there, engrossed in a television program, she quickly suppressed her smile and pretended to be nonchalant.

She tiptoed into the living room and greeted her family gently, "Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma, Sister, I'm home." Her voice carried a hint of ease and joy, but she tried her best to remain calm, not wanting her family to notice her excitement.

Gu Yanxiao and Xia Liang looked up at their daughter, nodded to her, and replied, "Yunxi, you're back. How was your day?" Their tone revealed their care and love for their daughter.

Han Yulan and Gu Weiguo also turned their heads, smiling at their granddaughter with warm and kind eyes.

Gu Yuanzhi looked at her sister curiously, as if trying to find some clues from her expression: "Sister, did you have fun with Sister Qian and the others today?" Her tone was a little mischievous and curious.

Gu Yunxi smiled slightly and replied, "I'm very happy. We went to a newly opened mala tang restaurant and also watched a movie." She tried her best to make her tone sound normal, but the light in her eyes still revealed her true feelings.

Gu Yunxi apologized to her younger sister in her heart, "It's not that I wanted to lie to you, it's just that the time wasn't right!"

After chatting casually with her family in the living room for a while, Gu Yunxi felt tired from the day and said goodnight to them. She said softly, "Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma, Sister, I'm going upstairs to rest. Goodnight everyone." Her voice revealed a hint of weariness, but it was also full of warmth and contentment.
