"Your Highness, Princess, I'm sorry I didn't come to greet you. I didn't know Your Highness and Princess had come to Jianzhou."
Li Mancang and others followed closely behind him and quickly stepped forward, kneeling and bowing. "May the prince and princess live long and healthy."
When Peng Shao, who was unable to move, heard County Magistrate Zhu calling the two princes and princesses, his eyes widened and a huge fear swept over his body.
It’s over, he’s finished, the Peng family is finished.
Liu Hai happened to be walking by and saw this scene. When he heard that the man and woman were the prince and princess, he almost fainted on the spot.
Liu Xiaojiao, who was hiding in the room and peeking out, was so scared that her face turned blue.
Oh my God, what should I do?
She had offended the prince and princess, and she would definitely be beheaded. Liu Xiaojiao was scared out of her wits.
"Everyone, get up." Gu Yunting said this in a cold tone, and pulled Xiao Ling'er back to the table to sit down.
"Thank you, Your Majesty and Princess."
After County Magistrate Zhu and others stood up, they followed Xiao Ling'er and the others, waited for them to sit down, and bent over to wait for their orders.
"Zhu Jianwen, do you know what crime you have committed?" Gu Yunting suddenly said.
County Magistrate Zhu's legs went weak and he fell to his knees.
"Your subordinate...your subordinate..." Big drops of sweat appeared on the forehead of County Magistrate Zhu.
He had already noticed Peng Shao and dozens of his thugs who were unable to move. He knew it was over, his career was over, everything was over.
"In the Jianzhou you control, someone is so bold as to brazenly bring so many people to forcibly abduct a woman."
"I deserve to die. I have failed in my duty." County Magistrate Zhu almost lowered his head to the ground.
Li Mancang and others also knelt down silently, lowering their heads without daring to breathe.
"Da da, da da." The sound of horse hooves came from far away, and soon, Gu Bei appeared with a team of about a hundred soldiers.
"Take them away and investigate the Peng family in Jianzhou thoroughly." Gu Yunting gave an order, and Gu Bei led the troops forward and quickly took Peng Shao and others away.
Next it was Xiao Ling'er's turn to ask questions. He looked at the men kneeling on the ground and asked, "Are you all responsible for connecting with the farm?"
The three of them answered:
"Princess, I will be responsible for connecting the herbs."
"Princess, I will be responsible for the fruits and vegetables."
"Princess, I will be in charge of the contract, payment, and other follow-up matters."
Xiao Ling'er took a closer look at the third man who answered. He looked to be in his thirties, with an honest look, but a glint of wisdom in his eyes.
"Are you Li Mancang?" Xiao Ling'er asked the man.
"Yes, I am Li Mancang." The man answered respectfully.
"Do you know the real owner of this farm?" Xiao Ling'er asked the three people.
"Of course we know. The owner of the farm is the princess." The three answered in unison.
"Li Mancang, let me ask you, has this farm changed its owner? Is your name on the contract Liu Hai?"
As Xiao Ling'er spoke, her eyes seemed to glance casually at the corner of the wall not far away.
"No, no, the name on the contract has never been changed. Liu Hai was only hired to manage the farm, how could he become the owner?"
As Li Mancang spoke, his heart skipped a beat and cold sweat began to appear on his forehead.
He probably guessed that it was the vain Liu Hai who had done something to anger the princess. This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
