Chapter 7 The Loyal Minister Training Plan

Zhu Youjian was deeply shaken.

"Master Gao, is this...is this real?"

Although he couldn't see anything, Gao Qingyun could still guess the expression on Zhu Youjian's face.

He nodded.

"Xiao Zhu, isn't it obvious?"

"Think about it. According to you, that old scoundrel in your village is a habitual sycophant."

"Could he really make such an obvious mistake?"

"On the other hand, he definitely did it on purpose!"

Zhu Youjian was just young and lacked experience as an emperor, but he was not stupid.

He quickly realized what was going on.

So he bowed respectfully to Gao Qingyun, cupped his hands, and said sincerely:

"Master Gao, thank you so much for reminding me."

"Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll repeat the mistakes of the late emperor... cough cough, the old village chief."

After he finished speaking, Zhu Youjian asked:

"Master Gao, is there anything else you need here?"

"I will grant you whatever I can afford."

Upon hearing this, Gao Qingyun became slightly excited.

At that moment, he wasn't thinking about anything else; all he wanted to do was quickly teach one hundred students.

Then get your eyes treated.

So he began:

"Little Zhu, even though I can't see, my teaching skills are still there."

"Take me to the school in our village now, and let me teach the students."

Zhu Youjian nodded.

He naturally believed that.

Didn't you see how Gao Qingyun exposed Wei Zhongxian's little scheme with his words?

He thought to himself:

“Master Gao is from hundreds of years in the future; he knows a great deal.”

"Just asking around a little bit will reveal a huge fortune."

“But I am, after all, the emperor, and I cannot always be by his side.”

"Why not send a few reliable children over here, and have Master Gao teach them while we try to get some information from him about what happened in later generations?"

Zhu Youjian fell into deep thought.

Gao Qingyun grew anxious as he couldn't hear Zhu Youjian speak.

"Little Zhu, do you disagree?"

That's discrimination!

Upon hearing this, Zhu Youjian realized that Gao Qingyun hadn't seen him nod just now.

Therefore, they do not know their own attitude.

So he quickly said:

"Master Gao, don't worry, I'd love to do this."

"But... there probably aren't many children in our village!"

Zhu Youjian's idea was naturally that he didn't want too many people to know about Gao Qingyun's existence.

Gao Qingyun, however, had no doubts.

"That's true, since many people don't have children these days."

"People in your village just want to have more children, but all the young people have gone to the city."

"If there are no women of childbearing age in the village, then even if someone wants to have a child, it's like a skilled cook trying to cook without rice."

Zhu Youjian frowned slightly, feeling that there was something wrong with what Gao Qingyun said.

"According to Master Gao, the lives of ordinary people in later generations are much more comfortable than those of me, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty."

"How could I not love having children?"

But he didn't dare to ask any questions, for fear that Gao Qingyun would find out something was amiss.

He said with a smile:

“Master Gao is right. Please wait a few days, and I will go and do a survey to see how many suitable children there are in the village.”

"I'll also send someone to repair the classroom while I'm at it."

"Please be patient and wait patiently these next few days."

After speaking, Zhu Youjian walked out, a hesitant look on his face.

"Master Gao's teaching and nurturing skills are definitely not bad."

"Otherwise, they wouldn't have been sent by their court to do something like... teach in rural areas."

In Zhu Youjian's view, Gao Qingyun was eloquent and could readily cite historical allusions.

Even hundreds of years from now, they will be considered rare talents.

"It would be such a waste if I just sent a few eunuchs over there and had Master Gao teach them."

"But finding a child from outside isn't necessarily reliable!"

Zhu Youjian was in a dilemma.

He couldn't help but start spinning in circles.

At this moment, Wang Chengen walked over again.

"Your Majesty, this matter is not difficult."

Zhu Youjian's eyes lit up.

Do you have any good suggestions?

Wang Chengen smiled and spoke:

"You can take advantage of these next two days to try and get some information out of Master Gao."

“Look at the great figures that have emerged in our Ming Dynasty in the last... uh, I mean in the years to come.”

"You should find them first, and then let Master Gao teach them a lesson."

"Wouldn't that kill two birds with one stone?"

As a eunuch, Wang Chengen was naturally pleased to be sought after by Zhu Youjian, and almost became carried away by his pride.

He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and thought to himself:

"Luckily, I was quick-witted just now, otherwise I would have let it slip."

"If I were to speak frankly about the late Ming Dynasty, I would say which rebels were causing the most trouble and which rebels were the most capable fighters."

“Send these traitors there and let Master Gao educate them into loyal subjects of the Ming Dynasty.”

"In a fit of rage, the Emperor might just chop off my head!"

As a person from later generations, and unaware of Zhu Youjian's identity, Gao Qingyun could easily say that the Ming Dynasty was doomed.

It can even be accurate to a specific year.

But if Wang Chengen dared to say that, it would mean he was tired of living.

Zhu Youjian did not possess the ability to read minds, so naturally he could not guess what Wang Chengen was originally going to say.

However, he was quite satisfied with Wang Chengen's idea.

"That's not bad."

"But I just released Wei Zhongxian, and I have to keep a close eye on him these few days, so I don't have much time to spend with Master Gao."

"Then I'll leave the task of getting information out of Master Gao to you for now."

Wang Chengen knelt and kowtowed:

"Thank you for your trust, Your Majesty. I will certainly do this well!"

Zhu Youjian nodded in satisfaction and turned to leave.

Only after Zhu Youjian had walked far away did Wang Chengen get up from the ground.

Then he carefully walked back into the garden.

Since losing his sight, Gao Qingyun's hearing has improved significantly.

Hearing Wang Chengen's footsteps, he asked curiously:

"Hmm, who's here this time?"

"That doesn't sound like Xiao Zhu's gait."

Wang Chengen had a forced smile on his face.

“Master Gao, I’m also a villager from our village. I came here specifically to see you.”

Gao Qingyun was quite happy to hear this.

Since he lost his sight, he hasn't spoken to anyone except Zhu Youjian.

Gao Qingyun stood up with a smile on her face, reached out and fumbled around to find a chair for Wang Chengen to sit down.

Wang Chengen was startled and quickly said:

"Master Gao, don't move, I can do it myself."

He was afraid that Gao Qingyun might accidentally fall, so he quickly walked over.

I pulled out a chair, carefully leaned back, and only sat on about half of my bottom.

Then he introduced himself: "Master Gao, my surname is Wang, you can just call me Xiao Wang."

Gao Qingyun shook his head.

"How can that be? Judging from your voice, you seem to be quite old, probably much older than me, so I definitely can't call you Little Wang."

"How about this, I'll call you... Old Wang, okay?"

After saying the name, Gao Qingyun was stunned for a moment.

Then, subconsciously, he asked, "Old Wang, you don't happen to live next door to Xiao Zhu, do you?"
