118? Wilderness Survival

118 Wilderness Survival

◎You may search high and low for something, but it is never found.

Ye Zhizhi went in the direction where the small animals ran away. A place where small animals could make their nests would definitely have no dangerous predators, which was just right for her to wait until Yin Yi came to find her.

She didn't know where the current was taking her. When she was in the water, she felt dizzy and just drifted with the water, remembering not to drown.

When she was washed very far away, she could not help but surface for a moment. The completely unfamiliar waters were very vast, and there was no giant eagle above her. But in order to avoid being detected by the eagle, she took a breath, dived into the water again, and floated down with the water.

Fortunately, there were no dangerous aquatic animals in this water source. She was left with only instinct. She seemed to have entered several branches and was finally led to the river bank deep in the canyon. She instinctively climbed ashore.

The waters of this canyon pass through a huge cave. The arched terrain above blocks the light, making it appear a little dim. The waters turn right in front, and there is a rocky mountain ahead.

Ye Zhizhi walked forward for a while and suddenly felt enlightened.

Golden sunlight poured down the winding canyon, its rays slanting slightly as they fell on the rock faces, creating fleeting shadows. Clusters of green plants bathed in the sunlight, brimming with vibrant life.

The blinding light made Ye Zhizhi close her eyes, her head spinning. She felt even more dizzy, her forehead aching. Unfortunately, the medicine powder she had brought with her had been soaked. The rest was in her bag, and she had to reunite with the wolf pack before she could apply the medicine.

Ye Zhizhi stood for a moment, adjusting to the light. After he had recovered, he opened his eyes and sniffed the air.

Very rare, this place did not have the rotten and turbid smell that she often smelled, but the freshness of soil mixed with plants, which was very comfortable to smell.

She carefully identified the smell of the plants and her eyes roamed around, trying to find plants with anti-inflammatory and swelling-reducing effects.

Ye Zhizhi didn't sense any danger in the canyon, so he walked in and observed it carefully.

This canyon is covered with rocks, with climbing plants forming walls on both sides and occasional ancient trees growing across it.

Ye Zhizhi could sense the presence of many small animals nearby. Many of them had their nests nearby, and they seemed to have noticed her, the uninvited guest, and hid themselves.

As she went deeper, the canyon gradually narrowed, and the increasingly lush vines seemed to form a vegetative arch.

But when she passed through the several-meter-long plant gate, what she saw was not the end of the canyon, but a cave towering into the clouds.

On both sides of the cave, there are two huge ancient trees, whose crowns are intertwined on the top, blocking the sky and blocking the prying eyes from above.

And living on these two ancient trees were the squirrels that Ye Zhizhi had seen before.

The squirrel holding a nut at the entrance of a tree hole saw the little predator suddenly appear and thought it was seeking revenge. It was so scared that the nut in its claws fell off the tree and it screamed and crawled into the tree hole. In a blink of an eye, all the squirrels in the tree hid.

Ye Zhizhi had no time to pay attention to them. Her eyes were fixed on the entrance to the cave between the two trees, and her heart was beating rapidly unconsciously.

Ye Zhizhi carefully sensed for a moment and found that there were no dangerous animals in the cave. She was still very cautious. She took out a dagger and stepped into the cave carefully.

Everything in the cave suddenly appeared in her sight. The space was very spacious, the view was wide, and the structure was complex with multiple branch caves.

The cave is very dry and the temperature is kept in a suitable range, neither too hot nor too cold.

Ye Zhizhi continued to go deeper and found that the interior of the cave seemed to have no end. Some areas were larger than two football fields, and some were narrow and winding, like a maze. She even found a natural viewing platform from which she could overlook the entire cave.

She had walked deep into the mountain, following the humidity in the air towards a cave on the right, and discovered a spring.

The area seemed to be "lively" because of the water flow. Strange plants grew on the cave walls and in the cracks of the rocks, and many beautiful flowers bloomed. Occasionally, a few birds flew out from the cracks in the rocks, making a gentle fluttering sound.

This place was like the exit of a cave, with a crack at the upper side, through which one could directly see the blue sky. She couldn't imagine how beautiful it would be when the sunlight shone in from here.

Ye Zhizhi stopped for a moment, his heart filled with indescribable excitement.

This place is countless times larger than the territory's lair. Not to mention twenty wolves, even thirty or forty are more than enough to accommodate them.

They no longer have to worry about there being too many wolves and their dens being too full.

They can even go directly from collective housing to single-room family suites. Although animals have no so-called privacy, who wouldn't be happy to live alone in a spacious cave?

Moreover, the interior of the cave is suitable for wolves to rest separately and is also convenient for defense.

Currently, the only entrance and exit Ye Zhizhi has discovered is the way she came in. Although there are very dangerous predators in this area, they never have to worry about those predators running directly to their nests to attack.

The only predators that would attack her would be predators about the same size as the wolves. She believed that wolves were stronger than any predator of their size.

The giant king at the top couldn't fit into the canyon with his massive body, but she had just calculated that the largest wolf king, the father, should be able to fit in. Even if he couldn't fit in, it didn't matter; she could just dig the narrowest gap wider.

Besides, there are water sources and plants in the cave, so the wolves don’t have to run far out of their territory to drink water.

Ye Zhizhi didn't know why such a suitable cave to live in was not occupied by animals. She guessed that it was because the entrances and exits were too narrow and hidden. Moreover, she noticed that the interior of the cave was mostly made up of huge hard rock layers. Animals living underground had not dug holes here, so there were almost no small animals here.

As for the two sides... On the left side of the entrance was a cliff so high that the top was out of sight. According to her experience, this side was undoubtedly a cliff.

As for the other side... Ye Zhizhi climbed up and took a look, and found that it was a steep cliff.

Compared to the canyon where Ye Zhizhi tracked the giant beast, which was cracked from the middle of the mountain top, this canyon was more like a crack on the edge of the mountain, halfway up the mountain.

The cave is generally located deep in the mountain and is covered by ancient trees and green plants. Perhaps it is because it is too hidden.

Ye Zhizhi was extremely satisfied. This was simply a paradise, and every part of it was just what she wanted.

Even though we didn't find the hot springs, having this spring water was just as good! Wolves weren't particularly fond of hot springs anyway. Furry animals don't particularly like water or wet fur.

The cave is so big that even in the rainy season and winter, the wolves can run freely in it instead of having to live in a small den.

Ye Zhizhi could already imagine how happy the wolves would be surviving in this new territory.

Ye Zhizhi jumped with excitement - a little dizzy, she quickly stood up, with only small movements, but her mouth was wide open, her eyes curved with laughter.

It is really true that after searching for a needle in a haystack, it was finally found without any effort!

Next, she just needed to decide whether this place was suitable for long-term residence.

Ye Zhizhi thought of the increasingly crowded nests and the barren territory where they had to rely on large-scale breeding to fill their stomachs, and he became more determined to relocate the wolf pack.
