Chapter 455 Returning to the Previous Life 2

Xia Liang lay in bed, half-asleep, when she seemed to hear a familiar yet distant voice calling out, "Liangliang, get up and eat breakfast, you'll be late for school." The voice was gentle and kind, with a hint of urgency, as if it had traveled from the distant past. Xia Liang's heart skipped a beat, and tears welled up in her eyes. She wondered if she was dreaming, or perhaps she had already passed away to hear her grandmother's voice again.

She slowly opened her eyes, looked around, and found everything was normal. She was still lying in her familiar bedroom, sunlight streaming through the curtains onto the bedside, and a faint floral scent filled the room. She rubbed her eyes, trying to fully wake herself from the dream. But that voice, that call, lingered in her heart, making it difficult for her to calm down.

Xia Liang sat up, her grandmother's kind face appearing in her mind, her repeated admonitions, and the scenes from the past flooding back like a tide. She remembered that when she was little, her grandmother would always get up early to prepare a hot breakfast for her, and then stand in the yard, calling out to her room, "Liangliang, get up and eat breakfast, you'll be late for school." Back then, she would always stay in bed and not want to get up, but hearing her grandmother's voice would fill her with energy again, and she would quickly get dressed, wash up, and rush to the dining table.

Now, her grandmother has been gone for many years, but those calls still seem to echo in her ears. A warm current welled up in Xia Liang's heart, mixed with a faint sadness. She knew that this was perhaps her deep longing for her grandmother, her nostalgia for that carefree childhood, awakened in this way on a certain morning.

Xia Liang was filled with doubt and surprise. She rubbed her eyes and carefully examined her grandmother. Her grandmother's face was still kind, and although time had left faint marks on her face, her eyes were still bright and full of love. Xia Liang looked around and found herself lying on that familiar old wooden bed. Her childhood toys and photos were placed beside the bed, and a group photo of her and her family hung on the wall. Everything seemed so real and dear.

A warm feeling welled up in her heart, filled with longing and gratitude for her grandmother. She knew she hadn't died, but had returned to the past, to that loving and warm childhood. She hugged her grandmother tightly, tears streaming down her face. "Grandma, I missed you so much."

Grandma gently stroked Xia Liang's hair and said tenderly, "Silly child, why are you crying? Get up and eat breakfast, you'll be late for school." Her voice was still so familiar, filled with a touch of doting and concern.

Xia Liang nodded, her heart filled with happiness and emotion. She knew this was a rare opportunity for her to relive that beautiful time and feel her grandmother's love once more. She quickly dressed and washed up, then went to the dining table with her grandmother.

At the dining table, Grandma had already prepared a steaming hot breakfast for her, including her favorite fried eggs, soy milk, and fried dough sticks. Xia Liang wolfed down her food, as if she had returned to her carefree childhood. Grandma watched her with a smile, her eyes full of affection.

After finishing breakfast, Xia Liang slung her schoolbag over her shoulder and prepared to go to school. Her grandmother reminded her, "Be careful on the road, and watch out for vehicles when crossing the street." Her words were full of care and concern.

Xia Liang nodded, her heart filled with strength and courage. She knew that her grandmother's love had always been with her, bringing her warmth and strength wherever she went. She smiled and said to her grandmother, "Grandma, I will take good care of myself and study hard to live up to your expectations."

Xia Liang stood at the classroom door, her heart filled with disbelief and awe. She gazed at the familiar classroom before her; the chalk writing on the blackboard was clear, and the room was filled with classmates her age, heads bowed, diligently taking notes or quietly discussing problems. Sunlight streamed through the windows onto the desks, making everything seem so real and vibrant.

In class, the teacher diligently explained the knowledge on the podium, and Xia Liang listened attentively, afraid of missing any detail. She knew that learning was the key to changing her destiny, and she wanted to cherish this second chance, strive to acquire knowledge, and lay a solid foundation for her future.

During breaks, Xia Liang gradually became familiar with her classmates. She discovered that each of them had their own unique characteristics: some were clever and quick-witted, some were lively and cheerful, and some were diligent and hardworking. She took the initiative to communicate with them, sharing her insights and thoughts, and quickly integrated into the group. In her interactions with her classmates, Xia Liang felt a long-lost warmth and joy. They discussed academic problems together, shared interesting stories from their lives, and ran and played together on the playground. Xia Liang realized how precious friendship was, and she wanted to cherish this hard-won bond.
