Chapter 314 First Meeting

"You want to come with us?"

Guaranteeing that Wang Laonian and his wife would arrive soon, Gu An'an and the other two prepared to go to the station to pick them up. However, as soon as they stepped out of the guesthouse, they saw Xu Nian and Xu Wan waiting at the door.

Xu Nian originally intended to wait at home for Wang Laonian and his wife, but perhaps the village chief's wife's constant nagging these past two days had an effect, making him think about this matter all the time.

Xu Wan noticed his anxiety and encouraged him to come and pick up the person.

Then he came.

"Can we go together?"

"Yes, of course!"

The village chief's wife pulled the two away, feeling even happier for Wang Laonian and his wife, for this was proof that the child was getting closer to them.

When they arrived at the train station, the train was delayed. Xu Nian stood at the entrance, watching the people coming and going, his palms sweating involuntarily.

"Brother, don't be nervous."

Xu Wan noticed his unusual behavior and tried to comfort him, but she didn't realize that her palms were just as sweaty as Xu Nian's.

"Old Nian, Qiao Mei, over here!"

Just as they were eagerly waiting, the figures of Wang Laonian and his wife finally came into view.

Xu Nian unconsciously tightened his grip on Xu Wan's hand, causing Xu Wan to wince in pain, but she didn't make a sound.

Wang Laonian and his wife, along with Wang Dashan, spotted them immediately, and of course, they didn't overlook Xu Nian and his sister either.

At that moment, the couple practically ran, cutting through the crowd at top speed, and stopped less than a meter away from Xu Nian.

"Dog Egg, you are my Dog Egg."

Looking at that face that resembled his wife so much, I, Lao Nian, thought to myself, even if the King of Heaven himself came, this would still be his child.

Qiaomei kept silently shedding tears, her whole body began to tremble, and although she reached out her hand several times, she still didn't dare to actually hug him.

She was afraid that it was all fake, all her imagination, all a dream.

They were also afraid that hugging the other person directly would displease Xu Nian, and he might refuse to acknowledge them then.

Looking at the couple in front of him, who were weeping uncontrollably, Xu Nian's heart was moved, and he slowly raised his hand.

His small gesture gave Wang Laonian and his wife tremendous encouragement, and the two could no longer contain themselves and gave Xu Nian a bear hug.

"Ah! My dog! My child! I'm so sorry, it's all my fault for making you suffer."

"Ah! My dog! Those damned things, why did they have to take you away?"

Seeing that her son was clearly seventeen or eighteen years old, but looked like he was thirteen or fourteen, she felt as if her heart was being torn apart.

If the child hadn't been lost, if the child had grown up with them all along, they would never have let the child end up like this, no matter how hard or tiring it was.

Wang Laonian was rather reserved, but if you looked closely, you could see that although he didn't cry out loud, he was silently shedding tears, and his eyes were full of love as he looked at his son.

Such a combination is quite eye-catching at the train station.

Feeling the curious gazes coming from all directions, Xu Nian reached out and patted Qiao Mei on the back, "Don't cry."

Seeing that a traffic jam was about to occur, the village chief's wife quickly spoke up, "Qiaomei, stop crying, let's go somewhere else."

After saying it several times, Qiaomei's tears gradually stopped. She walked with them towards the jeep, but she didn't dare to let go of Xu Lian's hand for a moment, as if if she let go for even a second, Xu Nian would disappear from her sight again, just like before.

Seeing this scene, Xu Wan could feel the love these people had for her brother, and the heavy weight in her heart gradually lifted.

It's so nice to have someone who loves his brother so much.

As for her, she didn't really care. Although her brother always talked about how kind their father had been to him and kept it in his heart, she actually wanted to say that if it weren't for her brother, she would have died many times over.

In terms of gratitude, the debts have long since been repaid.

Although she had already thought it through in her mind, she was still just a little girl of a few years old. Looking at her brother surrounded by their parents, she felt happy but also a little lost and scared.

But just then, her hand was held tightly by someone, and it wasn't her brother's hand.

Looking up at the owner of the hand, she saw a smiling face streaked with tears.

"Your name is Wanwan, right? I'm your mother, you can call me Wang Mama."

Since receiving the phone call and hearing about her son's experiences over the years, Qiaomei has been extremely grateful to the Xu couple, whom she has never met. She feels even more pity for their only daughter and has long decided that she will take both children back with her if they are willing.

Mother?

Xu Wan had never called her mother since she could remember, and she didn't know what it felt like to have a mother. But when she looked into Qiao Mei's concerned eyes, Xu Wan admitted that she was moved. She longed for maternal love and wanted to see what it was like to have parents protecting her.

In an instant, Xu Wan smiled sweetly at Qiao Mei and took her hand as they got into the car.

As the car drove towards the guesthouse, Mr. and Mrs. Wang kept asking the siblings how they had been doing all these years. Whenever they heard that the two had been bullied by Uncle Xu's family, they couldn't help but burst into tears, which eventually made Xu Nian and Xu Wan afraid to say anything more.

"Hey, why are you crying! Isn't it a good thing that the kids have been found? You two can just treat them well from now on."

"Sister-in-law, I... I'm just so excited." And also heartbroken.

"I know, but you should be careful, otherwise the child won't dare to tell you anymore."

Qiaomei looked at the two siblings and saw the worried look in their eyes. She wiped away her tears and said, "Okay, I won't cry."

Then they began to introduce Xiaowang Village as it is now, and the couple's current life.

“Your dad and I have saved up some money over the past year or so. We were planning to save up a little more money before we came out to look for you, but we didn’t expect your sister-in-law to find you first.”

“We don’t know what you’re thinking, whether you want to stay in the city or come back with us, but whatever your choice, as long as you’re happy, we’ll support you.”

Actually, she was being somewhat insincere in saying this. She desperately wanted Xu Nian to go home with them, and she only felt at ease when he was right under their noses.

But her children have lived in the city for so many years, and she is always afraid that forcing them to go back will upset them and push them further and further away.

All I can say is that the more you love someone, the more cautious you become.

"Aunt Wang, don't you want my brother to go back?"

Having lacked love for so many years, Xu Wan is always more sensitive than others.

"No, I really want you to come home with me, but I'm afraid you won't be used to staying in the village."

What Qiaomei didn't notice was that Xu Nian's tightly gripped hand slowly loosened, and the expression on his face gradually relaxed.

"I hope someone can protect my brother properly."

Xu Wan's innocent voice rang out in the carriage, "Aunt Wang, can you promise me that you won't bully my brother anymore, and that you'll love him properly, okay?"
