Everyone looked at the speaker and were taken aback. No one expected that it was Shen Bochun who said those words.
The Empress is from the Shen family, and the Crown Prince is practically the Shen family's grandson. If he were to successfully inherit the throne, the Shen family would rise to great heights. Now everyone is silent, and the one who dares to question him is Shen Bochun, which is truly baffling.
"What, Lord Shen, are you questioning the authenticity of the imperial edict?"
Shen Mingzhuang remained expressionless and asked a question indifferently.
"It is impossible not to have doubts. This old minister has only one thing to say: let Your Majesty come out and see this memorial to prove that it was written by Your Majesty yourself and that it reflects Your Majesty's wishes."
Shen Bochun, with an air of utter indifference, adopted the demeanor of a civil official and spoke in a drawn-out voice.
Even though it was all pre-planned, Shen Mingzhuang couldn't help but sigh that Shen Bochun was such a convincing actor; it really was quite convincing.
"presumptuous!"
She rebuked in a deep voice, slightly raised her eyelids, and her cold gaze slowly swept over everyone before finally landing on Shen Bochun.
"Can imperial edicts, the imperial seal, and His Majesty's handwriting all be forged? Lord Shen, although I am also from the Shen family, if the Shen family shows such disrespect to the imperial family, I will not be lenient with them."
"Guards, take Lord Shen away!"
At the end, his voice suddenly rose, penetrating deeply into the ears of every court official.
Shen Bochun struggled, shouting his disbelief as he was dragged away in the manner of a scholar. Shen Mingzhuang remained seated, quietly watching Shen Bochun being dragged out, and then slowly swept his gaze over everyone once more.
Now that things have come to this, no one dares to voice any opposition. Her Majesty the Empress has already dealt with the Shen family, so why would she care about them?
"Do any of you ministers have any further objections?"
Shen Mingzhuang looked at everyone with a smile, giving off an air of "you can say whatever you want, but it won't do you any good." The ministers lowered their eyelids and shook their heads to indicate that they had no objections.
With the matter concluded, Shen Mingzhuang leaned back in his chair with a smile and began to give instructions for the memorial to the emperor.
